INTRODUCTION
Hospitality industry involves small sectors such as pubs, restaurants and hotels. It is
among the one of the important sector which has made the significant contribution in social as
well as economic development of UK. Hospitality sector is basically a service based industry. It
is a sector which has created the employment opportunities for people in UK.
The present report has focus on analyzing the different types of businesses in hospitality
sector. Study will also have focus on identifying the different operational as well as functional
division in Hilton hotel.
P1. Different types of business in hospitality sector and products or services offered by them
The various types of small sectors within hospitality industry are :
Hotels : It is the sector in hospitality industry which provides the different services such as food ,
accommodation etc. In context of Hilton hotel, an organization provides accommodation
facilities to customers according to their budget. The different types of accommodation facility
provided by Hilton hotel are cottages, villas, flats etc.
Food and beverage business : This is sector in hospitality industry which includes licensed as
well as unlicensed restaurants and mobile food stands. The services offered by the organization
in this sector includes catering services.
Conferences and banqueting : It is the business which provides customer s with a space to
organize seminars, conferences or other events. They also provide food and beverage services to
customers.
Bars and night clubs : They provide entertainment services to customers. In addition to this,
these companies in hospitality sector provides drinks as well as some food to customers.

Human resource department :It is the functional unit which is responsible for managing p[eople
and providing them with proper training. Responsibility of human resource manager is to select

The hospitality industry in United kingdom is has made significant contribution of about
fifty-seven billion pound in year 2014 that is approx. four percent of total GDP. It is the sector
which has contributed estimated forty one billion pound towards Exchequer. Hospitality sector
has assisted UK in earning the approx. Ten billion pound foreign exchange from exports. It is
the industry which has created the estimated 2.9 million jobs for people in UK. In addittion to
this, during the year 2016, hospitality sector has made the gross foxed capital investment of 7
billion pound.
CONCLUSION
It has been concluded from the report that hospitality sector has made significant
contribution in development of local;, national and international level. The other fact which has
been found during the study is that hospitality sector is very big and there is high scope of
different businesses. It has also been concluded that an organizational structure has great as well
as significant effect on business operations.
