Describe
Michael Horton has written a comprehensive text of creation and its meaning. He
describes how people do not understand creations (Horton 1994, 29). He explains several aspects
that people do not know yet they are important. For example, the role of God in His creation and
how to leave in this world is part of the text. The text has an extensive revelation that helps
Christians.
Analysis
People have always viewed creation and the fall of man in an incomplete way. Every
creation that God made was good, including human beings. Although Adam and Eve sinned, it
was not because of God’s fault. These two made a wrong decision and they had to face the
repercussion. When people understand Christianity and their relationship with God, they will be
happy.
Evaluation
Horton’s text is an eye opener to fundamental principles that people need to know. He
demystifies some areas of creation that people misconceive. Through learning about the creation,
people will live better lives than through ignorance (Oliver 2017, p54). Another essential thing is
to conduct examination often. It is important to do personal examinations. They will identify
areas that require reviews or adjustments in my life.
Reflection
After reading Horton’s text, I have understood the creation in a new way. Many people,
especially Christians do not know the depth of insight within the creation (McGrath 2005, p25).
The particular part that has impressed me is the role of human beings in the creation. People
should know that they are the most important part of all creation. This evidence is in the image

of human beings. God created them according to His resemblance. While other creatures may
have similarities with people, they are not equal with them.
Understanding that people are the most important creation in the world is thrilling. If
people would believe it, they should never feel inferior or unimportant. They should hold high
self-esteem because they have a special place in this world and before God. Another important
lesson that is in the story of creation is having a relationship with God. This relationship plays an
essential role in revealing who we are to ourselves (Rylant 2016, p62). In other words, having a
relationship with God will help one to know themselves. God knows everyone since he is our
creator. Therefore, he knows each person.
The lesson on caring about others captured my attention. Some Christians think they
should not interact with non-believers. The Bible instructs us to love our neighbors, regardless of
their religious faith. This value is important because Christians should be a good example to the
world. All people were created by God and they are all important whether they have been
redeemed or not. The text has challenged me to become a good Christian and always reflect on
my relationship with God and people. Understanding oneself and God increases happiness in
life. It also fulfills the will of God to enjoy life. God created people to be happy in life and enjoy
it.
