Teaching about contraception refers to a practice to provide information about
contraceptive methods including their roles to teenagers. It is necessary for adults to remain
aware about importance of using contraceptive devices or medicines for avoiding sexual
problems (Lerner and Hawkins, 2016). Meanwhile, it is observed that providing information to
teens about contraceptive methods involves them more likely in sexual activities.

Literature review
The basic knowledge about contraceptive methods
The contraceptive methods plays an important role in terms of carry out family planning
which is essential for maintain overall population of the country. As per views of Haynes, M. C.,
Ryan, N., Saleh, M., Winkel, A. F. and Ades, V. (2017), it includes the financial condition of an
individual according to which they can plan to make their family until a limit they can afford the
expenses. Basically, it is necessary to make an appropriate family planning by using correct
contraceptive method Meanwhile, it has been analysed that contraceptive methods be used by
single partner is sufficient. It is studied that contraceptive methods are favourable to avoid

different types of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) which spread by sexual intercourse. These
health problems are severe and required to be prevented because few of them are not curable like
HIV/AIDS. In addition to this, these methods are used for preventing pregnancy by considering
best suitable options as per suggestions of registered physicians. It is observed that medical
advice is very essential in case of using contraception for preventing unwanted pregnancies and
sexually transmitted diseases. There are number of such methods are available in which some of
them are explained further.
According to the opinion given by Johnson, D., Juras, R., Riley, P., Chatterji, M., Sloane,
P., Choi, S.K. and Johns, B. (2017), the methods of contraption can be divided into several
categories such as long acting reversible contraception, hormonal contraception, barrier methods,
emergency contraception. Fertility awareness and permanent contraception. Initially, the long
acting reversible contraception (LARC) which last for the longer duration of time which can
further categorised in two section including intra uterine device (IUD) which last for around 5 to
10 years of period whereas implant last for 3 to 5 years duration. These methods can be
considered as to fit and forget because it is not required remember for every day or every month.
It has been analysed that LARC can be known as most effective methods in regards to
contraception as they are potentials for preventing 99% of pregnancy. Secondly, the other
method consist use of hormonal contraceptives in order to prevent the pregnancy which consist

history. Moreover, it is used to gain proper description about educating teens about contraceptive
methods to gain appropriate results of the study.

In this context, the descriptive research design will be used as it is favourable to carry out
research about selected topic in more effective as well as efficient manner. It is suitable to
described about the target population of investigation and their relevant characteristics
thoroughly which facilitate to understand the fact more effectively to gain accurate findings.
Research approach
Research approach is termed as the process that includes steps with broad assumptions to
descriptive data collection methods as well as analysis and interpretation of data. Two types of
research approaches are there which can be utilize by researcher in the research. These includes

inductive and deductive research approach (King and Mackey, 2016). In context of this
particular research, inductive approach is utilize by researcher as it initiates with observations
and as the result of these, theories are planned towards the completion of investigation process.

Research philosophy
The interpretivism research philosophy will prefer to be focussed for conducting study
about educating teens regarding methods of contraceptives to achieve accurate results. It is more
suitable in this study because it is responsible for assuming the access of reality which is only via
social constructions which is beneficial to gain proper outcomes.
Data collect method
Primary and secondary are two data collection methods which are used to gather relevant
data during carrying out an effective research. Primary methods contains first hand information
which is more reliable and accurate but consumes more time and energy due to which the
researcher can opt such method only if sufficient time and funds are available. On the other hand,
secondary methods contains second hand information which are less accurate and reliable but
consumes less time and energy thus given more priority by the researcher who have limited time
and funds (Krishnaswamy, 2016). In the present research, both primary and secondary method of
data collection are adopted. Secondary sources includes use of books, journals and articles which
are used for conducting literature review in this study whereas the primary method of interview
will be consider for carry out data analysis.
Data analysis
The thematic analysis will be focussed because it is a systematic way of interpreting the
gathered data and findings of the given research. It is suitable for evaluating the more
involvement of teens in sexual activities through education them about methods related to
contraception.
Sampling method
Sampling is the part of population which is divided on the basis of their relevancy in the
research. In context of this study, the random sampling method is use for selecting participants to
take their views about the given research problems (Rosskam, 2018). In the present research, 40

respondents are taken as sampling size whose views and response towards research topic are
taken into consideration which will further help researcher in drawing a valid conclusion at the
end of research.
Ethical consideration
The ethical principles are followed while conducting this investigation by maintain
privacy of participants involved in research. The legal regulation are properly followed at the
time of using personal information of any organisation or an individual. However, the
respondents were informed about overall criterion of the study and process to be carry out. Any
one of participant is not forced by taking part in the investigation and their relevant information
is kept confidential. The ethical principles like informed consent, trust, honesty etc. are consider
while dealing with individuals participating the research.
Findings and interpretation
Data analysis is helpful to analyse the gathered data in literature review and views
collected from respondents in order to gain proper findings of given research topic. It includes to
focus of thematic analysis for interpreting the information studied about educating teens about
contraceptive methods for making them more likely to get involved in sexual activities.

Ans: The contraception can be defined as a method which has an aim to prevent pregnancy
through preventing sperm reaches egg cell (ova). It is responsible for avoiding the occurrence of
pregnancy after sexual intercourse with the help of several ways. However, the methods used
for facilitating contraception are known as contraceptive methods. These methods can be
divided into several categories such as long acting reversible contraception, hormonal
contraception, barrier methods, emergency contraception. Meanwhile, it is observed that
generally long acting reversible contraception and hormonal contraception are mostly used for
preventing occurrence of pregnancy. As per opinion given by people, it has been analysed that
30 out of 40 respondents have idea about the different contraceptive methods as they have heard
and read about them. In contrary to this, rest of the 10 participants do not shave any kind of
knowledge about contraception as well as contraceptive methods as they have not hard about it.

among teenagers and adult people to make them aware about actual role of them. It is very
important to make people aware about important to using contraceptives by explaining all the
benefits and necessities that encourage them to use the same in future for having secure family.
As mentioned by respondents, it has been evaluated that 10 individuals strongly agree with the
given education of teens as they believe that it is favourable to them for making correct decision
in future regarding family planning. In addition to this, 20 participants agree with the same due
to avoid wrong sexual attempts by adults along with explaining importance as well as
