3.1 Different perspectives on specific issue related to health and social care
Obesity have become a worldwide epidemic whose prevalence can be found in every third
individual of UK. It has increased the burden on health and social care sector to increase their
expenditure so that its prevalence can be reduced. It is the factor which also affects the
productivity aspect of the country. Hence, better strategies can help in dealing with the issue.
Another aspect of obesity is lifestyle and eating habits being led by the people residing in the
country. It has a strong influence in increasing the issue. Due to its increasing state, obesity
have been able to grab the eyeballs of media. They have been encouraging people to diet, use
healthy transport, exercise friendly towns and educate children regarding the same so that
maximum benefits can be attached to it.
There are various issues that obesity can lead to. These are, diabetes, coronary heart disease
and stroke. Other issues also include, high cholesterol level and high blood pressure level as
well. Obesity can also be really depressing and discriminating to certain people. Hence, it
becomes important for the government and health care professionals to create the standards to
promote health and social care well being in people of the country.
3.2 Monitoring the change of different perspectives for reliable sources related to
health and social care
Apart from managing the advertisement and creating standards to deal with the issue, there are
various ways that must be used to monitor the changes being brought through media and campaigns.
Use of reliable sources and validated results can help in ultimately using better sources so that
maximum output can be received from the same.
Earlier, TV and radios were used to campaign a particular aspect. However, since, majority of the
people are now gleaned to social networking websites, hence, government is rather more interested in
opting for campaigns being done through this media. The evolution in sources of media have made it
rather easier for the authorities to work on campaigning. Websites, news and journals are the other
methods that are generally opted by the government for campaigning purposes. Other electronic
sources that are available with them are, government websites, e journals, media websites, pressure
group websites etc. It helps in giving definition to the sources and providing knowledge to the public
regarding the specific subject matter.
3.3 Relevance related to findings of health and social care
Findings at the local level plays an important role as the strategies and planning can be
prepared at the local and initial level only. It helps in protecting the disease to become an
epidemic. For instance, if obesity could have been treated when it emerged locally, in that
case, it would not become quite prone in each and every individual of UK. The data for the
same were collected through the reports being published in various newspaper and magazines,
such as, sun, metro and guardian.
The findings also help in ascertaining that what are the diseases that can be prevailing in the
country in future and what type of standards can be prepared by the authorities. Collection
and distribution of resources are the other two important factors that is determined optimally
when any disease is found at the very initial level locally. Other important aspect is changing
the threshold criteria of the services so that changes can be made accordingly in the strategies.
Hence, there is high degree of relevance to find health and social care set up locally so that
better actions can be taken regarding the same.
3.4 Factors influencing the development of different perspectives in health and social
care
There are various factors that are influencing the development of different perspective in terms of
specific health and social care set up. Obesity have been able to develop and state its presence over a
period of time. People have been able to develop their base of knowledge through use of data that are
presented in magazine and newspaper. They tend to go through public opinion and professional data
in books and journals and other online material to concrete their knowledge on the sated topic. It
leads to have direct impact on their perspectives on the stated topic.
Presentation and emphasis on one aspect of the content is also another piece that can affect the
perspectives of people regarding obesity. Hence, a key focus on marketing issues can help in dealing
with the obesity to the core. But a major role is played by how it has been presented to the people in
the end.
