Introduction
The present essay will outline the impact of the recent issue that is the pandemic over the
working of the economy and people living in it. The current pandemic has created a lot of
negative impact over the working and living of people within the country. The current essay will
start by providing by general impact of COVID and the death data. Further the essay will outline
the impact created over healthcare sector in UK due to COVID. Moreover, the discussion will
also outline the impact of COVID over the UK economy and the social life as well.
COVID 19 in general
The current pandemic has affected the working of the company and the economy to a
great extent. The reason pertaining to the fact is that due to the fact that pandemic resulted in
economic shutdown and as a result of this economic performance of country declined. Hence, as
a result of this, there were negative impact over the working efficiency, GDP and other economic
aspects as well (Su and et.al., 2021). Along with this, the death of the people also increased and
many of the people and their life was also affected. Moreover, the pandemic also resulted in
fluctuation within the stock market and the return which the investment provided. This is
particularly because of the reason that stock market also faced the negative impact due to the
pandemic.
With the analysis of the above chart it is clear that in the month of July 2021 the trend of
death was increasing. But in the month of August 2021 the number of death started to decline a
little bit.

Impact of COVID 19 over healthcare in UK
The current pandemic has also affected the health care sector of UK as well. the reason
pertaining to the fact is that after the first layer of pandemic resulted in impact over utilisation of
healthcare appliances and other related aspect. Moreover, another major impact being created
over the healthcare sector of UK was that there was a long waiting list for taking the treatment
and other medical procedure as there were many people suffering from COVID and other
diseases as well. moreover, there were also many people who were facing the issue of depression
and anxiety by viewing the situation and effects of COVID (Keogh-Brown and et.al., 2020).
Along with this another impact which was created by the pandemic over the healthcare was that
the mental health of the people was also affected to a great extent. the reason pertaining to the
fact is that in case of economic shutdown people were at their home and this resulted in increase
in mental pressure and anxiety. From March 2020 onwards there was increase in cases of
depression and anxiety and mental distress was high.
Impact of COVID 19 over the economy of UK
The economy of UK was affected to a great extent due to the current pandemic. The
reason pertaining to the fact is that the pandemic resulted in economic shut down and as a result
of this, operations of the economy were affected. Also the most prominent impact of pandemic
over the working of economy was reduction in employment of people (Bhattacharjee and
Lisauskaite 2020). The major reason for this, was that there was economic shut down and many
businesses were shut and as a result of this, there was increase in unemployment.

With the analysis of the above chart it is clear that there is increase in unemployment
since starting of January 2020 till end of 2020 that is December. With this information it can be
evaluated that unemployment is increasing with the increase in pandemic. In case the
unemployment is rising then this will affect the economy of UK in negative manner as large
number of people are not having any job (Nicola and et.al., 2020). Moreover, all the different
sectors within the economy were affected by the pandemic whether be it retail, hospitality,
transportation, healthcare, logistics and other were impacted negatively. Thus, this affected the
working of the economy to a great extent.
Impact of COVID 19 on social life
With the economic impact, the pandemic has also affected the working and social life of
the people to a great extent. the reason pertaining to the fact is that due to the pandemic the
perception and thinking of people has been affected to a great extent. this is particularly because
of the reason that due to the economic shutdown people were not allowed to go anywhere
(Sherif, 2020). This has resulted in the increase in depression and anxiety of people and also the
social life in negative manner. People were also not allowed to meet anyone and also social
gathering were restricted and this affected the mental health and status of the people to a great
extent.
In addition to this, the working and efficiency of the people and their social life was
affected to a great extent. in addition to this, the precaution of social distancing also affected
some of the people and their living status. The reason underlying this fact is that due to social

distancing and event being restricted people were not allowed to go anywhere and this affected
the working and social life to a great extent. moreover, with the pandemic the transportation was
also stopped and no person was allowed to travel from one place to another and this also
demotivated them and affected their social life (Murray and et.al., 2021). With respect to the
social life there was only one medium through which the people maintained their social life that
is use of social media platforms. This was assistive to the people in improving their mind set and
to pass the time during the lockdown.
Conclusion
In the end from the above essay it is concluded that the current pandemic has affected the
working capability of the economy to a great extent. the reason pertaining to the fact is that
because of COVID 19 there was economic shut down and this resulted in negative impact over
the working and running of economy. This impact was over the health care, economy of UK and
social life as well.
