Project
AI Summary
This research project examines the effects of creatine supplementation on resistance training performance, specifically focusing on the bench press in physically active adults. The project begins with an introduction to creatine and its benefits, followed by a detailed methodology section outlining the search strategy, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and quality assessment tools used in the review of two articles. The results, discussion, and research recommendations are presented, along with an ethics form and references. The first article explores the impact of creatine supplementation on muscle performance during high-intensity resistance exercise, while the second investigates the influence of different creatine supplementation dosages on the muscle performance of aging adults. The project utilizes narrative synthesis to combine and analyze the data from these studies, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of creatine's role in enhancing muscle strength and performance.

INTRODUCTION
Creatine supplement can be referred to as an organic compound that helps in improving
strength and increase lean muscle mass. It also helps the muscles to recover quickly during
exercise. The creatine compound is also found in foods such as seafood as well as red meat. In
older adults and athletes, creatine is most commonly used for improving exercise performance as
well as increasing the overall muscle mass. The compound is basically involved in making the
energy that is required the muscles to work effectively. The project includes a review of five
different articles on the topic “In physically active adults, does creatine supplement aid in
enhancing resistance training performance, specifically bench press”. Resistance training helps in
increasing the overall strength of the muscles against a weight. There are different forms of
resistance training such as using free weights, resistance bands as well as weight machines. The
rationale behind conducting this review is to develop an enhanced understanding if creatine helps
in improving performance in resistance training in physically active adults especially in bench
pass. This will help in enhancing the overall knowledge of the readers about the importance of
creatine supplement. By reviewing different articles, the researcher will be able to analyze the
findings of the studies.
Methods
Article 1
Search strategy
A systematic research was conducted in order to understand the influence of oral
supplementation of creatine on muscle performance during high-intensity resistance exercise.
During the search, different databases were referred to in order to find the most relevant article.
Various key words as well as synonyms were considered and different studies were found.
Inclusion/exclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria refers to the key features of the target audience that the researcher uses
in order to answer he research question. The inclusion criteria for this research were 14 men who
were physically active. On the other hand, exclusion criteria refers to the set of pre-defined
definitions that are used for identifying subjects who are not included in the study 0or they have
withdrawn themselves after being included (Creatine Supplementation Enhances Muscular
Document Page
Performance During High-Intensity Resistance Exercise.,2021). The exclusion criteria for this
study were women and men who were not active. Also, studies older than 10 years are not
included in this study.
Screening and selection (PRISMA Flowchart)
Justification and description of quality assessment tool
The quality assessment tool used in the respective study is Critical Appraisal Checklist.
The rational behind choosing a checklist was that it helps in reducing the overload of information
by eliminating studies that are weak or biased. Apart from this, the checklist also helps in
distinguishing evidence from assumptions opinions, belief and misreporting. As a result, the
researcher is able to assess the overall usefulness of the study along with its applicability.
Justification and description of synthesis method
A narrative synthesis has been used in the study as there are many advantages of using
the same. First of all, it provides a systematic view of the data and organizing the same
effectively. Narrative synthesis can be defined as an approach for systematically reviewing the
findings of a study that is primarily based on the use of words as well as texts to summarize and
explain the same.

database was used, which a large database in order to obtain the appropriate study. The data base
provides a wide range of full text research articles. The database is a British international
organization that was basically formed in order to organize the different findings of medical
research in order to facilitate a better decision-making process. The strategy for searching the
appropriate and relevant article was finding appropriate keywords and then using the same in
order to find the relevant studies.
Inclusion/exclusion criteria
The inclusion criteria of the study were participants who were creatine high, creatine
moderate or Placebo. By selecting the inclusion criteria helps in optimizing the external as well
as internal validity of the study, improve its overall feasibility as well as minimize ethical
concerns (Effect of Creatine Supplementation Dosing Strategies on Aging Muscle Performance,
2021). On the other hand, exclusion criteria for this study were older people who did not have
any creatine intake.
Screening and selection (PRISMA Flowchart)
Justification and description of quality assessment tool
The quality assessment tool, research paper rubric was used in order to assess the overall
quality of the research. Rubrics are important because they clarify the qualities that the student’s
work should have. Rubrics assist college students, dad and mom and instructor pick out what
exceptional work is. Students can judge their own work and accept more duty of the very last
product. Rubrics assist the instructor to effortlessly explain to the student why they got the grade
that they acquired. Rubrics are multidimensional sets of scoring recommendations that may be
used to provide consistency in evaluating student work. They spell out scoring criteria so that
multiple instructors, using the same rubric for a scholar's essay, as an instance, might arrive at
the identical score or grade. Rubrics are crucial because they make clear for college students the

features their paintings must have. This factor is regularly expressed in phrases of college
students understanding the gaining knowledge of goal and criteria for fulfillment.
Justification and description of synthesis method
Narrative synthesis is a commonplace approach to the synthesis of records in systematic
evaluations, but methodological guidance on the behavior of narrative syntheses is restrained. As
a end result, in evaluations wherein statistical or different formal strategies of pooling of
statistics isn't always feasible or suitable, strategies to summarising and supplying findings
narratively is various and frequently insufficient. Narrative synthesis is going past the act of
honestly describing and summarising the main features of protected research. It allows research
of similarities and variations among studies, exploration of relationships inside the information
and evaluation of the strength of the evidence, and results in a precis of expertise associated with
a specific overview query that may be used to inform practice or policy. Therefore, a narrative
synthesis has been used in this research.
