Introduction
This assignment aims at providing an overview and understanding of system analysis and design.
This assignment emphasis on gaining information about system tools, analysis, techniques, and
methods. The assignment helps to understand the use of tools for project management and
developing and designing a system within the time limit. The company CPM has been selected
that a sales and marketing-based company which is situated in Australia. CPM is a part of CPM
International Group. In this document, solutions for the system has been designed and
implemented along with the process flow. It also includes identification of the issues.
The assignment consists of various tasks which help to develop a new solution for the company.
First task is to design a time management plan to which divided the assigned tasks and problems
into sub-tasks along with the given timelines for each task. In the second task, a “TO BE”
process diagram is designed which is helpful to illustrate the future state of BPM. In the third
task, the “TO BE” process is compared with the current “AS IS” process of the organization. In
task 4, an ERD for the business is created as per the solution provided. The ERD is designed in
its full 3 NF form in task 5.

Task 1: Time Management Plan
There are three main aspects of any project – time, scope, and budget. Out of the three main
aspects of project management, time management is the most important one. For the successful
completion of a project within the specified timeframe, it is very essential to design an efficient
and effective time management plan. As a business system analyst, a proper time management
plan has been planned and designed that would allow each and every task “TO BE” completed
within a sufficient amount of time so that the project can be completed before its deadline.
For a better time, management plan, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is developed that
defines the completion of every milestone on time. If each and every phase completes on its
defined timeframe, the whole project can be completed on time before the deadline.
A Work breakdown structure is a hierarchical structure that breaks down the larger complete
project into smaller modules. The smaller project modules are easily manageable and can be
completed within defined timeframe. To design the WBS for CPM, I have divided the complete
project into 7 modules including planning of project, background of organization, problems and
contests, planning of time management, research analysis, reporting, and final documentation
(Amato, et al. 2014).
This WBS serves the purpose to identify each task in your project and allow an estimated
duration to it.

enhancements “TO BE” made so as to improve the business process of the company in the
future. The “TO BE” model designed is supposed to improve the CPM Company’s sales and

Task 3: Comparison between “AS IS” and “TO BE” Process
To compare both “TO BE” and “AS IS” process of CPM, we will refer “AS IS” process
mentioned in assignment 1.
The “TO BE” process is far much better than the current “AS IS” process of the CPM business.
Even though the current “AS IS” process model includes the local area marketing, campaigns,
sponsorship programs, etc. the main issue or challenge faced by CPM lies in local area
marketing.
To solve the challenges faced in local area marketing, the “TO BE” process introduces the
segmentation of the marketing strategies. The marketing strategies may include roadshows,
maximizing customer interactions, advertisements, social sharing, and gatherings, etc.
To maximize the reach to customers and introduce the products and services offered, the
company should take advantages of this technological world. They shall consider promoting
their products and services on social media platforms, and through online advertisements. CPM
shall design and develop a website that offers a rich user interaction and the business models and
services of the company (Sharon & Dori 2015).
Table 1: Comparison between AS IS and TO BE process
AS-IS Process TO-BE Process
The current working business process state. Future business process state model.
Less efficient and effective process. More efficient and effective to maximize
business growth.
Challenges are faced during local area
marketing.
Challenges are resolved in the new process.
Common, less effective marketing strategies
like roadshows, campaigns, etc.
New strategies like online advertisements,
social sharing & gatherings, social media, etc
along with the old strategies
