INTRODUCTION
Personal development is a technique, which gives opportunity to the employees of construction
industry, and the business enterprise to learn new skill to meet the challenges arises in the
organization and learns how to achieve the individual goals and goals of organization ( Frich et
al., 2015). This technique helps in development of new skills among the groups and individual
employees. In this case, study analysis the skill that I required for effectively working in the
construction industry. I as a employee of construction industry also analysis what resources I
required to achieve the organization goals and my own carrier goals. For this, I prepare
Personal Development Plan and Action Plan for my skills. In this, I identify my current skills,
need of improvement in my skill, also take information from the colleagues and the manager
about which skill is less efficient, and make my efforts to improve these skills. In this case, study
I also prepare the personal development plan for improving my skill and Action plan should
made to analysis how this improved skill help me to achieve my carrier goals after 3 years.

SELF-ANALYSIS OF MY PERFORMANCE AND SKILL
The main objective of any construction company is to give a good quality services and make a
good relationship with the customer and architects. Self-analysis is most important it help us to
analysis our performance level and to improve the performance which skills I require improving
(Wright et al., 2016). After the analysis, I need to improve my communication skill, coordination
skill, adaption of new technology, team working and mechanical skill. This self-analysis of skill
also help us to achieve my carrier goals and the goals of organization.
Coordination: It is necessary for the construction employee to have knowledge how to
coordinate with team members, suppliers and equipment. This skill is most important for the
manager of Construction Company because it also help the superiors and managers in the
coordinating projects(Wright et al., 2016).
Written and Oral Communication: Communication is most crucial skill of Construction
Company. It is necessary for the employee of any construction company to communicate the
team members and decision-making. They write emails and other information related to their
jobs in the construction work and for this, they use written communication (De et al., 2016)
Adapt New Technology: There is continuous change in the technological environment. In this
modern world, construction employee always willing to learn new software and various
devices, which makes the construction work easy and simple. The employee who is willing to
use this technology can learn how to take advantage from this technology (De et al., 2016).
Work in a Group: It is a team-oriented job. The worker who does not like to work in a group or
team does not do their work properly in the construction industry. The work done in a team
gives us a good result and construction done according to the requirement of client (De et al.,
2016).
Mechanical Knowledge: It is necessary for the employee of a construction company to have
knowledge about how task is completed and if someone does not have mechanical, knowledge
and knowledge of how to construct a building are not able to complete the task of job. There is

necessary for the employee of a construction industry and for this, he receives a training to
learn this technical and mechanical skill (Wright et al., 2016).

I prepare the personal development plan this helps me to analysis my current skills and which
skill I need to improve. After analysis, the skill, which I need to improve for effectively, done my
work in Construction Company (Detsimas et al., 2015). I also decide which skill has more
priority level for my work and what strategies and resources I used to improve my skill. I also
analysis the time taken by me to improve my skill and after that I take feedback about
improvement done in my less efficient skill from the manager and my colleagues who work with

ACTION Plan
After analysis the skill which have a required to make improvement. I used the various
resources like reading books, attend a seminars and conferences, received training from the
manager, use internet to know the information about new technologies. All this resources and
strategies help me to improve my communication skill, adaption of new technology skill,
coordination skill, and mechanical skill. All this skill is important for effectively working in a
construction company. After improving this skill, I get a feedback from the superiors, colleagues
and managers about improvement in my skill and measure my success criteria. Now I make a
action plan for 5 year (Kiruja and Mukuru, 2018). In this action plan I make an analysis about
how I see myself after five year and how this skill help me to achieve my carrier objective to
became a manager in a well named construction company. These skills will help me to achieve
my future goals and carrier growth in new construction industry.
