Tourism is considered as cultural economic and social phenomenon, which covers the
movement of people to develop nation or places outside their visual environment for professional
and personal purposes. These individuals are called visitors and tourist for which tourism
industry has doing several practices and conducting activities some of which involves tourism
expenditure. In simple words tourism refers to travel activity which a person conducts for leisure
in a business reason to a local away from their home town or common area. Tourism industry in
this world known to provide the best tourism activities and services. It provides several benefits
to nations societies environment and local peoples in a varied term. The current assignment will
be based on tourism industry which consider in the list of most productive nations. The report
will define contemporary tourism and justify its development along with important forces. It may
also clarify positive and negative environmental, economic, and social culture impacts of
tourism.

Modern tourism is widely intensive, business oriented and commercially organized set of
activities that are important to do in appropriate manner, whose causes are found in
postindustrial and industrial west. In the recent time, tourists who are interested in cultural and
emotional elements of travel may gain the chance to do actual travelling experiences based on
interrelation with local community.
It can be said that by 21st century global tourism become the most significant economic
activity. In western Europe tourism beginning in the 17th century. This term encompasses
several activities process in interested including pilgrimage. It may give rise to share different
categories such as business, support, ecotourism, business and medical tourism (Rahmafitria and
et.al., 2020). In the western tradition well organized travel with supporting sightseeing,
infrastructure and in efforts on important destination as well as experience might be found in
Asian room and agrees which may rely claim to the origin of its vitiation of historic sites and
heritage tourism.

In the world of venture there are several factors exist which may contribute to grow
tourism or over an industry in effective manner. For example, Technology factor contribute to
promote tourism industry worldwide is it in compasses different type of digital marketing
channels that organizations in the sector utilize for purpose of generating awareness about their
business products and services (Martins, Dominique-Ferreira and Pinheiro, 2021). Along with
this factor management may consider more such as political social economic environmental and
legal. Each of this factor may put direct impact or get impacted from tourism. Some of these
factors put positive impact on choose an industry or rest of them may put negative impact on
same. All above factors influence success growth productivity and profitability of sector (Tang,
2021).
Discussing and identifying positive and negative economic impacts of tourism
There are several types of factors accessible in this world that me both positive and
negative impact on economy and its growth. For example, tourism is the best example of those
factors that may put impact on economy or economic force in two ways.
Positive impact-
The best positive impact of tourism in the context of economy is its contribution to
increase employment extent. In tourism industry organization provided various employment
opportunities to local people and provide them facility to leave a normal life for which they work
harder. According to current era due to unemployment people are facing several issues as they
are unable to survive and enhance their living standard which may lead to decrease their
motivation and drive attention towards criminal activities. By providing employment
opportunities to individual person tourism industry may support to boost their morale and
confidence level which is quite important for anyone to have so. It was supposed to generate
income and make people capable to spend money in the context of fulfilling their needs.
Negative impact-
Tourism along with putting positive may also impact economic element in negative
manner. For example, it may contribute to increase prices of services and goods, which may
create challenges for the poor and needy people to fulfil their basic needs. Increasing product
prices, also increase cost of living that affect well-being of human whether it is related to mental

or physical aspects (Sunday and Funmilayo, 2020). These type of impacts may decrease the
economic growth and develop several barriers in progress of any nation such as UK. Tourism
report negative impact on economy in terms of increasing cost for additional infrastructure, such
as power, sewer, fuel and water (Nanda Sofia, 2021).
Determining positive & negative environmental impacts of tourism
Positive Negative
Tourism development may cause income that
often makes it possible to preserve and save
the natural resources like lakes, oceans, and
other scenic areas of nature beauty of host
nations or societies (Garcés-Ordóñez and
et.al., 2020). Just because of tourism
development in many nations, governmental
bodies may take initiative to improve and
enhance sustainable environment, they
contribute to make nature beauties better such
as theme park, lake sides, etc. the
development of national parks, areas of
amazing natural beauty, reserves, etc. around
the world are getting better because of
tourism, which is the best example of its
positive impact. It may support to advertise
eco-tourism and other categories as well. It
may contribute to help eco-system in term of
boosting overall concept. It’s clear that when
environment degradation is happening by
tourist activity, the impact of tourism on
environment is mostly visible quickly.
It can be said that tourism industry may put
enormous stress on local land utilize and lead
to soil erosion, natural habitat loss, increase
each type of pollution and more pressure on
endangered kinds. These types of impacts
may totally destroy environmental assets on
which overall tourism rely. It may create a lot
of pressure on endangered things and
heightened vulnerability to forest fires.
Deforestation is the worst impact of tourism
upon environmental factor, which may lead to
decrease wild life and put negative impact on
animal health (Ballotta and et.al., 2020). From
burning fossil fuels to overpopulation, it may
impact negatively and in varied terms. It is
fact that negative environmental impacts of
tourism industry happen when extent of
visitor utilize is greater than capability of
environment to cope with this usage.
Unmanageable conventional tourism may
possess great threat to many natural areas, all
around the world.

Identifying positive and negative socio-cultural impacts of tourism
Tourism is often related with contract between traditions, behaviors and cultures as well
as values. It is considered a concept where tourists and hosts may effort to learn better about
from each other, through direct connection.
Positive-
Socio-cultural impact of contemporary tourism defines the effect on host nations and
communities. For example, it may put positive impact on this factor, in term of changing living
standard of local people as many visitors may drive their attention toward adopting trending
practices, which may move them across traditional limitations such as to educate themselves
better than now (Öznalbant and Alvarez, 2020). Tourism development may provide an accurate
change to obtain acquainted with people of many cultural units from international and national
regions. Comprehending between people belongs to different nations may support to develop
better cross cultural understanding, which is quite important for everyone to learn so. Tourism
may offer cultural exchange between visitors and hosts.
Negative-
Increasing number of criminal activities is the best example of negative socio-cultural
impact of tourism (Upadhyay, 2020). Just because of watching people living luxury life, and
spending money on costly products, residents in host nations may conduct criminal actions as
they also take pleasure of everything, but unable to do so because of poverty and lack of
resources. Furthermore, tourism may put negative impact on social and cultural factors in term of
increasing anti-social activities and losing of religious and moral values (Milićević, Podovac and
Đorđević, 2020). It may decrease bonding of family structure and advertise nuclear family forms.
It may affect negatively in term of drug abuse.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above discussion, it has been identified that tourism industry has
contributed towards growth of economy. It has contributed to enhance the living standard of a
local people by providing them facility to earn money and live a normal life like other peoples. It
has identified from about analyses that choose and industry put positive impacts in a varied terms
and also efforts to overcome the negative one which is important and beneficial for its business

growth. Analyses it has been concluded that tourism has contributed to improve the local
heritages of a nation which gained the attention of many people towards visiting historical places
as the love to get more information about historical eras.
Suggestions-
It can be said that tourism industry may put positive impact upon economic social
cultural and environmental factors in the future positively. When it conducts the CSR practices
in detailed manner for example it can promote sustainability within several organizations that has
been working under it.
