1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION (TOTAL = 4 MARKS)
1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION, BACKGROUND AND MAJOR DELIVERABLES (1
MARK)
Response Table
1 Description Project management is considered to be one of the
most difficult parts to do as it involves a lot of work to
be done. The School of Engineering and Technology
(SET) Indigenisation Committee (The Committee
wants to establish five education hubs if different parts
of Australia to promote more knowledge.) CQU
University is helping to do this but for the Indigenous
Studies Project.
2 Background The aboriginal people need to be targeted because the
whole plan is going to be based on the traditional
culture of Australia. CQU is considered to be one of the
best in providing education hence is has been chosen
to represent for the education hubs.
3 Major Deliverables The main deliverable that is present is to develop a
project that would help in achieving this. It should also
be seen that the places that the educational hubs are
being established have to be asked by the landowners.
So all of the little aspects like stakeholder management
or risk assessment would also be seen so that the
project is successful.

2.3 STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATION (1 MARK)
Response Table
Communication Method Interactive, Pull or Push Justification
Boardroom Meetings
Face to Face conversations
Interactive Both parties that are
involved in the discussion
can lay out their points if
necessary. This is good for
the project as it will help in
the management of all of
the work (Mavridis 2015).
Memo Push Would remind the
workforce about the time
that they have left in order
to complete the project on
time. There would be not
discussion and only would
be a one-way message.
Email Pull If the workers do not read
the information then it
would not necessarily have
that much of a big effect.
Emails are given on seeing
what the performance of
the workers can be hence
only managers would need
to look at it.

This author shows how meetings have an
effective use project. These meetings would help
in seeing what the issues that are being faced
hence solving them in a quick and efficient
manner. Also, it would be discussed on what can
be the changes that would help in increasing the
performance of the whole project.

3. REQUIREMENTS MANAGEMENT (TOTAL = 5 MARKS)
3.1 TRADITIONAL CUSTODIAN/S OF THE LAND ON WHICH CQ UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES
ARE LOCATED (1 MARK).
Response Table
If there is only one stakeholder which is present then he would be only responsible for
looking at for one of the educational hubs. But there are five educational hubs present and
one stakeholder would not be enough to look after them. The controlling of all of the
operations would not be that much effective hence more than one key stakeholder is
required for the successful completion of the project (Mitchell et. al. 2015).
3.2. OPENING STATEMENT STYLE (1 MARK)
Response Table
The opening statement should be ‘Acknowledgement of Country'. This would be done
because the aboriginal people would be more satisfied that the statement is welcoming
them in a traditional way. Moreover, the statement is more of an ethical term that helps
in capturing the emotions of the people. So these factors should be seen by the Project
Board while making it in the ceremony (Markwick et. al. 2015).
3.3 REQUIREMENTS GATHERING FOR CQU EDUCATIONAL HUBS FOR INDIGENOUS
STUDIES PROJECT (1 MARK)
Response Table
This strategy should not be adopted by the project board. The senior supplier has detailed
information about the Vietnamese people and this would cause issues as the main targets
are the Aboriginal society of Australia. The culture and values would differentiate a lot
hence making it an irresponsible move from the side of the supplier. More of a detailed
report of the targeted audience because then only the success of all the education hubs
would be guaranteed (Anderson, 2015).
3.4 REQUIREMENTS TRACEABILITY (0.5 MARK)
Response Table
Being 5 educational hubs which are present in the project there is a requirement of
certain documents that will determine the progress of the project. One of the main
documents that can be used is the identification of the objectives. This would help in
seeing where each task in the project should be focused on. The work breaks down
structure is another important document because it would define how each of the tasks
of the project is to be done. A time frame would be decided in this document and also a
price is put in according to the budget hence seeing what activity should take the most
time.

PMMP 20008 – Initiating and Planning Projects (T2) Assignment 2
3.5 REQUIREMENTS PRIORITIZATION PROCESS (1 MARK)
Response Table
Requirement Prioritization is used to see which is the task that should be given priority
over the other. This is done so that the main activities are done first hence giving away for
the others to be done. For example, the making of a budget would have to be done
beforehand so that the resources required for other activities do not go overboard and stay
within the financial lane.
One of the processes that can be used in this technique is the ranking one. This is
considered to be one of the easiest ways to give each of the activities priority. Each of the
activities should be ranked according to the importance hence completion of such activities
would be done quicker. These are the activities in which most problems and issues are
seen due to which they must be done first. The ranking system would help the
stakeholders in seeing which of the work needs to be done in each of the educational
hubs. It is not necessary that all of the hubs would have the same priority in the level of
activities.
3.6 MoSCoW TECHNIQUE (0.5 MARK)
Response Table
# Components Explanation
1. Should Have There are those resources that
could have been used for the project
but were not considered to be that
much crucial for it.
2. Must-Have There are those factors that are
necessary for the project and without it
the project would not succeed at all.
These are the most crucial factors or
resources that are needed at any cost.
3. Could Have These are not that much necessary for
the project but if they could have been
possessed then it would have
benefited the project.
4. Will Not Have These are those factors which are not
needed for the project at all. There
would be no effect if these are used in
the activities hence making them
insufficient.

4 SCOPE (TOTAL = 10 MARKS)
4.1 INTRODUCTION TO SCOPE (1 MARK)
Response Table
The work break down structure helps in seeing what will be the activities that will be
performed. Each of the activities is done in sequential order so that work can be done in
an effective manner. Knowing the facility space like the location and talking to the owners
so that the location can be procured. When the location is decided then only will the rest of
the work be done. There is a specific time frame which is decided and also a budget is
decided for the whole activity to be completed. The next is the development of the
education hubs. The construction phase would be done first and after this the hiring of the
staff that would need to run the education hubs.
The last activity is of activities involved in the opening ceremony. It would need to be
identified how many people will attend and their full responsibility needs to be taken. It
should be noted that the ceremony should be showing the educational hub benefits along
with the aboriginal society.
