1CORRECTION ESSAY
There are quite a lot of areas in which I continuously work to improve for the
betterment of my personal/professional development. The main area is to improve my
leadership skill. I joined the current company as an assistant manager – sales support in the
field of marketing. When I joined a new field, I realized that in order to earn authority within
the organization, I needed to have my ideas approved at the management meetings. I had no
track record and, therefore, did not receive sufficient support for my new designs. Then I
started to learn about the system by reading books and exchange ideas with someone who
work on that field for a long period of time. After trying to cope with the system for so many
times I finally succeeded in doing so, and my team members also started to have a trust on
me. Later on, all the manager also started approving my innovation. This experience helped
me a lot to build an internal network and create coalitions and much significantly improved
my ability to make an impact on the organization.
Another aspect that I have developed is my teamwork capabilities which I have applied in
my real life during a match of volleyball which I played couple of months ago and the
outcome was good at the end. I was one of the best players, but at first I did not trust my
teammate, did not delegate enough to my team. I noticed that I was very selfish and drugged
my teammate ups and downs with my mood. However, I lost one of the vital game, and my
teammate asks me to trust and rely more upon them, and then I realized my mistake and I
tried to learn from my mistake so that the same problem never arise again in near future.
After that experience, I started to give more responsibilities to my teammates and realized
that effective teamwork fosters responsibility for each person, results in higher efficiency and
builds trust with mutual support.
I learned a lot about the leadership skills which I could realistically apply in the
future. I would like to develop myself in the field of marketing and see myself in further role
of a senior. As per my discussion is concerned, this position would definitely give me the

chance to polish up my skills as well as develop new techniques to help me in progression for
later stages of my life. I would also like to take up more responsibilities in the process so as
to make positive as well as useful contributions to the team that will help the company to
achieve more success. The leadership skill which i have learned will help me in doing so.
