INTRODUCTION
Every company need to manage health and safety of people as well as business. It is
important for entity to have skilled and capable individual for managing such work. Here, I am
going to revel about my and duties as a crew trainer in McDonald's. It depicts some barriers also
which I have faced during performing responsibilities under this company. Further more, it also
explains strategies and techniques through which I have proved myself as a good trainer. For this
purpose Gibbs model has been taken to reflect the entire scenario. The main purpose for this role
play is to understand employees of organisation and view issues related with cleanliness, health
and safety.

Description (What happened)
Here I am working as a crew trainer in McDonald's. I have been assigned different roles
and responsibilities in order to manager employees and staff of organisation. The responsibility
which I have to perform are managing staff from kitchen, front counter management, checking
dates and bin, to keep record of employees who have booked meals and the wastage and taken by
them. I should also ensure about use of yellow cone while they are mopping floor. I should
make sure about staff are separating vegetarian and meat tongs. I should check and keep staff of
organisation in positions so that they keep kitchen in organised way. After assessing roles and
responsibility to me. I need to force employees to follow it for maintaining environment of
kitchen to be healthy and safe. As every customer prefer to have clean and healthy food and
surrounding. It is very important for business to use proper act related to health and safety of
customer. I have also assigned work to provide training to staff for proper managing of kitchen
and using all equipment related with health and safety for better outcome.
The different responsibilities have been assigned to me which are going to be performed
by me in different ways in order to get better outcome. For managing kitchen staff, I should
provide them training related to use of equipment and use of cap while preparing foods. In case
of front counter, I should compel receptionist to wear proper uniform, greet each and every
customers visiting stores. Similarly, I should teach kitchen manager to check outdated and expiry
date products on regular basis. The receptionist should check and verify record on employees
who have booked their meals and proving them on timely and serving in best way. This helps in

Since this company work at large scale which includes various department for different
profile having high market value. When I joined this organisation as a fresher I had wonderful
feeling that I would learn new things and gain experience. As it is working in large scale so it
provide good opportunities for all category of people. After giving my good performance to
entity I had appointed to play role as a crew trainer and to cope up with organisation value it was
very pressurised for me. My feeling regarding management of new roles and responsibilities was
very excited as well as tough. It was totally a new job given to me where I have to play various
role at a time for effective running of organisation. Though it was very difficult for me to
manage all given task at beginning but afterwards I managed myself for given task.
My communication skill was good which was plus point for me to communicate with
staff and workers working in organisation as they easily understood what I was going to say and
follow instructions given to me. I got to learn new things and gain different experience through
this role play. Through this work, I also came to know that proper communication is required for
every task. My thinking was different before I played role but once I played, it totally changed
me because I learned various new things which is important for living in corporate world.

After playing role I faced both good as well as bad experience. These both experience
taught me something for better outcome. The good experience helps me in motivating and

customers more effectively and efficiently. As this is new and latest technology which has not
used by any other organisation. The employees working in entity denied to accept this
technology for used as they were more habitual with old concept. This created conflict with their
manager and subordinates. In this situation, I being crew trainer influenced employees working
in organisation for better outcome. For this I arranged meeting with working staff and worker to
make them realise to save their time and energy with use of latest technology. I also make them
aware about using of new things and upgrading knowledge, skills according to current scenario.
They listened to me very carefully but denied to use that adopted technology. Thus, being crew
trainer I should insist and motivate worker for using it.
In order to cope up with this situation, I made strategy for effective using of technology. I
made compulsory for every worker to use technology for week and see outcome. If they feel
comfortable working on it then they should use it. After a week I arranged meeting with staff and
asked views as they were very happy to use such technology which save their time, energy and

of money, gift, coupons which motivated them to give their best and perform good work. Thus,

to work. If I faced same problem again I could do it in different way. As soon as role assigned to
me I should go through books and journal to get knowledge about problem and solve
accordingly. I also need to learn more about issues so that exact solution can be found. There are
various skills that need to be improve by myself in order to work diligently. This can be improve
by reading books, solving problems in different ways and participating in various activities.
