Q1)
Sweatshops often make use of the mechanical engineering approach. However, there
are certain approaches that are more humane in nature. One of them is the biological
approach. This essay shall elaborate on discussing this approach to job design and its
advantage.
The biological approach to the job design comes from the field of biomechanics,
which is the study of movements of body and it is basically referred as ergonomics. This
approach minimises the physical strain on the workers through structuring the working
environment. On the other than, the mechanical engineering approach require low skills and
training. With the same, it is also to note that such approach have higher instances of
absenteeism, high turnover and job dissatisfaction among the workers. Furthermore, unlike
the mechanical engineering approach, which focuses on the results of machines, the
biological approach focuses on the results like body aches, fatigue or any other health
complaints. With the same, it is applied on the process of redesigning of the equipment for
reducing the physical demands of the workers, especially the women who work under the
companies so that they can be able to perform their roles and duties as well as reduce their
occupational illness. One of the best example of occupational illnesses is the carpal tunnel
syndrome.
Hence, from the above analysis it is to state that the biological approach to job design
is much better than the mechanical engineering approach. The biological approach considered
the physical needs to human body and illness but mechanical approach do not.

Q2)
Introduction
In the contemporary world, taking initiatives towards reducing the carbon footprint
has become very important for each and every companies. This report shall elaborate on
examining the policies and providing recommendations for a company towards reducing its
carbon footprint.
Research
Carbon footprint refers to the total emissions of carbon in the environment that is
caused by an individual or a company or any event or product.
Discussion
Carbon is very simple from the perspective of science. However, decarbonising the
economies is not that easy. Governmental bodies are not any single entity and it comprise
differences in actors and views. It is very important to reduce the emissions of carbon in the
environment and for this purpose, policies are necessary to be changed and that too, in many
areas including transport, infrastructure and industries.
Conclusion
Hence, taking measures for reducing carbon footprint is very important. Organisations
should take serious measures and implement policies in the organisation to ensure that
employees are working towards the goal of reducing carbon footprint, until it is too late to
recover.
