Introduction
Background to the research
In order to stay competitive in this today’s business world environment workplace
transformation plays important role in this digital age. Workplace transformation allow
organization to assure many benefits such as increase in performance and productivity of
employees, increase in satisfaction of workers as well as competitiveness in workplace
environment (Selimović, Pilav-Velić and Krndžija, 2021). The present research is conducted on
the concept of workplace transformation in context to business in which technology and the
requirement which is needed for employees in Costa Coffee to carry out their roles and
responsibilities is being conducted. Costa Coffee is a British coffee house train and headquarters
in England. The company was founded in the year 1971 and offer wide range of services to
customers. This is among the favourite coffee shop and largest and fastest growing shop in the
provinces of the United Kingdom. This research will generalise the concept of workplace
transformation along with the technology needed for a company through which employees can
conduct their roles and responsibilities.

According to the viewpoint of Sen, (2020) workplace transformation is defined as rethinking of
workplace to accommodate various forms of technologies work and workers. With the help of
transforming workplace organization can assure wider range of benefits such as empowering
employees to perform their roles and responsibilities in a more effective manner which further
helps in enhancing their morale and productivity, with the help of workplace transformation
organization can assure better communication and collaboration. This further lead towards
innovation and utilization of talent in effective manner. In today’s business world it is essential
for organization to emphasise on the concept of workplace transformation, as it will help them to
satisfy agent demands of customers while maintaining their competitive lead in the marketplace.

According to the viewpoint of Selimovi and Krndžija, (2021) in this modern business world it is
essential for organization to consider the current technology and implement the same in business
organization in order to conduct their rules and responsibilities as per the current trend. This will
help them to stay competitive in the business environment along with satisfying customers in a
unique and innovative manner. It has been analysed that technology is need it for employees as it
allows them to have flexibility and manage their time while conducting various roles and
responsibilities in efficient manner. With the help of technology employees in Costa Coffee can
conduct their roles and can collaborate with each other in time effective manner and can further
manage their responsibilities in a flexible and efficient way.

Potential technology through which Costa Coffee can enhance the performance and
efficiency of employees’ roles
According to the viewpoint of Schiuma and Carlucci, 2021 Costa Coffee is operating as a
leading organization which offers wide range of production services to customers. In this it is
essential for them to implement new and advanced technology through which they can maximise
their performance and will further allow employees to conduct their roles in efficient manner. In
context with respective organization with the help of taking advantage of technology such as
artificial intelligence, cloud computing, virtual augmented reality etc. the company can maximise
performance and efficiency of employees and can further allow them to conduct their roles and
responsibilities in an effective manner.
Research Methodology
Research methodology is termed as a particular tool and technique that investigators adopt
in order to accumulate reliable and authentic set of data and information (Attaran, Attaran and
Kirkland, 2019). In context with present research on workplace transformation investigator has
undertaken the use of positivism research philosophy in order to generalise data and further
assure positive outcomes. While in context with research approaches investigator has undertaken
use of deductive research approach the main reason behind this is to support objective nature of
positivism research philosophy and further conduct better testing and scanning of numeric
information and figures. In addition to this in terms with research strategy investigator has taken
the use of a survey in which with the help of questionnaire viewpoint of various respondents will
be generalized to fulfil research objectives in effective manner. Furthermore quantitative
research method has been considered by investigator to conduct data and information in
statistical and numerical way as to accomplish overall aims and objectives in effective manner.
This will help in conducting better presentation of facts with the help of taking use of charts and
tables.
Along with this investigator has taken use of both primary and secondary source of data
collection method in which with the help of questionnaire collection of data will be done and
further be generalized with the help of charts and tables. While in context with secondary data
investigator has taken the use of books, previously conducted works, articles etc and will further

generalized the data with the help of literature review. Furthermore with the help of random
sampling method investigator has selected 30 respondents those are employees of the company
in order to conduct research in an effective manner.
