Corona virus not only impacted the entire nation’s economy but this virus has really
affected the life of people and changed their lives drastically. The government tried their best to
save lives through various methods of slowing down the spread of the covid virus, in order to
handle this situation various dramatic measures were taken into account in order to deal with
implications for economic activity. The present essay will cover the impact of COVID-19 on
daily life in the UK. In addition to that it involves various categories such as social, economic
and healthcare. Moreover it involves the statistics related to “Coronavirus Death” including the
lockdown scenario and new variants of this Virus. Also there is a pie chart to show the data
provided by “Coronavirus Cases” and bar chart for monthly unemployment figures. Lastly it
involves impact of COVID-19 on social life( Sharma and Jhamb, 2020)

As the government around the world seeks to save live of people from the spread of the
coronavirus, the UK government declared a lockdown on March 23, 2020 to control the
situation of pandemic. It might have resulted in the public-health crisis but also taken a toll
on economy. The pandemic drastically affected the live of people as it not only was
injurious for health but it also affected their day to day life due to implementation of
lockdown which not only affected people’s income but also affected their mental health and
social well being (Nagel, 2020)
While every health service across the UK has faced pressures over the pandemic, there were
various challenges that the entire country and its people had to deal with. The number of
death due to corona virus involved a number of around 120 deaths in 28 days of a positive

test report according to data. Covid 19 was the second highest cause of death in home
residents in Wales and England in 2020. It involved both the female and male care home
residents in both England with a 14.2% and 17.8% respectively. In 2020, there were an
estimated 688 deaths in England and Wales which were fewer in number as compare to
2019. The morality rates for death decrease due to COVID in England but in Wales, the
morality rate increased to 97.6 death per 100,000 people in October 2021. In October 2021,
the COVID-19 remained the most common cause of death in both Wales and England (Wang
and Li, 2021)

The covid 19 pandemic majorly impacted the healthcare sector in the UK. In 2019,
the curative hospital bed capacity in the UK was around 127,225 beds. If compared the
number of deaths from COVID and people in hospital across the pandemic it is clear
that the second wave of pandemic drastically affected the lives of people in all four
countries due to high rates of Covid deaths from the month from November to
February. With the second winter, the shape of the pandemic in terms of nature of
cases and numbers is unclear due to the relationship between the pressure on care
services. The pressure on services were seen against the backdrop of the intense workload for the
healthcare staff over past 2 years following with impact of fatigue among social care workers and
NHS on staff sickness (Griffin, 2020).

impact due to global COVID-19 pandemic of UK has been largely disruptive. The impact of
COVID 19 has adversely affected employment, travel, shipping, financial markets and number of
industries. The governor of England called the British government to support the business
affected by the virus. In the month of august, there was no coronvirus restrictions that
contributed in monthly GDP growing by 4% between july and august. The sectors provided the
strongest contribution to food services and accommodation with entertainment, art and
recreation. The strongest positive contributions was to service output which were majorly from
food services, arts, entertainment, recreation, information and communication. There was a rise
in production output monthly which was led by quarrying and mining. With the start of
Coronavirus, the manufacture of transport equipment by affected the most (Armitage and Nellums, 2020).

on the life of people and has the far reaching consequences in the entire country with the spread
of the virus and quarantine situations including various social, cultural and political implications.
The pandemic majorly affected the social life of people and not only it affected people physical
health but also affected their mental health (Njindan Iyke, 2020).The situation of lockdown had a
major affect as it was important for people to stay in their houses but it was also important for
them to socialise but with spread of virus people were locked in their houses for months and
months with not only affected their health but also increase the level of anxiety among them. The
covid pandemic drastically affected the society but it was also equally important for people to
stop meeting their close friends and family members in order to stop the community spread of
virus( Liu, 2021).
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that, there was a major impact of the
coronvirus pandemic and it not only affected the daily life of people in UK but also affected their
mental health. The entire country had major influences in various political, economical and
social factors. The pandemic not only affected the GDP rate but also increased the number of
unemployement rate. All the deaths due to covid 19 increased in the year 2020 and drastically
affected people’s life. The lockdown situations and new variant of virus turned to be issue for the

UK government. It also had a major impact of social life and health care industries. The
pandemic not only affected the life of people but also affected the staffs of healthcare sector.
