AI Summary
This report presents an Entity Relationship (ER) diagram for the CQUnited Property Management (CQUPM) database system. The assignment focuses on designing a relational database to manage rental properties, customers, staff, and rental activities. The ER diagram illustrates the entities such as customers, external employees, employees, owners, managers, property managers, and properties, along with their attributes and relationships. The report also includes business rules derived from the ERD, explaining the relationships between different entities, and the benefits of implementing the ERD. The database design aims to efficiently record and track property details, customer information, and staff data, ensuring effective management of rental properties. The document concludes that the ERD aids in managing activities, improving organizational performance, and enhancing user understanding. The bibliography includes references to relevant database design and ERD literature.

3DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Introduction
The aim of this report is to develop an ER diagram based on the CQ united property
management database system. The database management system of CQUnited is basically an
Australian owned business that has focused its architecture in managing the rental property and
relevant services. The main aim is to develop a relational database that will be used for the
purpose of performing the critical backend software components associated with the enterprise
management system. As a database analyst it is essential to ensure that the proposed database
system will be developed with including all the necessary details for tracking and recording the
data associated with properties, staffs and rental activities. The report will provide an effective
ERD design for benefitting the customers.
About the case study
CQUnited Property Management (CQUPM) focuses on developing the database system
that will be able to handle the main activities that takes place within the system. The major
objective of the organization is to manage the rental estate from the different property owners.
The system will include the people who will be responsible for recording the property details.
This will focus on including the details regarding the owner of the properties, customers and the
employees who are working on making the rental properties well furnished. The database system
will store all the essential data including the names, addresses, and contact phone numbers. The
property will be managed effectively so that it can support the overall performance of the system.
The main aim behind developing a database management system is that it will ensure that all
essential data are being stored in correspondence with the properties that are owned by them.

This will ensure better performance throughout the organization. ER model will focus on
enhancing the features and will ensure better understanding towards the users.

Business rules based on ERD
Entity relationship diagram is being developed for the purpose of providing support
towards the database. Entity relationship diagram helps in maintaining the model between the
entity and customers. The main reason behind designing an ERD is that it helps in organizing the
relational structure of an organization effectively. The main components of an ERD include a
conceptual data model, logical data model, and physical data model. CQPM is an organization

that mainly focuses on dealing with the rental properties and manager will only accept the
entrusted rental management who are associated with the real estate from property owners. The
property can be anything house or apartment. There is a need to record all the property within the
system so that it can state the property type at the time of rentals. This data will include the data
of property along with the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and the weekly rental property
schedule along with the available date. Customer will be allowed to choose the property and will
be processed by the property manager. Property manager can manage a property at a time. On
the other hand manager can take care for multiple properties. Property manager will also focus
on supervising on other managers. External employee is responsible for performing the repair
jobs as the request. The external employee can be any licensed person who will focus on
removing the major issues. The system will mainly store the data related to property, customers
and the external employees. It can be stated that with the implementation of this database
management system it will become easy to manage the activities. This will also ensure that the
organization is able to execute the performance effectively. The system is being designed in such
a way that it will consider the property ID and property type as strong entities. Before processing
any rental data it becomes essential to ensure that all data are being enlisted in the customer
section.

Benefits of implementing ERD
Entity relationship diagrams are considered as the best tools for communicating system
the entities of entire system. This is in the form of conceptual database model that has the
potential to create an effective way of communication with the individuals at all the levels. This
ensures that high flexibility is being offered towards the system and ensures that user is able to
design the system effectively. The main advantages that are offered with the use of ER diagram
towards the organization. CQUnited Property Management (CQUPM) is an Australian‐owned
business that ensures all the rental property is being made available towards the customers for
services.
Conclusion
Thus from the above report it can be concluded that with the help of ERD diagram it
will become easy to manage the activities. CQUnited Property Management (CQUPM) is an
Australian‐owned business mainly focuses on providing proper rental facilities towards thee
customers. The proposed database system will focus on recording and tracking all the essential
data along with list of properties customers, staff and relevant rental activities. The report has
