1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION (4 MARKS)
1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND
The present report is going to highlight the interest of the School of Engineering and
Technology Indigenisation Committee in the projects that offer visibility to the oldest
living culture of the world. This can be done by acknowledging the traditional owners by
creating a name or changing the name of the chosen CQU premises in honour of
regional or local indigenous tribes. This project is comprised of selected appropriate
premises that are operated by CQU. In addition to this, constructing and erecting signs,
organising naming ceremonies to commemorate the event and plaques are also
considered or included in this report. Multiple premises along with naming ceremonies
would occur in various campuses of CQU. The committee also attempted to bring the
indigenous artists as well as a performer in the naming ceremonies. This becomes
possible after some discussions. Furthermore, information is asked by the Chair of
Committee so that they can increase their ideas with the relevant funding body. After that
Committee get agreed for releasing a project plan that would coincide with the National
Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee week 2020.
1.2 JUSTIFICATION
The outcome of current work celebration project od NAIDOC is to complete events and
activities properly. The main motto and aim of this celebration and event is nothing but to
give training to the students as well as staffs of the University about cultural awareness.
Some of the limitations have occurred that is associated with the costing and timing
which is used to manage the project successfully along with all activities that are needed
by the NAIDOC committee. The results gained here are considered as the outputs that
would prove to be beneficial for the committee as well as the students. This event will
assist students in improving their skills and knowledge. The other objective of this event
is to acquire the knowledge and education regarding the norms, culture and the history
of the Torres Strait Islander Community. The outputs, benefits, and results that are
