techniques enable effective achievement of goals in an organizational context
(P2)
Introduction
The organization has a strong organizational culture and employment policy apart from this the
organization has the strong motivational theories and for which the company is able to keep their
labor force more stronger. With the help of the theory, the authority is able to motivate the
workers to produce the qualitative products and services. In addition to that, on the basis of
theory they are also able to invent more upgraded technologies for which the company is able to
sustain in long run. The influencing power of motivational theory will explained in this research.
In addition to that, the researcher will try to find how the Samsung will develop this motivation
theories and how it motivate the workers (Chang et al. 2014).
Motivation
Motivation means the process that increases the desires of an individual. In the case of Samsung,
the organization holds some theories. By applying those theories, the organization is being able
to increase the desires of the employees to produce qualitative output. In this case, the
organization is able to inject both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation into the employees of the
company.
Motivational theorist and theories
a. Content theory
On the basis of the content theory the organization is changing their production style for which
the company is still now is earning the higher profit than any other firms in the world. The
content theory means the changing behavior or the changing needs of the human for which the
companies are bound to change their nature of products. If they are not able to change their
policies or the nature of products then it will be impossible for them to sustain in the market. In

this regard, the Samsung has adopted a better theory to change according to change with human
needs for which they are able to keep their position fixed in the market. The Maslow’s hierarchy
theory is one of the examples of content theory. Maslow’s theory is suitable content theory for
Samsung (Chang et al. 2014).

(Source: Chang et al. 2014)
b. Process theory
The theory explains how much the organization is energized and directed. With the help of this
theory, the productivity and the effectiveness will also be described. Vroom Expectancy theory is
one of the example of process theory and it is most suitable for the Samsung. Without this
process theory the organization like Samsung will not be able to represent themselves in front of
the world.
c. Evaluation of theories
The Maslow’s hierarchy theory explains the changing nature of Samsung and for which the
organization is able to compete with other competitors. The theory is not able to explain the
adaptive nature of the organization for which they are able to compete.

ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR
The Vroom expectancy theory has explained the directive nature of organization and but it does
not able to explain how much sacrifice has made by the organization.
Therefore, it is clear that, the Samsung is one of the best organizations, which is able to represent
themselves as rulers of the industry.
The Implications of Motivational Theory on Management and Leadership
within Samsung
Within the organization there is no such inequality between the manager and leader but still
some differences are there because, a leader is directing the employees to follow the policies and
the manager is observing the work of the leaders and employees. The leader has their own style
through which they are handling the employees but the manager has their own style through
which they are observing and guiding the leaders. The leadership style is very much necessary
for the inner growth of the organization on the other hand the proper managerial style is required
for overall growth of company (Henson, 2016).
One of the basic natures of Samsung is that the company is operating with both mangers and
leaders. The motivational theories help the manger to operate the leaders towards the objectives
of the company and the motivational theories of Samsung also operate the leaders to achieve the
departmental goals. Without the proper leadership, style or proper managerial style the
organization like Samsung is next to impossible to proceed. Therefore, both the strategies the
organization has adopted.
Behavioral Psychology
The emotional intelligence is one of important nature of a leader because with the help of this an
individual is able to identify their own emotion and able to differentiate with others. It is very
much important to know because without it an individual leader is not able to know about their
strength and weakness and not be able to others. It is essential not only for leader but also
important for employees of a team because it increases the efficiency and effectiveness of a
team. In order to know more about the psychology of the employees the leader must have the
knowledge about the behavioral psychology. In order to do subjective or objective investigation
a leader can take the help of the behaviorist approach. In order to take decision on the basis of
the nature of a person the leader of an organization will take the help of the person centered
approach the cognitive therapy is one of the important physiological therapy that helps a leader

provide the better service for which the company is able to achieve a significant position within

ineffective team in Samsung (P3)

matter of the association is not just accomplished the development however the authoritative
culture of the organization is a case for different associations. So as to find out about the

inside the association assume a critical part for the organization to accomplish the development.

Different types of organizational team
In order to achieve growth any organization needs the specialization without the specialization it
will be impossible for them to increase their profit margin and also difficult to produce huge
amount of goods within a short period of time. In this regard, every organization has their
different specialization team for which they are able to achieve the growth. The different team
has their different responsibilities and they are performing in order to help the organization. In

every organization, there are problem-solving team which are trying to solve out the different
problems during the production. Apart from this, the decision making problem also be solved
with the help of the problem solving team. The cross functioning team is one of the important
team in any organization. In this regard, different experienced team members are going to
collaborate with other segments of the organization so through the cross-functional team the
company is able to solve different difficult problems. Self-managed team is another important
team in any organization. This team within the company is most empowered team and they have
the power to take the decision. The team members have their certain skill and they are
responsible to perform their duty to achieve the goal (Pina et al. 2014).
The virtual team is very much important for the organization like Samsung because through this
team the authority of the organization is able to communicate with other team digitally. It
provides the easier communication process to the organization. Apart from this, the quality
control team must be there in any organization because the team is identifying the problems of
the products in order to maintain the quality of the products. Through this team, the organization
is able to provide the qualitative products to their customers and able to maintain their market
share (Hwang and Lee, 2015).
Team dynamics and team work
a.
The group means the collection of individual and with the help of the group of
employees, the organization is able to produce the goods and services. Within an
organization, there may be the special group of employees who has the capacity to
produce special goods with the help of advanced technology. Without the help of the
group of employees, it will be impossible for the organization to continue their
production process. Apart from this, within a group all the employees has the different
skills and responsibilities and they are performing collectively. Without their collective
performance, Samsung cannot be able to continue their business (Shiu and Yasumoto,
2016).
There is huge difference between a group and team because within a team there are group
of employees and they have the same skill and responsibilities. A team has their own
responsibilities and they are liable to look after a certain part of the Samsung. With the
help of a team, a organization will be able to perform a particular function on the other

hand, a group of employees is able to perform many functions of a organization. Within a
team, there must be team leader because they will observe the performance of the team
members but within a group there will be no leader because the group members are
observed by the authority of the organization. In case of Samsung most of the employees
are working as the team but they are also in a group as theory are working collectively.
According to the case study, it is clear that, there are different teams like quality control
team, production team, marketing team because without the specialization the
organization like Samsung will not be able to perform well.
The proper skills of the team members and their awareness about their responsibilities
make a team more effective. Apart from this, the experience of the team members is the
main factors that help a team to become more effective within a organization.
The inefficiency of the team leader and if the team leader is not able to manage their team
then a team within the organization will be ineffective. If the team members has no such
experience then the team may be ineffective. In addition to that, if the team members are
not able to perform their responsibilities and duties well the team may be identifies as a
ineffective team.
In this regard, the main impacts of an effective team will be discussed and the factors are
individuals that mean the employees, the team it may be the departmental team and the
last factor is overall organization. In this regard, these factors will be discussed.
Individuals that mean the employees are key factor of a team if they are not able to
perform well or not able to apply their knowledge then the team will not be able to help
the organization to achieve the objectives. With the help of the individuals a team is
formed if the individuals are not effective then it is impossible to develop a effective
team within the organization. In this regard, the organization like Samsung must try to
develop a strong and effective team otherwise it will be impossible for them to keep their
market share intact. As a result of this their growth rate may be declined that they have
achieved over the two decades (Hwang and Lee, 2015).
Tuckman’ team development: In order to develop a team the organization like Samsung
may take the help of the theory of Tuckman because this theory of team development
help an organization to develop an effective and efficient team for which they can be able
to achieve their objectives quite easily. According to this theory, a team will be

developed through some stages and those stages are forming, storming and norming and
so on. In case of forming stage the team members must be positive and polite. In this
stage some of the team members will be there in the team who will be not able to
understand their responsibilities for which in this stage the team will not be effective.
After that, the team will be in the storming phase and in this phase many team fails
because the conflict may arise between the team members because each and every one
has their own style of work. After that, the team will enter in to the norming stage in
which the team members will be able to understand their responsibilities and able to
resolve their differences for which the team will be in a stable situation. In this way, a
team will be formed within the organization and a team leader will also be selected to
observe the function of the team.
Figure 2: Tuckman theory of team development
(Source: Hwang and Lee, 2015)
Belbin’s roles and characteristics: The Belbin’s team role model is also implemented
within the company like Samsung because through this model the company is able to
include the talents and personality in order to make more balanced team. With the help of
this model, the organization is able to remove the weakness of the team members for

which the Samsung will be able to develop a effective and efficient team within the
company. The team of an organization has mainly the nine roles and those roles will be
discussed here. The team is the implementer because it implements the ideas in reality,
the team is a resources investigator, it is a plant, and team is also a monitor for which
they are able to monitor the functions of the organization. In addition to that, the team is
the shaper, coordinator, complete finisher, team workers and specialist for which the
organization is able to achieve the growth quite easily.
Conclusion:
The multi dimensional hierarchical culture causes the Samsung to maintain over the long haul.
The approach of the organization is continually changing with the progressions of the economy
and the structure of the general public. The imaginative procedure of their hierarchical strategy
encourages them to accomplish the advancement inside two decade and they are having the
capacity to accomplish the principal position in the business of media transmission. The test
tolerating nature is one of the pieces of their hierarchical culture for which the organization key
factor of the accomplishment of the organization.
Recommendations:
In order to achieve the growth the organization like Samsung has to adopt some policies and
those policies are:
1. The organization has to adopt the Tuckman’ theory of team development
2. The organization must adopt the Belbin’s theory of team development
3. Samsung must develop different team in order to make their production process more easier
4. Samsung must adopt the training and development process in order to make them more
effective and efficient
5. The company must appoint more experienced employees and managers otherwise, the
