Introduction
CSR signifies that how the business will pay off the increasing attention to society. Companies
have severely raised concern towards the welfare of society and employees. With the emergence
of labour movement has availed with limited people, as construction of hospitals and provisions
for food will enhance the social welfare of labour (Boza, González, and León, 2017). According
to Carroll, it is seen that business philanthropy is essential for both local and social groups. CSR
is the reflection of the obligation in regards to the stakeholders towards the society where it has
to accomplish common goal in a manner to facilitate towards the sustainable future through the
assistance of voluntary business actions (Boza, González, and León, 2017).
Role of CSR and its implication with the help of
illustrations
The role of CSR can be better defined by common theories as these are being supported by
supportive CSR practices. Due to the introduction of dynamic and fluctuated business
environments, the related CSR theories have changed timely where it represents social demands,
political, performance, profits, and ethical values. Models used are voluntary dimension, social
stakeholders, philanthropic and environmental. According to the Carroll model, it is understood
that business communities and political environment has been affected by globalization where
the related values become material to immaterial (Boza, González, and León, 2017).
The stakeholder theory is concerned with the common activities related to stakeholders to
respect and cater to actions for customers, communities, employees, government, competitors,
shareholders, and the trade unions. Other recent and role-playing theories relate to theoretical
perception, institutional perception, stewardship theory, and the dependency theory. The role of
CSR is not limited to expenditure towards the society but further it related to long term financial
performance. For instance- companies undertake voluntary actions and initiatives for CSR
where it has become as one of common trend in the international business. CSR has both
impacts such as moral as well as ethical concern as it becomes part of the company. Corporate
citizenship is concerned with possible partnership and other responsibilities in the company. It is
reported where theories of corporate citizenship are related to social contracting theory. The
concept gives a strong sense of obligations for the local partnership, special way of making it,

of legitimacy and prestige in relation to prestige and acceptance. Utilitarian considers huge
relationship between utilitarians where organisations become morally obliged while promoting
the best ever outcome where ethical theories promote the company does not have any kind of
moral responsibility who certainly violate obligation and lead to negative rights.
Under the CSR program, it is seen that CSR plan consists of CSR assessment, implementation,
CSR strategy, verification, refinement, and evaluation. It is processed when identifying the

services where it undertook CSR initiatives and finally appreciate them. The mission of
Starbucks is to reduce the environmental effect, handle the footprints, ethical sourcing, and
managing the effect of climate changes. The company promotes unique business models that can
promote long-term value creation and can finally enhance social capital. IITC commits to
several CSR policies that would reflect accomplishment in terms of financial feasibility,
profitability (Wang, Tong, Takeuchi, & George, 2016). Which are equivalent to transformation
to social capital. Nestle includes nutrition to children with the development of water facilities.
Nestle focuses on three pillars with the creation of shared value. It provides nutritional value
with several physical actions among the school people in rural areas in the area of harmony. It
has initiated to create absolute awareness to cook well, nutrition, good hygiene, and nutrition.
Honda strives to serve the community well from which they seek human resources and other
resources (Cha, Yi, and Bagozzi, 2016). The company has aimed to relate personal hygiene with
physical activity. Honda aims to direct the services where it could improve and enhance the
quality of life by proper delegation of sports, environment, education, rural development, and
other social causes. Honda positively affects human dignity and apply all the relative laws. In
order to maintain road safety, Honda has flagged off many vehicles. Nissan is committed to
becoming sustainable companies in the industry. It is also committed to good corporate
citizenship (Hutjens, Dentchev, & Haezendonck, 2015). Nissan Motors is committed to benefits
to society through wide variety of stakeholders. Nissan ensures manufacturing and sales of
recycled where they do not spare any effort while producing the cars. Nissan also aimed to
invest in green technologies, which include efficient internal combustion, centerpiece related to

the product strategy and clean diesel (Cha, Yi, and Bagozzi, 2016). The company introduced
zero-emission cars and zero-emission cars such as fuel cell vehicles with electric cars. The
companies get a chance to make its own reputation with the help of CSR initiatives. Some of the
sustainable actions undertaken by many reputed organizations are ethical sourcing cocoa,
obliged coffee growth, ethical source of cocoa, fair trading products, and ethos water funding.
These responsibilities can lead to generation of profits in future for its shareholders too as
goodwill leads to greater profitability due to greater trust of customers on the brand (Koolwal, &
Khandelwal, 2019).
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it is found that there is a great possibility of social issues and interest
lies in sharing crucial levels of values and making when operating on a sustainable basis. It is
important to know that a company must serve society for the betterment of brand recognition,
customer loyalty, positive reputation of the organization, and leading to increased sales. In
whole, each company has to comply with supportive volunteering efforts, organizational
diversity, and also the implementation of the CSR plan.
