Introduction
Innovation is considered as one of the most important asset, an organization is having
today. Innovation helps the organization to transform from good to great. Innovation should not
be only considers just a smart art. It must be consider as adoption of organization behavior with
novel ideas and threat. Innovation is also known as cost effective tool in the hands of the
organization, which helps them to save huge amount of cash spend on research and development
(Cerne, Jaklic & Skerlavaj, 2013). Many scholars believe that innovation is just thinking out of
box, it may be related to technology, information, present practices, values or social rules while
creativity is always connected with exploring or acting on new connections by putting life in to
it. In addition to this creativity is also related to aspect, which adds some value to the idea. Value
can be in any form like monetary, community, appealing or psychological. Creativity is not
someone’s personal traits and therefore can be developed in any person (Amabile, 2012). As per
the study, it has been explored that creativity is present in every person. The person needs to
identify its strength and then work in the particular direction. It has been found that creativity is
even found in people, which are not mentally stable, or men tally ill.
Creativity and innovation
In past time, creativity was associated with mystery, which occurs due to grace of god
and was often seen as immeasurable. In some part of the world, creativity is still connected with
the divine inspiration and in some cases; it is connected with good fortune.
But in 1950, creativity was connected with the mental ability of the person capable of
doing things differently which was recognized as mental flexibility. This research was very much
recognized by many scholars in 1970. They decided to work on the same direction but their
focus was mainly on the creativity of an individual. But soon this trend was observed in
organizations because they realized the importance of the creative and innovation in their
business operation (Yoshida et al., 2014). In addition organization has also added one more
important aspect on the platform of innovation and creativity, which is social context. Also
organization focused their interest on the work culture and environment setting which has direct
impact on the generation of creative thinking in the minds of the people working in the
organization. Current dynamic business world has actually forced the organization to adopt
innovation and creative as their important pillars in order to sustain (Baron & Tang, 2011).

Innovation and creative helps in bringing the necessary change in the organization, which
is important to bring competency in the operation, related to external business environment. In
every organization, innovation is not only connected to the organization but it is also connected
to the various stakeholders of the organization like employees, society and customers (Anderson,
Potočnik & Zhou, 2014). The entire stakeholder will automatically come under risk if idea will
not work successfully in the market.
Difference between innovation and creativity
Innovation and creativity is often used interchangeably but in real ground they are
different innovation is actually the combination of lot of competencies while creativity is related
to the activities in the form of mechanism that generates innovation. In addition to this, both
creativity and innovation is having different focus. Creativity is connected with the potential
ability of mind to generate novel ideas. It is not easy to measure the level of creativity because
they manifest many ways but can be properly shaped. Even creativity mechanism can be

to innovation, it can be measured because it is related with the implementation of change in the

creativity but actually they are in need of innovation. For suppose there is brain storming
meeting going on and people have display various amount of ideas but still this activity cannot
be named as innovation because none of the idea is being implemented. In innovation, people
usually take risk in order to transform their idea in to reality, which is not happening in creativity
(Surbhi, 2015). It can be said that each intervention, which has been implement in an
organization, is actually part of the innovation.
Innovation is connected to every single catalyst associated with the new product like
process, approach, type of model, association. Without implementing of these catalysts, it is
impossible to introduce new product in present business world. According to Peter Drucker,
innovation must not be linked with product only but it must be connected to the other aspects,
which plays important role in the development of the product (Business insider, 2013). In simple
words, innovation vision should not be restricted to the physical product. As per the study, it has
been seen that most successful innovation are seen in the business approach along with customer
services instead of the product especially companies like Dell, Amazon and Ali baba. Innovation
is mainly of two types incremental or radical. It has been seen that innovation, which are
associated with the product, belongs to incremental category. This approach when it comes to fix
the problem, which is in existence on immediate base.
Both creativity and innovation are interlinked with each other and therefore it is not
possible to bring innovation without creativity. Creativity actually offers the particular direction
on which work must be carried in order to bring innovation (Kell et al., 2013). But creativity can
be generate without innovation because it is the basic process of developing pool of ideas related
to product or service which are existing in the market. Creativity is not dependent on innovation
and therefore can work alone.

were expecting from our creative ideas. In addition, innovation still requires human
communication in order to become successful. No doubt, currently we have very advance
technology and agile system in our organization but still we are in need of human interaction.
Without human interaction, the success rate of innovation and creativity is very low. Innovation
is not just number game; it is actually a combination of dedicated work and constant failures in
attempts in order to introduce exciting result.

Due to globalization, present world is full of competition because both small and big
companies are operating in the same market. In addition to this, they are also fighting for the
same market profit share, which is actually decreasing the chances of sustainability in this

their life which shows that creativity can be developed with the help of experience.
Some of the best creative people examples are Nick bell, Taryn Williams, Alastair
Coleman and Alex Louey. These people have created their fortune through introducing
something unique with the help of innovation. The attributes, which make them different from
others, are believe in continuous improvement, do not limit innovation up to technology only and
right way to explore present opportunity. In addition to this one thing, which brings them on
same platform, is focus on mind mapping pattern. They first develop pools of ideas and then
after note down, they go for exploring the credibility of each idea on the base of requirement in
order to select most suitable idea (Hahn, Lee, & Lee, 2015).It will be always better to hire
creative people because they will always bring addition value to our company through their
unique ideas. These people have the attributes, which are very essential for the success of any
organization in this dynamic business world.
