Introduction
Before conducting my assignment 1 and assignment 2, I had to participate in a 12 week
learning program. The focus of this learning program was to enhance my research skills to
conduct any kind of business resources in an effective manner. Hence, I became able to conduct
my research on importance of consumer preferences in business. The learning program became
the best experience of my academic life. It can have a wide contribution in my career life. In this
reflective journal, I will explain my best learning experience in weekly manner that I have
gathered throughout the 12 week Learning Course.
Effectiveness of Learning Experience
In the 1st week of my learning program, my professor taught me regarding several
natures, processes and strategies associated with business research. In this week, I become aware
of the common research principles linked with research studies. Such research principle can be
applicable in any kind of research study (Abdulghani et al. 2014). From my opinion, such
learning experience and such professional course can help me out in preparing any kind of
complex research study in my future academic career.
My 2nd week learning program was related to designing and planning of different type of
business research studies. I became aware of the fact that research design is entirely different
from research methods. The business research associated with the importance of consumer
preference in consumer buying decision can be extremely helpful for my in-depth knowledge
about marketing strategies.

Usefulness of Learning Process
In 3rd week, I got practical experience about writing and reviewing different types of
business researches. From my perspective, the prime thing of conducting a business research
successfully is to understand the main ideas behind the topic of research study. In this week, I
became aware of the social norms linked with business researches and consumer preferences. It
will definitely help me to enrich my knowledge about the values of personal life of the people.
My 4th week learning experience was about being aware of the research ethics to be
maintained in research studies for the successful completion. I got in-depth knowledge about the
ethical guidelines and quotes linked with professional association that is the prime thing to guide
any business research. The immense knowledge about ethical principle would definitely assist
me to maintain ethics in my personal life and in my career life.
Happenings in Learning Process
In 5th week, I got the idea of detailed process related to qualitative research as well as the
designing of qualitative research. I realized that qualitative scholars highly prefer visual
materials in order to collect qualitative data. Such scholars also assess the matter of behavioral
aspects of the participants participated in the research process (Isaacs 2014). In this week, I read
several types of lecture slides provided by my professors. Such lecture slides helped me to gain
huge ideas on the topic of my research.
In 6th week, I studied different methods and techniques associated with interview method
that is an essential part of collecting qualitative data. The flexibility of qualitative interview
became a highly interesting study to me. However, I faced too many difficulties in understanding
the concept of focus group in relation to gather useful information about importance of consumer

preferences. I watched several YouTube videos on the internet for understanding both the
methods. Such videos provided me practical knowledge to conduct such methods in research
study.
Usefulness of Business Research in Research Learning Process
In my 7th week Learning Course, my professors thought me about the analysis of
qualitative data collected about consumer preferences in Bickford’s Australia Pty. Ltd, Australia
from the respondents participated in the data collection process. The learning was about codified
rules towards controlling the process of data analysis. My conducted business research provided
me hands on experience on secondary data analysis. Hence, my business research taught me to
think in strategic and calculative manner.
In this week, I nurtured the process of sampling and the nature link with quantitative
business research. I realized the significance of measurement process, which is actually the
indicator of quantitative research result. In preparation of my business research, I had to choose
correct sampling technique and adequate respondents to minimize the biasness in the gathered
quantitative data about consumer preferences in Bickford’s Australia Pty. Ltd. In this way, the
preparation of my business research was intensely related to my hands on experience about

data. The actual learning of my business research was completed after preparation of my
assignment 1 and assignment 2. I understood the actual way of implementing business research
through the preparation of my assignment 1 and assignment 2.
In 10th week, I become successful in finding alternative way of server based measure,
which is highly linked with structured observation method to collect research data. This method
is always related to explicit rules for recording the behavioral aspects of research respondents
(King and Mackey 2016). Apart from that, the learning course of this week was also related to
content analysis of qualitative data. Both my assignment 1 and assignment 2 was based on the
practical study about different methods of business research process and the factors related to the
significance of consumer preferences.
Application of Learning Process in Future
The focus of my learning program was completely on secondary analysis to conduct the
research study based on secondary information related to consumer preferences. The professors
taught me that secondary analysis always dealt with high volume of data and high volume of
research respondent. Official statistics related to secondary information leads to less erroneous
result in business research (Tracy and Redden 2015). The strategies learned from this learning
program can facilitate me to establish my career in research fields.
The 12th week, I became aware of the importance of mixed method to conduct business
research and its importance to lead accurate result in business research. The in-depth learning
about both qualitative and quantitative research would definitely assist me to conduct difficult
research studies in my future career. I went through different types of difficulties and challenges,
while preparing my business resources. However, I learned to deal with those challenges for

completing the research successfully. Hence, such experience would be a great way for me to
deal with complex challenges in my future professional life.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I can say that the whole learning program of 12 week provided me an
overwhelming experience both in my academic life as well as in my personal life. I can use
search learning experience both in my personal life as well as career life in future. The learning
of dealing with several challenges and difficulties made me strong enough to deal with any kind
of difficulties in any aspect of my life.
