In present scenario Covid 19 that is an infectious disease is affecting the whole world.
The current situation has been declared as global pandemic by World health organization.
Current report is about the influence of present outbreak on airline industry (Tarki, Levy and
Weiss, 2020). It is one of the most affected sector with prevailing pandemic condition.
Main Body
Current pandemic has slow down the growth of all the economies across the globe. The
current situation has been declared as global pandemic by World health organization. It has
disrupted economic activities across the world and reduce down the GDP of various countries
such as US, UK and many more. Aviation is one of the main way of transportation for
passengers all over the globe. Airline industry undertake several activities concern with
manufacturing and operations of aircraft. They are responsible to carry out several activities such
as security check, effective departure and landing and many more in order to provide efficient
transportation facilities to passengers. Due to current pandemic situation people are avoiding
travelling and moving from one place to another . This is affecting the airline industry all around
the world. A lot of domestic as well as international flights have got cancelled. The industry is
facing substantial financial problem as operating cost, maintenance expenses are high. It is not
able to get sufficient revenue to meet with expenses that causes huge losses for aviation sector
all over the globe (Li and Xiong, 2017). That is a reason they adopt the practice of cost cutting
through lay off and reduce down other unnecessary expenses. Employees who are working as a
ground staff, attended are losing their jobs due to recession in industry. They are not able to get
necessary income to meet with their daily expenses. Covid 19 has reduce down job opportunities
in the respective sector that is affecting the whole economy of country. Government of several

countries have cancelled the visa of foreign tourist and locked down the areas in order to control
spread of virus. Various countries has declared complete lock down for a particular period of
time that has affected tourism globally. Travel and aviation sector both have strong association
with each other. Because of current situation people are prefer to stay at home rather than going
outside. This is one of the most crucial reason behind slowing down the growth of airline
industry. It has changed in operations of airline sector ( Blanchard, Philippon and Pisani-Ferry,
2020). Now, they are giving due consideration to sanitization and hygienic activities. They are
carrying out proper screening, health check up of passengers. Various airlines such as British
airways, easy jet and many more facilitated training programs for their staff to work as per
current guidelines of government. They are running aircraft on less than full capacity to curb the
transmission of virus. Hence, Covid 19 hit aviation industry across the globe.
CONCLUSION:
From the Above report, it can be concluded that prevailing pandemic situation is
affecting the overall airline sector. Discussion states that Covid 19 has reduce down the revenue,
profit margins, employment opportunities in aviation industry all around the world. It has
significantly disrupted operational activities of respective sector.
