The study aims to investigate the contribution of nursing practices to enhance patient care, with specific objectives including articulating the importance of nursing practices, empowering nurses as leaders, determining the impact of hand hygiene with intravenous cannulas on infection rates, and recommending measures for continuous improvement. The research employs a qualitative methodology, including interpretivism, descriptive techniques, and inductive approaches, with data collected through questionnaires and analyzed using thematic analysis. Key findings highlight the importance of hand hygiene, the positive impact of continuous improvement, and the provision of quality care by NHS nurses. INTRODUCTION
Nursing termed out as an internal part of the health care system that cover the publicity of
health, care of mentally ill, hindrance of illness and support to disabled people of all ages
(Nursing Quality and Performance Improvement Plan, 2018). Therefore, nurse maintains
patients dignity at time of providing knowledgable and skilled care. Additionally, nursing
profession defined as an support for the individuals, communities, families and population.
Furthermore, nurses plays her roles as caregiver patients and aids to carry off physical necessity,
foreclose illness and provides better treatment for ill conditions.
The present report based on topic as to bring continuous improvement in nursing
practices that collaborate, develop and communicate professionally to provide high quality care.
Furthermore, study will put emphasise on following activities as to outlines aims and
objectives on given topic, methodologies will be explained to adopt suitable methods to carry
out research activities appropriately. Lastly, result and discussion will be given with help of
articulating the themes.

 To determine the impact hand hygiene with handling of intravenous cannulas that affects
rate of infection to patients.
 To recommend measures that leads to have continuous improvement in nursing practices
to offer better quality hospital service and community health care.
Statement of the problem
The assignment relates to topics as to investigate the contribution to the continuous
improvement of nursing practice. Therefore, the problem must be identified with handling of
intravenous cannulas that impacts infection rate to patients. In order to get overcome from it,

nurses must direct about to have better hand hygiene so that chances of infection can get
reduced. Henceforth, the another issues must be identified that relates with ethical issues and
diversity at workplace that disagrees to support the need of patients and help them allowing
better care facilities.
Purpose of study
The research is based on to bring continuous improvement to nursing practices for bring
quality health care to patients. The main purpose of this study is to provide better knowledge to
patients about hand hygiene while using of intravenous cannulas so that rate of infection to
patients can get reduced. It will be undertaken to promote improved health care by identifying
issues and implementing and monitoring corrective actions.
Henceforth, Continuous improvement in nursing practices aids to determining the
problems, executing and observing the whole scenario to take corrective actions that leads to
effectiveness (Padilha, Machado and Ramos, 2018). Additionally, NHS is taking initiatives to
maintain prime work surroundings to attract and hold nurses within entities by improving their
working experiences.

Review of literature
Health care services plays crucial role for promoting and maintaining health, prevention
and to manage disease and reduction in rate of premature death (Lopes Campelo and et.al.,
2018). Thus, this sector is changing rapidly. In order to bring effective work facilities the there
are number of programs as effective heath care that intends to improve the quality of health care
with providing best services to patient.
As per the view of Ellis, (2019) stated that professional nurses must wash their hand
hygiene in everyday practice to safe for their patients. The main purpose behind this is to
prevent the spread of germs and to reduce the rate of infection. Therefore, nurses must be aware
about the hand washing before using intravenous cannulas to prevent the spread of bacteria
between patients to minimise the spread of disease. Additionally, it can be stated that quality

patient care services can be achieved as result of positive interaction among the departments to
build dynamic mechanism. Therefore, it can be stated that the cleaning hand before handling
patients aids to prevent spread of germs and this also helps to stop infection.
In contrary to Sonğur and Top, (2018) stated that Health care professional are
accountable for quality of their practices and self regulates the activities that aids to achieve
better working environment. Nurses are majorly direct responsible for monitoring and accessing
patients and to perform immediate intervention to reduce or prevent medical complication.
According to the view of Duffy, (2018) stated that the processes of providing health care services
is to meet out the need of patients so that appropriate improvement can be undertaken. Quality
improvement is mainly defined for having enhancement in safety, effectiveness and efficiency
that achieved by providing better care to the patients.
Therefore, Graveto and et.al., (2018) stated that nurses plays vital role in promoting the
public health. Henceforth, the nurses needs to perform activities as to administrate medical
officer, bring off intravenous lines, to observe & monitor patients' conditions and to take step
towards hold records and communicate with doctors. Caregiver do not only give treatment care
to patients but also enhance their emotional support by collaborating with medical professionals
timely. In contrary to Cable and Graham, (2018) stated that continual improvement in nursing
practices are required to promote better care facilities to patients. However, the role of nurses are
as to assess and observe patients, to assist doctors to create care plan and to carry out care plan
with proper medication and treatment administration.
Methodologies-
This is termed out as systematic plan for conducting research on given topic (Quinlan,
Carr and Griffin, 2019). Henceforth, there are number of methods that aids to carry out research
activities systematically. Furthermore, following manner are as-
 Research philosophy- It determines the framework of entire research. Hence, the
methods are categorised as positivism, interpretivism, realism, etc. To determine the
impact of continuous improvement over nursing practices, researcher will use of
interpretivism technique. Therefore, it assists to define elements to the study.
 Research design- The strategy needs to be executed that integrate varied element of
research. Henceforth, these are of many types as descriptive, exploratory, semi-
experimental etc. To identify the impact of continuous improvement over nursing

practices and hand hygiene importance the researcher will have the use of descriptive
techniques to gather detailed information about given topic of research.
 Research type- This is defined in two types as are qualitative an quantitative technique.
It is termed out as careful selection of study in relation to particular concern and problem
using scientific methods. To determine the impact the researcher will adopt qualitative
technique and impact will be identified with framing questionnaire.
 Research approach- This is the term that defined as plan and procedures that relate to
consist of steps of broad assumption and detailed information. It is mainly relate with the
nature of research and problem that needs to being addressed. However, research
approach classified into categories as inductive and deductive. In order to determine the
impact of continual nursing practices in NHS, the researcher will have the use of
inductive approach. This aids to determine the observation that based on theories.
 Data collection- This is process that termed out as to gather and measure information on
targetted variables. Henceforth, information can be gathered with use of targeted
variables in established system. Therefore, this divide into two methods as primary and
secondary (Litosseliti, 2018). To determine the consequence of nursing practices in NHS,
the researcher will use both methods so that detailed information can be gathered. Hence,
primary method can be useful in determining the first hand information by conducting
interview etc. Therefore, secondary information can be analysed with book, online
articles and journals etc.
 Sampling- The information can be gathered with help of dividing up the population on
the certain basis. Henceforth, the methods classified into categories as probabilistic and
non-probabilistic. However, the techniques are categorised into as random, stratified,
cluster etc. Additionally, to evaluate the impact of contribution to the continuous
improvement of nursing practice the researcher will use sample random technique. To
determine the information the researcher can use random technique by selecting sampling
of 20 individuals as
 Data analysis- This is termed out as process that evaluates the data by using analytical
and statistical tool to identify useful information. Henceforth, this is very crucial to
evaluate the data appropriately so that proper outcomes can be produced and goals are

attained. To carry present study, researcher will use thematic analysis under by adoption
of qualitative approach.
 Ethical issues- The ethical consideration must be followed to undertake the research
activities appropriately. In order to conduct the research in systematic manner, the
research must be aligned with requirements as Informed consent, respect for the
anonymity and confidentiality. Therefore, prior permission must be taken from
participants to research earlier revealing any data, This all aids to collect research in
ethical mode.

DISCUSSION
Theme 1: NHS nurses provides better quality care to the patients.
Interpretation-
Based on the above graphical presentation it can be interpreted that NHS Nurse provides
better quality care to patients by offering reasonable care to them. Henceforth, the total
participants are 20. However, majority of respondents as 13 stated that quoted enterprise
providing better facilities to patients.

Interpretation-
From the above illustration, it can be interpreted that hand hygiene is crucial in everyday
activities to offer safe practices to patients. It aids to protect the patients from acquiring health
care associated infections. Thus, total participants are 20. Under this, majority as 17 respondents
stated that Hand hygienic plays vital role as it preventing the spread of germs to patients as well
nurse.
CONCLUSION
Hereby, it can be concluded that Nursing practice termed out as to define range of roles,
responsibilities, functions that aids to provide better care to patients. The present study is based
on NHS, to investigate the contribution to the continuous improvement of nursing practice and
hand hygiene practice to mitigate infection rates.
Furthermore, report has outlined the aims and objectives on the given topic, research
methods has been selected to carry out detailed information and to make research more reliable.
Lastly, result and discussion has been collected by using thematic analysis to conclude results
effectively.
