INTRODUCTION
Society is an integral part of the world through which it functions and works in respective
manner (Chambliss and Schutt, 2018). There are number of societies present in the world which
are incorporated by number of factors and influence the world and its development. The present
work is elaborating on certain aspects of the social world and the contemporary society. The
work is divided into two section one conducts detailed information on the certain topics like
alienation, research techniques and others. In the second section of the report an essay is
presented on the topic “Role and Impact of social media in contemporary society”.
SECTION 1 – SOCIAL WORLD
Qualitative and Quantitative Research
Qualitative research involves collecting and analysing non-numerical information and
data from primary and secondary sources for example text, video, or audio with the focus kept on
understanding the concepts, opinions, notion and experiences. The process or the research
technique is used to gather in depth insights and critical knowledge on a specific problem and
also supports in generating new ideas for research and development. Qualitative research is
commonly used tools in the humanities and social sciences. The subject areas supported are like
anthropology, sociology, education, health sciences and history.
One major and specific feature of qualitative research and techniques used for collecting
data is, it is a source which uses open ended tools and conversational communication methods
for making evaluation and rendering appropriate results of the research.
Quantitative research is defined as a systematic approach and phenomena for conducting
investigation for gathering quantifiable data performs statistical, mathematical and computational
techniques. Quantitative research collects data from those sources which are already existing and
through potential customers of the entity using sampling methods and conducting online or
offline surveys, online polls, questionnaires, etc. The results of collected data and information
through different quantifiable tools are then be used for depicting results in the form of numbers
and digits. Once data is gathered after that careful understanding of these numbers is performed
for making prediction about the future of a product or service and make changes accordingly.
Qualitative research is the opposite of quantitative research, as it involves collecting and
analysing numerical data for statistical analysis.

Alienation
Alienation is a term which states its occurrence when a person and an individual
withdraws or becomes isolated from their suitable environment or from other people with which
they are comfortable and place their belongingness. Those who are alienating are those who
often reject their loved ones or society and make themselves comfortable in isolated environment
and surroundings. Along with it they shows feelings of distance and estrangement not only fro m
friends, family and others people in life but also form oneself. This is a really complex yet
common condition which can be seen in people today very easily. Alienation shows
characteristics of both sociological and psychological. This is a harmful act which can be easily
affecting the health of the person as well as aggravate existing medical conditions of the person
if any (Shaikh, 2018).
The though of alienation is really scary but it can be treated and cured. A common
treatment process involves diagnosing the cause of alienation because of which it took place and
led the individual in such situation and follows through with treatment. There are number of
factors which can cause alienation like social situations, psychological disorders. The results of
such activities can be influencing the mental and physical condition of a person. The social
causes which plays part in alienation is when the person has the feeling of estranged from their
action they have been taking place in the workplace. Another aspect which can cause alienation
is adolescents where the child starts developing his or her personal perspectives where they find
themselves separated form their parents, teachers which causes anxiety in them in regards to
their social skills which leads to development of feelings to stay isolated and away from others
even the peer group as well.
Mechanical and Organic Solidarity
Mechanical solidarity is the process which states and talks about the social integration of
members of a society withholding common values, behaviours, attitudes, ideas and beliefs. These
common values, behaviours, attitudes, ideas and represents a collective conscience that works
internally for individual members in order to cause them to cooperate and coordinate. According
to surveys and experts the forces causing members of society and people to cooperate were most
commonly and like the internal energies. Mechanical solidarity is like an inanimate solidarity
where one part of it can not function and operate independently requiring the harmony and
cohesion of whole needs to be maintained and balanced out (Bridges and Bridges, 2019).

In contrast to mechanical solidarity the term organic solidarity is defined as the social
integration that arises after the needs of individuals for enjoying services of one another is
initiated. The society known by organic solidarity, the greater division of labour takes place with
individuals functioning much like the interdependent organs which are also differentiated in a
living body. In such society, people relies much less on imposing uniform rules on everyone and
emphasis more and more on regulating the relations between different groups and persons
effectively and often through the greater use of appropriate contracts, laws and policies. In
simpler terms, organic solidarity has an analogy with the living bodies where cohesion and
harmony is developed with interdependent operations of the parts of their body.
Health and Well-Being
Good health is not just about physical well-being but it also focused on the mental well
being and efficiency. The feeling of being physically fit and healthy leads to feeling good about
ourselves means that the person can go and achieve more and best of their abilities and of the
things they want to do in life and marked as their agendas. Staying and having a good health is
important to all and everyone and can become particularly an important aspects for in later years
that is old age in life. The best way to stay healthy by both physical and mental aspects is the
individual needs to learn of taking care of oneself and also have to understand the need for them
to stay healthy. The support one can get and receive to help with any health problem might
already have is required too for maintaining a good health. Most often people with low will
power has difficulty in finding the motivation, the time and energy to make a few changes in
their lives for being safe and healthy.
In accordance to the field of occupational safety and health, the concept of health and
well being are identified as two withholding different interpretations of these notions in separate
societies while focusing on strengthening the importance for one to assess and determine their
health status (Brunsson and Olsen, 2018).
SECTION 2 – ESSAY
“THE ROLE AND IMPACT OF MEDIA IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY”
Introduction
The contemporary society refers to the circumstances and the ideas of today that is the
present age at times (Joas and et. Al., 2016). The term contemporary defines as or means the

presence at the same time or in the present times. Hence, contemporary society and
contemporary world talks about today’s time of modernization, urbanization and digitalization.
In the current world and society number of factors and elements which imposes huge influence
on the society like the business environment, the world's working position and many more. One
of the major element which exist and imposes influence on the contemporary society and the
world is media. It refers tot the source which connects the contemporary society and the people
around the globe. Media is of various types and works in number or different ways for the
contemporary society holding huge concerning roles and responsibilities with the focus on
offering the best to the people and to the contemporary society for whom they are responsible.
Main Body
The role play by media in terms of contemporary world and the society at present is very
crucial and critical in regards to keeping people informed and rightly informed. Terror different
types of media available today in the contemporary society with the help of digitalization and
technological advancement taking place. The media in today's world holds the responsibility for
rendering information to the society and the people living in it. But this information and data
provided by the media to the people around needs to be practical, factual and authentic.
This means that the media holds the power to showcase anything and everything in front
of the public but it is their role and responsibility to make sure that the information which is
being rendered to the public is rightly chosen and should hold proper evidences in regards to its
truthfulness and authenticity (Cameron and Green, 2019). Another key roll which is trained by
medium in today’s world and society is of keeping people informed and connected with one
another from all over the world and from every corner of it. Media is a powerful source today
holding the authority to showcase anything and everything but the service which was provided
by a meeting is towards a public and therefore they have to be highly trustworthy and truthful
towards the public who they are addressing and for whom they are working.
As discuss the roles of media in regards to their services which they are offering to the
people and the public of the world. There are certain influence and impacts of these activities and
information provision of media on the society. It is a common and a very powerful tool in the
world which can bring revolution and huge significant changes around in a particular region and
even all around the globe. This is one of the powerful feature of media that it can influence the
thinking, decision making power and the working criteria’s of people of the society.

In simpler words media has the power over society for bringing different change and
evolution of the world by rendering the information which is needed to be reached to the public
and by making people understand this certain facts or general information according to proper
supportive evidence and resources. Thus, it is true media is a powerful and a revolutionary
source for society which can be a positive influence on the world can bring negativity around too
(Hawley, 2017).

it is very critical. People are aggressive and more likely to behave in certain manner if negative

media do have certain positive as a negative influences on the society. The positive influence is

birds making wrong and unfair decisions also sometimes taking unfair steps which can change
the dynamics of the contemporary society in the most unfavourable manner.
