This research proposal investigates the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of adolescents aged 10-19. It aims to identify the specific effects of the pandemic on their mental well-being, academic performance, and professional development, including the closure of schools and workplaces, social isolation, and disruptions to daily routines. The study will explore the ways adolescents maintained positive mental health during this challenging period and recommend strategies to mitigate the negative impacts. The methodology involves a quantitative research approach using questionnaire surveys for data collection, focusing on understanding the psychological and academic consequences of the pandemic, including stress, anxiety, and feelings of hopelessness. Ethical considerations such as confidentiality, anonymity, and informed consent are also addressed. The research seeks to provide insights into the development of effective strategies to support adolescent mental health and prevent long-term complications, particularly in the context of economic recession and its effect on job opportunities and social interactions.
