Introduction
Effective flow of communication in organization is important as it has an important part in
aligning the overall efforts of the workers with the targets of organization (Habermas, 2015). The
first part of paper will reflect on the function of communication and for this paper the sub
functions as a theme that is selected for the task is corporate responsibility. In the next part, the
Carroll’s pyramid model will be elaborated that will assist organization in examining duties that
are important at the time of managing operations. One of the major aspects that are chosen for
the company is “Corporate responsibility” which helps in enhancing the flow of communication
in organization.
Communication function
It can be said that function of communication is the significant factor that is taken into
consideration by top management. It is necessary for managers to master the communication
function as it assist in offering directions to workers. Flow of communication helps higher
authority in boosting the connection of the workers. If positive relation has to be created in the
workplace then higher authorities should emphasize on communicating with the workers. The
flow of communication in the workplace is important as helps in ensuring the management about
the motivation level of the workers towards the particular work. It can also be stated that if
proper flow of communication is not there in the company then it can create complex situation in
the workplace (Hall, 2016).
Methods that should be taken by the managers to master the corporate communication
1. Clarity
It is the managerial duty to focus on maintaining the function of communication at the time of
controlling the functional operations. The managers should emphasize on the flow of
communication in various ways. It is important that managers focus on maintaining clarity when
communication takes place between the individuals. The ideas and opinions should be
communicated in a proper manner. There are many employees in the workplace who understand
simple language so the managers should use simple language so that there is clarity in the
activities (Mukherjee, Yaswi and Das, 2018).

2. Listen carefully
Listening is also one of the important techniques that should be considered by the managers. It is
essential for the managers to focus on listening carefully as it can assist in collecting the new
thoughts and ideas. By listening to the opinions of others, the queries can be resolved of the
employees. It can be examined that by providing the feedback by the higher authority, the
workers will give their best towards the work which will also create positivity in the workplace.
The negative factors or the criticism should also be listened from the workers as it assists in
spreading the positivity (Karanges et al., 2015).
3. Provide honest feedback
Giving honest feedback is also the best method that should be taken into consideration by the
higher authority. To enhance communication flow in the company, the leaders should focus on
sharing the feedback which is positive as well as negative. The managers should give honest
feedback as it can help in bringing improvisation in the functional operations of the workers. It
also provides a platform to workers to elaborate the problems with the management. In this way,
it can be possible for the managers to resolve the problems in relation to the communication in
organization (Karanges et al., 2015).
Corporate social responsibility as a sub- function
It is known as one of the best way, and the organization emphasizes on accepting the duty of the
overall acts and the impact can be seen on the workers and stakeholders. The managers should
take into consideration corporate responsibility as it assists in improving the communication
process of the company. The concept also focuses on addressing the competitive interests in
reference to the society. The CSR can be considered as the method that has the main aim of
boosting the commitment so that the different concerns related to social and environmental can
be maintained in reference to the business model of the company. At the time of making the
corporate decisions, the public and environmental interests are considered (Huda et al., 2018).
CSR principles
The CSR emphasizes on the three principles in which the organization give attention towards
boosting the flow of communication. Sustainability is the initial stage. In reference to this, it is
necessary of the organization to focus on improving the actions by focusing on the practices that

which the corporate responsibility can be maintained if corporate communication is present and
it is important for the organization to boost transparency in the acts as it assist in accomplishing
the positive results (Baker Rosa and Hastings, 2016).
Significance of the department of corporate responsibility in controlling the problems
related to communication
It is analyzed that communication in the different departments should emphasize on controlling
and managing the opinion of the workers. It can be used as the corporate responsibility in
relation to the CSR function of company and it is important aspects in relation to the department
of communication. To enhance communication flow, it is necessary for corporate
communication department to directly communicate with officer so it could be possible to
maintain the clarity in the working structure. The problems concerned to communication takes

This is the model that focuses on examining the overall performance on social platform of the
organization and assist in solving the communication problems in company. There are different
responsibilities such as economic, legal and discretionary. It is necessary for the top management

company and can also enhance the goodwill in high level of competition (Carroll, 2016).

in context to requirement of the society. By maintaining production of goods in relation to

expectations and also assist to control the information (Kanji and Agrawal, 2016).
Legal responsibility
Organization emphasizes on considering the governmental policies and rules. It is necessary for
the organization to focus on satisfying the economic goals by setting the policies and procedures
of the company. It is necessary to focus on considering the responsibilities by the organizations,
as it can assist in attaining positive outcome (Davis, Frolova and Callahan, 2016).
Ethical responsibility
The duty of the managers to focus on the attitude that is not necessary to be collected in terms of
some specified law and it cannot serve as interest of the organization. It is called as the unethical

society expenses. Therefore, organizations should emphasize on ethical responsibility as it can
assist in reducing the adverse effect of communication process.
Discretionary responsibilities
This is considered as the responsibility which can be showed by maintaining the needs of
company to create the social contribution. This is responsibility that emphasizes on operations
that includes the philanthropic contributions that offer no pay back to company. In the Carroll’s
ethical factor it has been seen that it relates with social view point in context to good behavior.
The organization should manage the charity programs that can assist in satisfying the
requirements of individuals to fulfill the requirements. So, it is said that corporate responsibilities
that is important to be taken as it assist in minimizing the problems related to communication
(Ehie, 2016).

By analyzing the report, it can be said that effective communication flow can help in boosting
the opportunities for the business in the market. There are many cases when the problems
concerned with communication takes place but it is necessary to be resolved. In relation to this it
