and experience with a huge array of conditions and presenting problems. Therefore, it is
important for the nurses to ensure that they can make good clinical judgments about the nature of
the problem of the offenders along with the actions that need to be taken with the urgency of
response. I have completed my bachelors’ degree and master’s degree from elite colleges along
with good grades in each of the institutions. I have developed huge knowledge and skills during
my learning years that had made me capable of managing critical cases of patients with
expertise. I have good working experiences as I have participated in a number of working
placements. These experiences had helped me to develop not only my clinical skills but also non-
pharmacological skills that help in developing therapeutic relationship with patients. Hence, I
believe that my experiences would help me to tackle each critical case in the correctional home
successfully. In addition, I would able to develop new knowledge and skill sets by working in the

place where I will be able to encounter people with wide range of disorder – not only physical

attending various workshops, I have developed good communication as well as interpersonal
skills required by every healthcare professional to provide person-centered care. Researchers are
of the opinion that personality and communication skills are crucial components for being a
prison nurse. Therefore, my skills would be helpful for me in handling complex cases
successfully. Researchers are of the opinion that conflict management skills are also important
for a job in the prison nursing because there often remain risks of verbal abuse and violence. As I
have participated in many workshop placements, I have gone through various positive and
negative experiences that had helped me to develop conflict resolution skills. Therefore, I believe
that I would be able to work efficiently in the correctional homes. I believe that on a daily basis,
I will need to use broad range of skills like problem solving skills, effective listening and
communication, offering advices as well as good judgment. This would help me to prepare
myself in ways by which I can become an expert nursing professional and reach the zenith of
success in whichever domain of healthcare I join.
