INTRODUCTION
Statistics states to an science that mainly deals with collecting, analysing, and
interpretation of data. Government bodies analyse the state of the environment by which they can
take effective measures to reduce the risk of threats which they can seen in future. Statistics used
in many fiels such as in businesses, psychology, social sciences. It assist to understand the
general patterns and trends in provided set of data. Statistics allow an individual to assess data
evidence based on quantitative data and help them to evaluate between uncertain and reasonable
conclusion (Ali, B. J., 2020). This report includes impact of covid19 on UK's Economy, health
and social care.
TASK 1
Covid19 Impact in UK:
In the history, first time health crisis shut down the entire global economy. Covid19
Pandemic adversely affect whole economy, social care and health of UK. The COVID 19 has
had a profound affects on life of citizens live around the world. To control the pandemic of
covid19 UK government declared a lockdown 0n 23March, 2020. This step is taken to saves the
lives of UK citizens. Due to this people are not able to handle and get frustrated due to this kind
of situation. During this lockdown around7.6 million jobs are at risk. The risk is extremely
skewed people who have low income are highly vulnerable to job less. Not only economy bust
also other sectors of UK were get highly effected by Pandemic. Such as UK face many other
situations like reducing in economy, rapidly raising in death rates, insufficient medical resources.
Total number of death due to covid19 was 10,198 which was high as compared to the data of last
of five years by 7.5%. In between 1 January to12 August total number of death were registered
more than a twice in the same year by 65,000. Although in 2022 number of death registered
more than 5,700 since 8 June. This is higher by 95% in the same period last year where there are
2,936 deaths were registered across the UK. In 2021, number of people dying is more in summer
because almost half of the deaths recorded was in summer among the people with age group of
85. Death due to Covid seen high among the aged people in whole pandemic, like people in
between age group of 65 to 85 have recorded highest in death rate, which is higher by 180% as
compared with summer in 2020 (Kadam and Atre, 2020). In December UK government remove

all the restrictions and people start moving which increase death rate again in country. With the
help of charts impact of covid19 on UK were discussed.
Covid19 Impact on Healthcare:
UK government seen various problems due to the Covid-19 pandemic in heath care
sector. This happens because referrals and appointments were restricted during the covid19
pandemic. Along with this there is lack of proper medicine, medical equipments, shortage of
beds, oxygen in hospitals which adversely affects health of UK citizens. For this reason, citizens
of UK cannot get proper medical treatment which highly effects their lives. Not only lives of
Covid patients affect due to covid19 but also the lives of non-Covid patients was also affected
during this period. Like in may 2020 the number of hospitals for non- Covid patients was too less
those who are suffers from small diseases because due to lack of proper health care services all
the hospitals full with Covid patient which adversely affect health of non-Covid patients. Due to
this people of UK not utilize proper treatment due to lack of medical resources which increase
the cases and death rate in country (Liu and et.al, 2022).
Impact of Covid19 on Economy:
In UK level of Unemployment hit the highest level during the Covid19 pandemic, Hard
lockdown measure set in second wave of Covid19 that increases burden on business and
workers. In second lockdown unemployment rate is more than double as compared to the level of
pre-pandemic which is 7.5%. In January month 2020 there are 943000 total number of people are
unemployed which hit the economy of UK very hard. After that the unemployment rate get
decreases but with very low due to which the economy of UK are not able to save their position
in the global market. Discontinuation in operations of the industrial sector may be also one of the
reason which increases the rate of unemployment in UK. Industries get pause their operations
due to the lockdown which was imposed by the UK government. Due to this owners of the
business can not capable to pay wages or salary to their employees. Along with this Younger
employees bear the strain of the job crisis most and inflicted by the covid19 pandemic. This is
because they work in that sector of economy which is highly suffered or effected most from
social-distancing restrictions (Santamaría and et.al, 2021). To prevent rise in unemployment
during the pandemic, UK government introduce a Furlough scheme to topped up the wages of
about 10 million workers. During the first lockdown workers who are on furlough hit a peak of
almost 9 million in June, and slowly reduces as the UK economy start recovering. UK

government also take some measures to control employment rate as they raise the universal
credit value benefits by 20 a week which help the people the UK to survive. But this was
temporary because suddenly in end of the march the crisis of covid19 pandemic again start
recovering which again create the situation of lockdown in an economy.
Impact of Covid19 on social Care:
Covid19 pandemic impact highly on social care as government of UK stops the public
gathering and put full lockdown in country which reduces the public meeting and interaction of
people because that can increase the impact of covid19 in an economy and government mainly
focuses on quality of care as pandemic brought a horrible death toll in so many places change in
fundamental the way of care was been served. Government of UK take various steps to reduce
the impact of Covid in an economy (Zhou and et.al, 2021).

economy of UK. First time in the history, one pandemic stop the lives of people. UK economy
reduce by the high margin due to which they face insufficient monetary resources and high loss.
