2.1 Part A- First aid requirement
XYZ cares for life of workers on site. The company is working to ensure that there are zero
incidences at the construction site. The company has a dedicated WHS manager who works
on site fulltime. The company plans to employ 40-50 workers on the site each day on
Strathfield Apartment project. The company intends to employ 3 trained and experienced first
aiders on site who shall uphold Safe Work Australia guidelines in conjunction with Work
Health Safety Act.
As per Safe Work Australia, it is a requirement to employ at least one first aid for every 50
works in areas which are termed as low-risk such as offices, for 25 workers in workplaces
that are considered as high risk such as construction sites, and for 10 workers in workplaces
that are remote and have a high risk, such as mine site.
The XYZ company will be in close consultation with the QHSE manager in matters regarding
subcontractors and employees in regard to safety matters. The manager shall identify all
hazards related to any task, assess the possibility and risk, provide necessary trainings and
safety induction and revise the requirement depending with the situation at hand.
All records related to subcontractors and employees shall be kept by the site manager. The
Health Records Act dictates that the records should include;

2.4 Part D- Site specific Induction Plan

Description of the Site
Site Name: The Strathfield Apartments
Location Address: The Boulevard, Strathfield NSW 2135
The scope of work on this project include demolition of the building structures that exist on
the site and construction of a new residential apartment which shall consist of five story
building and a basement parking.
Amenities on site
On this site, specific amenities shall be constructed to cater for heath and safety of the
workers on site. The following are some of the important amenities that will be used on this
site;
a. Subcontractor’s amenities which will be located at the far end of the site. Most
importantly, it should have portable loo, and a shed for taking meals
b. Toilets which will be situated at the rear end of the site
c. First aid box
d. The boardroom shall be used in conducting trainings and induction
It is worth noting that all the subcontractors on site should ensure that their amenities are kept
as clean as possible to avoid health related issues. Dustbins to be provided where dirt will be

The front gate shall be utilized as the only area to access the site. The access shall be
regulated time to time depending with job progress. The deliveries and site entry shall be
made via the front gate. Memo shall be given in connection to variation on entry to the site.
First aid
The first aid kit shall be well equipped and will be located at the site shed. It shall comply
with Occupational Health and Safety standards. Any accident occurring on site shall be

The company shall prepare SWMS after having consulted with employee regarding the
nature and type of work to be undertaken. Safe work method statement should outline all
activities to be undertaken in a given task, hazards and methods of reducing the impact of the
hazard in case it happens.
Safety data sheets
All material and chemical termed as hazardous supplied on site, the supplier shall be required
to bring MSDS with him which is still valid. The validity is defined as not more than 5 years
old. All subcontractors on site are not exempted from supplying their MSDS to the site
manager.
