INTRODUCTION
Strategic development is considered as the effective strategic planning that is seen as
important way for developing or running a business in smooth manner so that it could succeed in
less period of time. It also helps company in attaining its strategic goals and objectives in quick
manner within provide time frame. Research for strategic development refers to the efforts of
management team of particular organisation so their development can be done in right manner
(Annarelli and Nonino, 2016). The report is based on BP Oil, a multinational British oil and gas
company that was incorporated in the year 1909 and headquartered London, England, United
Kingdom. The company belongs to oil and gas industry which comes under world's seven largest
company. The present will describe role of corporate social responsibilities in strategic
development of BP Oil. It describes about research proposal for the considered company.
Further, it specifies different research methodologies that contributes in accomplishing research
requirements. At last, it provides information on research findings and reflective log.

1.1 A valid area for research to support the strategic development of business
Strategic development is considered as an essential part of company which helps them in
attaining business objective in right manner. It also improves performance of organisation with
the help of proper guidance made by management team. BP Oil is large scale British Oil
company which mainly deals in oil and petroleum. The company is already leading market place
of UK. But now, the major influence of this company to focus on adopting CSR activities in
order to strategically develop their company. It has been seen that major concern of top
management team is to enhance their understanding on Corporate Social responsibility for
checking out its role in strategic growth of the company. This will support in executing
organisational activities in smooth manner (Austin and Pinkleton, 2015). Along with this usage
of CSR activities contributes in improvising brand image of the company at market place. As a
result, with the usage of CSR activity BP oil can easily influence interest of customers towards
them and also contribute in gaining competitive advantage.

1.2 Aim, scope and objectives for research
The current investigation relies upon strategic development with which business
organisation can easily implement its all plan and procedures through predetermined goals and
objectives can be attained in quick manner (Baumgartner and Rauter, 2017). With reference to
the considered company, investigator have formulated an effective research aim associated with
the stated topic. Research aim for current study is “To identify the importance of CSR activities
within strategic development of organisations. A research on BP Oil”. The research aim is
mainly developed for analysing the benefits of strategic development for company. In order to
attain planned goals, investigator have formulated various strategies through available business
opportunities can be attained by them in provided time span.
Scope for current research is very vast as it will help management of BP oil in
improvising their knowledge on Corporate Social Responsibilities and its usage in the company
for brand image improvement. The investigation on understanding role and importance of CSR
activities in strategic development, help BP Oil in increasing its efficiency of operational
management. This would also aid respective company in reducing the chance of major issues
like oil spillage will not happen again in future. While on researcher's point of view, working on
such project help them in analysing their knowledge about CSR activities, as well as how a
company takes it initiatives in running business successfully. The investigation will also open up
numerous of options for BP Oil which will provide high growth to the company. Moreover,
different organisational activities can also be modified according to the changes in marketplace
(Bergh, Aguinis and et. al., 2016). This will give high contribution in quick achievement of goals
and objectives in systematic manner.

Sampling technique: For current investigation, random sampling technique has been

From the overall experience of mine associated with research, it has been observed by me
that I have the communication skill, technical skill through which I was able to interact with the
people in effective manner, through this research activity it was noted by if I improve my
communication skill it will aid to do many reports and able to resolve many people’s issues.
Interacting with the many young people made me more enthusiastic which made me encouraged
to complete my report at time. Moreover, many customers shared their issues regarding this topic
which able me to reflect in my report through questionnaire I was abler to communicated easily.
As per my target respondents their suggestions which was given by them was that I should focus
on more technical skill, through lacking this skill I faced difficulties while explaining about the
tools and techniques of this research.
4.2 Recommendation
The major recommendation that can be that improving on the technical skills, by taking
coaching classes and also by improving the techniques which are been used by the researcher in
their reports. Seminars and sessions which are conducted by many researcher and by attending
these activities I can enhance my knowledge in effective manner.
