INTRODUCTION
Counselling is a belief and a strategic process in which the counsellor provide an insight to
the persons who are in trouble. It is a systematic approach in which the feelings and emotions of the
people are addressed (McLeod, 2013). So that a new mould can be given to them. It is a process in
which the matters are discussed and resolved by a mutual communication and conversation. The
study is based on the role of counselling. The purpose of the analysis is to find out significance of
counselling and address those elements which are related with it.
TASK
Counselling skills are very important to convince the people. It is the process in which the
counsellor and the client both set aside and decide to resolve the matters. This can enable him to
focus on feelings, experience and behaviour. Counselling is a helping approach in which the
counsellor has to work on the matters which are related with the clients. The role of him is to speak
freely with the persons and top know about the matters which are related with the clients.
Counsellor is not emotionally involve with the issues of the client (Sherr and et.al. 2007). He has to
just listen the persons and then to provide the assassinate as per the need and demand of the
situation. The counsellor has to approach the main and core matters which are related with the
clients and he will have to take the decisions accordingly. Counselling is conducted on the matters
when the people do not get the idea that what to do and they feel themselves in a dilemma. It is the
process which is used for resolving the matters related with the persons and it is professional
approach. Some times the counselling can be done in the friend circle and in family matters also. In
it there is no need of the professional experience, people provide the assistance on the basis of their
experience towards the life and situations. Thus it is a approach, in it the counsellor has to work for
the people who are in trouble or in such metal state that they are unable to understand the core
principles and values. Effective listening is the great tool which can be opt by the counsellor and he
has to listen the problems and matters of the clients, and then has to take a decision (Hardcastle and
et.al. 2008). He is liable to convince the people and make them aware about the procedures and
policies which can be adopted for resolving the matters. Counsellor has to attach emotionally with
the people and then has to make feel comfort them. By this they can be able to tell each and every
conflict of them with him. It is essential for the counsellor to have good communication skills,
knowledge and experience. He should also have the practical approach by this he will be able to
understand the situations and matters more smoothly.
