examples of companies who are truly responsive in the age of responsibility.
The world is changing rapidly and the development phase is touching the skies. Development
and revolution can be credited in the account of growing companies and organization. With the
increasing number of industries and companies competition between them and the urge to
become number one is also increasing. Companies have shifted their main focus on the earning
profit and ignoring the negative impact it can cause in the society. The past decade has seen the
age of greed, fraud, theft, and data breaches in many companies which is one way or another
have impacted society. Illegal means and unauthorized sources have become a single source of
capitalism. Many companies fail to be a good citizen of the country and focusing only on the
growth of their organization by any means. Greed is good, greed to complete work, greed to have
a better lifestyle, greed to be successful but if that greed increases beyond the particular extent it
can lead to devastation and destruction.
One measure of its importance and goodness is measured when it has benefited something to the
society and in the welfare of the society and environment. Many companies are there which have
not given much consideration to the welfare of society. But the fact that many organization and
companies have started to take into account the business ethics, customer satisfaction, ethics and
morals. Companies now have started to keep orientation before starting of the financial year to
give employee training regarding the work culture, behavior towards each other and follow work
and business ethics.
To maintain a smooth and efficient flow of anything and to maintain the dignity and self-respect
of another human being, certain boundaries and limitation are necessary. Government has
enforced many laws not only for government organization but also for private limited companies
to decrease the impact of freedom and follow illegal procedure and hence the term which came
in front is Age of responsibility. Responsibility is defined as the response or to take account of
situation or issues. Age of responsibility for the companies can be the responsibility which takes
into account the welfare of society and impacts it in a positive direction.
The only solution to decrease the vast effect of capitalism and greed in the companies is – “Age
of Responsibility”. Corporate Social responsibility is the only remedy present for greed.
Age of responsibility can be defined as the outlook of the companies which is focused on
creativity, responsiveness, scalability and sustainable environment. Age of responsibility is one

where the welfare of society, environment and surrounding is given much more consideration
towards the development and betterment of society as well as life.
Companies take the age of responsibility as the responsibility towards the satisfaction of the
customer. The real success of an organization can be measured when they impact society in one
way or another. Companies and organization should use the resources to not maximize the profit
but to raise the awareness and welfare of the society. It is not possible that companies will shift
their motive from profit earning to contributing towards the welfare of society, but it is possible
that they make use of practices which can lead to sustainable and welfare of society.
Companies should not deliver the items which are harmful to their health and are unsafe.
Companies should not mislead and misguide their customers by providing fake details of the
product. They should protect consumer rights. Companies should not use any practice which
results in harming of the environment.
Example of Companies
There are companies which have responded towards the age of responsibility. Here are two
examples of companies which have resulted in the same:
CARE International is the Canadian based organization which works worldwide towards
demolishing the poverty. They are well known for their works in the society to protect the life of
people and provide justice and dignity to people. They carry the vision to make society poverty
free and ensure security in daily life. The main focus is kept on girls and empowering women so
that they can have equal rights and can overcome poverty. CARE international have always
accounted for quick actions which can change the map of the world. Their beliefs include that
every human has equal right and the individual should value each other dignity by respecting
each other. The change can only be brought when people come together and take responsibility
for the welfare of society. CARE International stands for Cooperative Assistance and Relief
everywhere. It recently conducted a Women Deliver 2019 Conference where around 7000 people
part took from all over the world. The conference aim at disrupting poverty and bringing a
common ambition to reduce poverty and bringing equality. The conference brought many
solutions and ideas which can be put in action to transform women and girls live. The
organization aims at providing the following commitment to a society of bringing diversity,
excellence, equality, integrity, dignity and describes the core value of what they do and why they
are doing and how they will achieve it.

The second organization which have taken in account and responded to the Age of
Responsibility is CERES- it is one of the non -profit organization which aims at finding the
solution which can contribute towards the economy. With the collaboration with biggest
investors and companies, CERES has a mission to tackle the pollution, human rights, climate
change and water scarcity. They carry the mission to build the economy which can be sustainable
to the people in the future and also help in sustaining the future. They follow the motto that to
have a sustainable economy it is very necessary to have the planet which is sustainable. They
work with many organizations and try to find solutions which can help the planet at the time of
climate change, water scarcity and solving much sustainable issue. Ceres helps the company to
integrate the practices of social, environmental into their organization and business and help in
making low carbon society and providing sustainability to the economy and future planet. They
have focused their many issues toward investing in the global market which focuses on clean
energy sources. The step taken towards sustainability will impact the economy as well as people
and the planet in which we all are living.
Not only organizations but the Canadian government is also taking measures to enhance social
welfare. The government directed that all the welfare communities should follow welfare laws
and abide by the regulations and rules and function in a legal way.
Life Example
There are many examples which can be seen in our daily lives where companies are taking into
the account the subject of Sustainability and responsibility towards welfare of society One day I
have visited grocery stores to buy some stationery item and I forget to take my bag and I asked
shopkeeper to provide me with the poly bags and him response he said that if we the people are
not going to take step they which is going to respond and asked me to use the bags which are
made of clothes and reduce the use of paper bags and poly bags in day to day life. Switching
from paper bags to cloth made bags can help in saving the tree and make countries and planet
more pollution free and will create a surrounding free of pollution and reduce the impact of
global warming.
Another day I was visiting one of the restaurants and I saw the banner displaying if you waste
food you will be charged with extra money. Influenced by the poster I talked with the owner of
the restaurant and they said that people waste so much food and there are areas in countries
where people are fighting death due to starvation and hunger. They told that they run an NGO

which collect extra food from nearby restaurants and distribute to the people who cannot afford
it. If the food is not in good condition and is not present in the eatable condition they decompose
the item in the backyard which not only helps in reducing the garbage and waste but generates
fertilizers for the soil. I asked what their future plans to take into consideration are and how they
are going to do it. They told me that they have planned to shift the system to an organic
restaurant by only providing organic food to the customer. They told that using synthetic
fertilizer causes realize of carbon dioxide which is impacting the global warming of the world.
Conclusion
Hence it can be concluded the organizations do not only have profit motives but many
companies have started taking their responsibility toward the sustainable change and helping the
planet to become sustainable. Not only organization but people have started taking actions. It is
the “we” people of the earth who can bring changes and are responsible for all the activities
which are happening that lead to the degradation of a sustainable planet. Responding to the age
of responsibility not only helps in maintain good relation among society and among people but it
helps in making more profit and increasing the business.
