The digital technology has become the core for every business in today’s modern era, as it has

given so much of ease to the business whether it is mall business or big business. With the

emergence of technology, it has transformed the traditional business practices with modern

and effective business practices. Technology has upgraded the business background and has

given so many opportunities to the small business firms and enables products to become more

profitable and innovative new products to be developed, leading to increasingly diverse

product portfolios. Its impact is evident at the core of all key business systems which include

the administrative services like cloud technology, sharing of information etc. the other feature

is communication like social media, website development, interaction with other businesses.

The next is storage and distribution of the data with the help of the proper computer network

and structure and the last one is production which includes artificial intelligence , big data

analytics etc.

BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY
The company is continental Consulting Ltd. which deals into business process re-engineering for

the small and medium manufacturing companies. The company has a team of 22 exper

employees who are working are headed by Mario Bindas who is the CEO of the company. The

company is serving the companies locate in London and near Greater London.

The company was set up 8 years ago in London with the latest procedure that cam help the

other companies to improve and re-engineer their products. With the passage of time the

technology which is being used by company became obsolete because a rapid growth and

innovation is noticed in technology which the company has not adopted yet and it affected the

efficiency and productivity of the company. Although company have expertise in their field over

150 years with the help of the experienced and unmatched knowledge of the employees the

company was doing good but with the increased competition the company has lost many

clients for which there is a huge need for the company to go for the technological advancement

to come back on the track.

Small-Scale Research

The research project focuses on the collection of data with the help of the qualitative and

quantitative method of data collection. The qualitative method includes the journals,

magazines, articles and literature reviews of various authors. On the other hand, quantitative

research includes the quantitative data which is obtained with the help of questionnaires which

are filled by the respondents.

Qualitative Research

Qualitative research is used to collect the information and opinion of the people about the

Quantitative Research

This research is done to measure the opinion of the participant the quantitative research is

done. In this type of research, the data is being collected and a calculation is done as the data is

collected from the questionnaire and from the participants.

Journals and other online resources are available for gathering the information which will help

great extent and has allowed to business to get in touch with so many other sources and the

business person to create the network for the growth and expansion of the business.

Moreover, technology has given facility to the small business to operate on a small level from

anywhere in the world. According to Brocke and Rosemann, 2015 said that technology has

made the small business to operate in a flexible manner and with a transparent workplace to

the small business. Small business has to suffer and handle with so many problems of the

business which technology has made the business easy to tackle the business. Technology has

made the business to get operate at the cost-effective manner with low investment and god

returns as it has helped to manage so many things like inventory, hiring and retention, building

a network, keeping all the calculation, payments etc. which has made the chances of error low

in the business. The technology has a given so many solutions to the small business like HR

solutions, finance software, inventory software, import-export portals, hiring portals,

development of the websites etc. has supported the small business to a great extent.

In terms of the workplace and workforce, technology has grown and helped the small business

as the employees can even work when they are not present in the office and can work online

from anywhere which has given ease of work to the employees and helped to retain the

workforce with the flexibility of working. With effective work and workforce, customer services

have also become better. The online assistance has given support to the customers 24/7 every

query of the customers is being solved the customer interaction has also increased and the

effective feedback from the online forms has helped many companies to work on the weak area

and enhanced themselves to give best to the company.
