Project
AI Summary
This project presents a creative solution and value proposition pitch, focusing on addressing a customer's need for energy efficiency. The assignment utilizes design thinking principles, including empathizing with the customer, defining their core issues (such as high electricity bills and children's behavior), generating potential solutions (solar panel installation and sensor-controlled appliances), and testing the proposed solution. The value proposition pitch emphasizes how the solution alleviates the customer's pain points, such as financial stress and the inconvenience of managing energy consumption, while highlighting the gains of reduced bills, environmental benefits, and increased convenience. The pitch emphasizes the importance of understanding every detail of the customer and crafting a human-centered narrative. The project concludes with recommendations, including exploring government subsidies to promote the adoption of the proposed solution.

INTRODUCTION
Design thinking is procedure of problem solving in creative way. Its core is human
centred which encourages entities to focus on people they are creating things for which further
leads to better processes. The selected personnel for this project is Elizabeth Smith. The issue at
hand is that Elizabeth children are not helping her to save electricity which is causing her stress.
Through detailed design thinking process, the final solution has been assessed that Elizabeth can
install solar panel to save energy and contribute her part in saving electricity. The process used
for design thinking comprise of empathise which emphasis on gaining proper understanding of
the issues whose solutions are explored (Dennis, 2018). It allows to set aside own assumptions
about a situation and look through the person who is facing the challenge. Next process is
defining, where the information about Elizabeth and her children has been assessed and analysed
of their core issues. Major issue Elizabeth is facing are her children not turning off appliance and
lights when not in use as well as her tight budget which does not allow her to invest in energy
efficient appliances. Next process is to generate ideas that best match with Elizabeth case. It
allows to think outside of box and identify best possible solutions to Elizabeth's problems. It is
good to generate more than one idea in this process as sometimes group of ideas results in giving
proper solution for issues. Final process is test where the idea proposed that Elizabeth invest in
installing solar panels in easy monthly payments where she does not have to worry about her
tight budgets for a month. Elizabeth can teach her children about the advantages of energy-
efficient and can also take available grants by government which provides necessary loans to
people to install solar panels at their home at economically low prices.
Value proposition pitch
The value proposition pitch presents value to Elizabeth as she will now be able to save
her electricity bill and would not have to take extra stress of her children not switching off lights
and appliances. The value proposition canvas of this situation is described below: Products or services- This allows thinkers to provide solution in terms of products and
services to Elizabeth. In this case, they are offering to install solar panel at her house and
provides them with appliances with censor that automatically turns if no one is in the
room for more than twenty minutes (Hilliard, 2021). This will solve Elizabeth's problems

of her children not switching off appliances and will result in reducing her stress of
increased electricity bill. Pain relievers- It will facilitates Elizabeth to see how proposed products and solution will
palliate her problems which she tried to overcome from long time. Value proposition
pitch allows firms to evaluate pain of customers in effective manner. In this case,
Elizabeth's pain were stress and worry about her financial situation, not being able to
invest in energy efficient appliances due to tight budget and rising prices of utility
everywhere else (Olson and Cohen, 2019). The pitch will cover most of these pain so that
it can relive Elizabeth from pain. After installing solar panel, Elizabeth will be relived of
her children not switching off appliances and will not have to pay extra electricity bills
which will further reduce her stress.
Gain creators- It highlights how products and services offered create gains which
Elizabeth desires. Installing solar panel will help Elizabeth in long run thus she does not
have to worry about energy efficient measures. This way Elizabeth will be able to benefit
the environment and will be able to save more (Valeiras-Jurado and Ruiz-Madrid, 2020).
Elizabeth worry about not being able to do enough for family will be solved. Elizabeth
will be able to fit in her area as majority of houses has installed it.
By pitching and storytelling to build a convincing argument, I have learned that knowing
every minor detail about person for whom we are presenting value proposition is essential to
make an effective pitch. It is important to analyse all the micro and macro reliefs customers will
gain after taking proposed solution. A convincing argument comprises of every issues which the
customers is facing so that they can feel that they are heard. It should be reformed according to
customers problems and the core of pitch must be human centred. It allows me to give logical
reasons on why Elizabeth should invest in solar panel by providing her facts and real life
examples (Vemuri and Cohen, 2019). It involves clearly showing advantage which presented my
point of view of Elizabeth's problems. This facilitates Elizabeth to see that the pitch is not only
reasonable but also advantageous. I will try to show the products and services by tying a
narrative following a strong structure.
CONCLUSION
From the information presented above, it has been concluded that value proposition pitch
allows to examine person's main issues and analyse the benefits that a product can offer. The

findings in this pitch are that Elizabeth is facing issues in saving energy and be more energy
efficient as her children usually forgets to switch off appliances and she has financial problems
which further creates stress. The pitch considers all the pain relievers and gain creators which the
Elizabeth will get as solution for her problems of not being able to save energy. The pitch
presents Elizabeth with solution to install solar panel on easy monthly installations and also
provide her with solution to invest in sensor controlled devices which will help Elizabeth save
electricity and contribute her part in saving moving to methods that benefits environment. My
recommendations for Elizabeth is to save some amount every month to be able to switch to solar
panel which will benefit her in long run. Elizabeth can also take government subsidies or loans
which are initiated for people who are looking to switch to more energy efficient appliances.
