INTRODUCTION
This report will is discussed the important aspect of contemporary hospitality industry.
This assignment report will explain current scale, scope and also describes the organisation
structure with given suitable example (Boella and Goss-Turner, 2013). This file is also defining
the organisational and professional bodies and their assigning their roles with relevant examples.
It will also discuss the current image of the hospitality sector and analysis the information,
justification ideas also.
TASK 1
1.1) Current scale, scope and diversity of the hospitality
Hospitality services – the current scale, scope and diversity of the hospitality industry
are very wider term. This industry provides the services in food and drink and providing
management services such as housekeeping and security. This sector are also providing to
support different industries like hotels, restaurants. The current scale of this sector industry is
events management, bar and pubs, caters, entertainment. It also includes different types of jobs
for providing employment. Hospitality sector is very fast and it is more beneficial for economic
development. This sector is also providing lot of opportunities of the people. Now days
hospitality industry continuously growing and it is a important part of UK economy. The current
number of business in this sector with 2.66 million jobs and they hiring 60 million people from
all over the world. This sector is also run their business in many different part such as retail,
Health care, education, corporate hospitality, travel, sport event and so many. Currently this
sector working with female staff also and this sector offer to their employment large number of
employees are migrate from one nation to another country.
Travel and tourist services - this sector are referred with two segments tourist service and
travel services. The tourism sector are open so many ag(Jones and et.al, 2016)ency for providing
their services to the people and this sector is comprises with many travel agency , cooperative
travel group and travel services is also expand their business though tour and travel agencies. In
this industry around 120,000 employees who are working with full workforces and 62 % female
staff is also working with sector. There are 12000 organisation providing this tour and travel
services.

Food and service management- this sector is also providing food and effective management
services. Now day these industry improving their services day by day because of tourism sector
expand their business so lot of people prefer in UK tourism. It is very effective so hotel and
restaurant t also providing their services with effective manner. 200,000 employees also working
this sector in approximately 25000 organisation running this businesses in smoothly way. The
scope of this industry they focus expand their business and they have large number of employees
and the main motive of this industry to providing quality services.
M1) Major operator within the UK Hospitality Industry and discuss the particular operator’s
turnover, type of products and services it provides and its history
Leisure operators is also the major hospitality industry and the turnover ratio is 47.7 of
this hotel is growing 23% during final quarter of 2016. This hotel is providing best services to
their customer (Boella and Goss-Turner, 2013). They also providing luxury product service to
their customer. The history of this hotel is very famous and the main motive of this hotel
providing better service to their cleits and earning more profit.
1.2) organisational structures of different hospitality industry
There are two types of organisational structure in different hospitality industry. Most of
the hotel have same structured, number of staff may change in large size of hospitality industry
but structure remain same (Huang and et.al, 2016). Role and responsibilities is also same in
different department. Hotel organisation structured is totally depends on the range of services
and offering comfort facilities to the visitor. For example Hilton hotel organisational structure
this is hotel the structured of this hotel is also small. They have number of employees and this
hotel is have dived into five department such as front office, audit, maintenance, sales and
housekeeping department. Each section employees play a very effective role. They also provide
better service to their customer. Manager of this hotel is also managed all the department in
efficiently manner. They also maintaining their relationship with customer. The main motive of
this hotel industry is providing quality service to their customer as well providing satisfaction to
their employees. They also create healthy environment on their work place.

dividing their work in particular area.
1.3) Asses the role of hospitality to the organisation and professional bodies within suitable
example
There are various roles assessing in the hospitality related to the organisation and
professional bodies in UK like People Ist British Hospitality Association Institute of
Hospitality and British Institute of Innkeepers, Springboard UK (Huang and et.al, 2016). These
are the professional bodies and play a effective role in organisation.
Roles of these four hospitality related organization and the professional bodies in given below.
People 1st
Working with employers to follow the right solutions which is helpful for increasing the
performance of people (Legrand and et.al,2013). It is also support regional and local bodies for
the growth of the hospitality and it is also helpful for providing job opportunities and other
information.

it is also play a significant role in implement new polices that help to create new jobs
opportunities( Legrand and at.al, 2013). It is also contributed their earning in export business.
Institute of hospitality
it refers to the educational system which is certifies with students and it also providing supportto
the hospitality sector.
British institute of innkeepers
It is consisted with represent worker across the hospitality industry and it providing advices and
support as well. it also helps to promote professional standard.
Springboard UK
it is play a very effective role help to people for searching job opportunities and help to promote
hospitality and tourism. It also play a vital role to achieve the common goal which is essential
for only youth.

2.1) Staffing requirements of different hospitality businesses
Staffing requirement is necessary for different organisation because without having staff
hospitality industry not divide their work and responsibilities related to the businesses. So the
tourism industry is responsible for providing important services to their employees. It is also
essential for managing the whole department work in effective way because hospitality
industry is the large size organisation have a number of department such as good services,
travelling services, accommodation and others (Boella and Goss-Turner, 2013). So it is
compulsory for proper staffing requirement each department complete their task in proper way
and overall department also achieve their goal.
Travel agent staff
this department is play a very important role in overall industry because travel agent help to
make planing and organizing the trip for the customer so this staff is very crucial part of the
travel organisation. They also help to providing the details about travel.
Housekeeping staff
it is also very important for hospitality industries this department staff provide effective service
to their customer (Jones and et.al, 2016). This department staff helps to providing well
accommodation services to their customer and they also help to fulfil the need of customer as
per the demand the people.
Food services staff
this department staff is responsible for providing food services to their customer. It is also very
important for to providing meal to their clients in time and it will helpful for providing quality
services though by the chefs.
2.2) Roles, responsibilities and qualification requirements for hospitality staff
The roles, responsibilities and qualification requirement of the hospitality staff are given
below.
Responsibility and qualification for the role of managers of hospitality staff is explaining and
making plans regarding to the hotel sales and its profit margin. Manager play very important
role in this sector they people help to maintain the record of the hotel and they also responsible
for hiring new staff and motivating others.

their productivity (Huang and et.al, 2016). Food miles it is also the big issues related to the
health. The growth of the hospitality industry is depended on their quality services if they people
are not focus on their food services so they face many problems regarding their business. It is
very significant hazard to health, it is necessary for public health so hospitality sector need to
improve their food services because its direct affect development of this industry. It also creates
a global issues and it directs effects on internationally and nationally trade. Food and agriculture
organisation is also taking advice for professional for declaration of food ingredients is giving
specific manner. So it is very important for improving the quality of food it is better of growth
of the hospitality industry.
The ban on smoking in public area it is also very important maintaining the healthy
environment in relation to the public. Under the Prohibition Act, to provide a clean environment,
so it very helps law that will reduce the hazards of smoking in local places, in publicly (Jones
and et.al, 2016). If someone smokes in door public places so its negative impact on healthy
environment. So this act is very helpful for protecting the health environment.

The presenting predictions of Potential trends and developments of hospitality industry
is depends on customer services as well as innovative scenarios.
The hotel sector of the hospitality industry : today customer services is the main consideration
and first priority for future trend and growth of the business. Customer is the great predictions
that are made in future trends to the hospitality sector (Jones and et.al, 2016). Innovative scenario
are related to the technology aspect like providing their services on line, smart phones. so it is
also the main consideration, it is also great prediction of trend and help to development in
hospitality industry. Future trend is also associated with marketing and providing regular
information of the service through social media.

now day every organisation analysis their prediction on coming opportunities though using
