Housekeeping and Front office
Housekeeping and front office departments are two departments which have to clear
communication between them so that there is a better functioning (Huang and et al., 2016). Any
requests of the guests with the comfort or the interiors have to be improved only when these two
departments work together. Check in and checkouts have to be communicated so that the rooms
can be ready for the next customers coming in.
Kitchen and Food and Beverages
All the demands are taken by the food and beverages department in Rosewood and with
communication the kitchen department helps the demands of the customers to be met from time
to time. Food and beverages department and kitchen have to work together so that the customers
get what they need and that adds to the reputation of Rosewood in this industry.
Franchising and licensing agreements
While doing a franchise or licensing in an organization it is very important for the
company to be able to have a better functioning and planning for themselves so that the right
measures can be taken. Rosewood has to further franchising in the market and has not let any one
copy their franchises as well in the market which is making the company have a unique
functioning in the market.
The services and the products of Rosewood are well maintained and the quality as well of
the respective by getting in the right employees which are required by the organization (Hassi,
2019). The competition in the market is increasing which is why it is very important for the
company to be able to maintain their functioning and standards in the market.
Global growth, franchising and licensing developments
There are going to be more customers and loyalty for the organization when there are
franchises and licensing of the organization. In Rosewood hotel these factors are missing because
they ask the customers to come to one hotel itself which is making the company have very good
profit margins (Ozturk, 2016). There is no need of having any other franchise because they have
established themselves in hospitality industry very well which makes the company have a better
functioning. The economy of this hotel is very stable and well maintained without errors and
investment whenever there is an interior up gradation which can make the company have better

functioning. Promoting themselves in the country and other promotions are not done by
Rosewood and despite of this factor the company is having a strong functioning.
Operational roles
There are different roles of different departments in a hospitality industry which have to
be maintained and informed from time to time so that there is a better functioning.
Front desk
Front desk is responsible for the check in and check out of the customers from time to
time so that there is a better functioning (Arasli, Altinay and Arici, 2020). Tidy, greeting,
receiving letters, communication are few of the roles which have to be good of the front desk of
Rosewood.
Concierge
The customers can directly contact this department of Rosewood because they help the
customers with whatever enquire and information that they need. To make the customers know
more about the city there is a direct contact which this department is having so that there is a
better functioning.
General Manager
The general manager has to take care of the front office but also briefly of the other
department of the organization as well so that they can maintain the functioning and operations
which are taking place (Liang and et al., 2017).
Skills required for roles within the hospitality industry
The employees or the hotel has to be aware of the culture which needs to be maintained
for the customers of the hotel so that there is a better functioning. The employees have to be
multitasking so that there is a balance and proper hospitality background employees are hired in
Rosewood so that there is a better performance. There is a proper knowledge which the
employees must have for the health and safety measures which are being followed by the
organization for a better functioning.
In a hospitality industry it is very important to have teamwork in them because there is a
lot of field work which has to be done by the employees and with the help of teamwork there is
going to be a better functioning which is a very good factor (Kandampully, Zhang and Jaakkola,

2018). The employees must have soft and hard skills so that they can have a better functioning
and understanding of the hotel themselves which is going to make the organization have better
functioning.
Skill gaps within the hospitality industry
The employees are getting aware of the wages which they have to be paid for the kind of
work and efforts they put within an organization. The vocational skills of the employees are not
very good and that can make the functioning of the organization get affected and that is not a
good factor for the company (Chon and Zoltan, 2019). The strategic management skills are also
not good in Rosewood which needs to be improved because they are improving themselves after
5 to 10years of working. Customers need changes very frequently and instantly so that there is a
better functioning.
Impact those skills gaps have on hospitality businesses
There is going to be a lack of direction and productivity if the strategic planning and
management skill is not going to be there in the organization. The organization has been in this
industry not from a very long run but there are standards and reputation which the company has
gained for them over years which needs to be maintained. Improvement in Rosewood hotel has
to be done from time to time so that the company will be able to function effectively. Workforce
of the organization is maintained which is why there is a good standard of Rosewood in the
market. The right skills are required by the management to have so that there is going to be a
better functioning and further growth in the economic factor.
CONCLUSION
In a hospitality industry there are a lot of factors which have to be improved and analyzed
so that there would be a better functioning which would be very helpful for a long run. The
organizations need to improve and get their operations in an effective functioning so that the
objectives and roles of an organization can be maintained which is going to be good for a
competitive advantage.
