recruiting, developing and retaining talent at workplace. There are basically two approaches of
contextualizing in talent management such as On the job simulation on specific jobs and
disbursement of specific training lectures. This will support travelodge in maintaining high
employee turnover.
Background of Travelodge
Travelodge is a private organisation in the hospitality sector throughout the UK. It was
founded in 1985 by Keith Hamill, Peter Gowers and headquartered in Thame, England, United
Kingdom. It is now the largest independent hotel brand in UK, with more than 560 hotels as well
as 40,000 guest bedrooms also, right across the United Kingdom as well as in Spain and Ireland.

Rationale of research
Main reason behind doing this research is to analyse significance of contextualizing
approaches in talent management within the business organization. This topic will helps
researcher in personal way, by increasing its literature review quality, data collection and data
analysis skills. This research also support students by increasing its knowledge regarding specific
area within talent management (Collings, Scullion and Vaiman, 2015). Along with this, main
reason about selecting Travelodge company for this project as is it deals in travel and tourism
industry and also support those people who are unemployed by providing job opportunities.
LITERATURE REVIEW
It is a systematic process used for collecting accurate and in-depth information regarding
the current study. For collecting information in this section, different number of sources will be
used by researcher which are books, journals, magazines, publication research, articles and many
other relevant sources (Hacıömeroğlu and Bulut, 2016). These sources helps researcher by
providing detailed and in-depth information regarding the talent management and its impact on
business and employees performance. Main purpose of this section is to identify gaps and
conflict in previous investigation. Along with this, literature review is important part of research
project and supports an investigator to accomplish research aim and objectives systematically.

According to the Khilji, Tarique and Schuler, 2015, Contextualizing is the concept which
elaborates the aspect about coverage of topic in respect of some specific concern. This
determinant has major advantage in respect to the development of an organisation as the
improvement can be seen over the specific areas in an professionalised way. It improves the
working environment and performance of all employed in that specific area. Other benefit which
is associated with this practice is about attainment of expertise by employees which allows them
to perform in optimised way along with the optimum utilisation of resources. The overall
development which is ascertained within the organisation is about development of positive
working culture, high performing employees, less staff turnover, presence of effective team and
high productivity. For ex., in respect to the vacant place of marketing manager in an organisation
hire one candidate having specific knowledge and experience in that area along with the
qualification. So, it allows that selected candidate to perform effectively and justifies their own
position of marketing manager by ascertaining positive results in context to the organisation.

is hospitality organisation provides accommodation services in all over the world. The profit of
this organisation depends upon the satisfaction of the requirements of consumers. This can be
done only in the situation when their employees able to deliver properly and effectively. In this
respect, organisation is needed to appoint or have talented employees which help in
accomplishment of their objectives. Persistence of all employees talented in nature is not
possible in any organisation and the same condition is present in Travel-lodge too. Their
management has to focus over the adoption of the contextualize approaches as this will help in
development and management of talent management within the organisation. The approaches
that can be used in this regard includes on the job simulation practices in respect to the specific
job and training lectures in development of specific areas. Both these approaches have their own
different contribution in the development and management of talent. The first one which is about
on the job simulation has importance in respect to the improvement of skill and knowledge in

challenge faced by the organisation is about lack of funds. This is so because in every
organisation working at world wide level requires huge amount of fund where proper allocation
is not done by the management in respect of talent management. This will hinder the
management in respect to the execution of the different activities and approaches of talent
management and does not allows them to improvement talent of employees. Another challenge
that can be faced by the organisation like Travel-lodge is about unsupportive behaviour of
employees. This is the condition where organisation and approach does nothing because the
development is upon the employees. Organisation responsible for source but not for the
improvement. But the overall impact is ascertained over the capacity of the organisation in
respect to the management of talent.

METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is a systematic process which is used by researcher for collecting
accurate information and data about the current study. Main purpose of this section is to collect
accurate and reliable information regarding the contextualizing approaches in talent
management. There are different methods which will be used by researcher for gathering
information about the importance of talent management (Valerio and et. al., 2016). Some useful
methods will be determined as below:
Qualitative and quantitative research: These are consider two types of research.
According to this study, qualitative research will be applied because it provide information or
data in form of quality. On the other side, quantitative research is not appropriate for doing
current investigation in systematic manner (Moayedi and Vaseghi, 2016). This research take
more time and resources of an enterprise.
Data collection: There are two types of data collection methods which named are
primary and secondary. Both are consider effective methods of data collection and support
researcher while collection of primary and secondary data about the talent management. In order
to gather primary information about the talent management, questionnaire will be used. As this
instrument support researcher by providing reliable and detailed information. On the other side,
secondary are consider other types of data collection which will be used for conducting current
investigation. Books, journals, articles are consider secondary source of data collection.
Therefore, both methods of data collection will be used for doing this research in systematic
manner (Mohammed, 2016).
Sampling method: Probability and non-probability are consider two methods of
sampling. In order to select sample size for current study, probability sampling will be applied by
researcher. By using this sampling 15 employee of travelodge hotel will be recruited on the
random basis. Main reason behind selecting this method as it not want more amount and time of
organisation. Non-probability is another type of sampling which will be not useful for current
investigation. This method require additional sources and time of an organisation or researcher
(Pantouvakis and Karakasnaki, 2017).
Data analysis: It is another part of research methodology which is applied by investigator
for analysing accurate information or data regarding the talent management. In order to analysis
accurate data, thematic analysis will be used by researcher. In this, different themes will be

Research philosophy: Positivism and interpretivisim are consider two method of research
philosophy. For doing this investigation, positivism is a type of philosophy which will be used
by researcher. As this philosophy helps researcher by providing exert and accurate information
which is mainly associated with the impact of talent management. On the other hand,
interpretivisim is another kind of philosophy which will be not useful for carrying out research
over talent management. As it not provide accurate data about the topic ( Narayanan, 2016).
Time Horizon: This is termed as an essential tool and technique that gives accurate
understanding on the starting and ending time duration of investigation tasks. For this, Gantt
chart is best way used by researcher to represents accurate knowledge on needed time period
which is going to be used in the entire project (Khilji and Schuler, 2017). In this chart, different
activities have been included which supports investigator to complete each activities of
investigation in systematic manner.
