a. First Aid Requirement on the site:
Some of the activities considered to be high risk in Safe Work Australia in any
construction project include manual tasks, electricity, working at heights and working with
heavy plants and equipment (Rothmore, Aylward, & Karnon, 2015). On this site, there are
multiple stories and therefore each floor shall need first aid kit.
The kit shall need to contain items for the following first aid operation:
a) Scratches, cuts, grazes, punctures and splinters
b) Strains and muscular sprains
c) Burns
d) Bleeding and wounds, amputation
e) Broken bones
f) Injury on eyes and
g) Shock
Personnel
On this site, a minimum of 1 trained personnel shall be required to for first aid ticket
for every 25 employees. Evacuation and emergency plans shall be elaborated on site.

Description of task, risk and control measures
Major Task
The main task involved is the lifting of heavy weight materials from the ground
floor to the third floor. The weights are lifted with the help of a mobile crane.
Hazards and Risks
Since the weights are being lifted from the ground floor to the 3rd floor, there is a
possibility of blind spots and the operator of the crane may not be in a good
position to view well (American Industrial Hygiene Association, 2005). The
weights are mostly suspended in the air and for this reason there is a possibility of
falling hence injuring people and property near the construction site. This might
cause death or injury to people working in these areas and damage in properties.
Control Measures
There is a need to employ a dogman who shall be situated at the 3rd floor to help
the crane operator in viewing the area (Seraji, 2006). Employees working below
the crane need to put on helmet and wear the correct personal protection

equipment (PPE). At all time, the construction site needs to be cleared from
people and no work shall be carried out on the ground beneath the working area.
d. Employees working on this site must be trained on safety regulations on
construction site. Evacuation plans and emergency response must be discussed in
advance and made accessible to all employees. Accessibility may be achieved by
pinning the procedures on the posters where everyone can view them. Everyone
working on this site shall ensure that correct PPE is worn before entering the
construction site. Method statement for each activity to be conducted must be
handed in to the safety officers and individuals carrying out the activity. Fire
safety equipment must be in a good working condition. All amenities on site must
