This journal article is written by Cecchet S.J. and Thoburn, J. This journal is a peer
reviewed one and it was published in the year 2014 (Cecchet and Thoburn 2014). The impact of
the globalization and neo-liberalism has been much in terms of the sex trafficking in the United
States. The sex trafficking has been growing within the country and the common people are
much concerned about this matter.
It has been considered that there are various benefits for the neo liberalism and
globalization in this competitive business environment. However, the evil of human trafficking is
very much interconnected as well. The business environment should be business-friendly and
regulations should be there as well (Cecchet and Thoburn 2014). The human trafficking has been
reported because of shortage of labor. The several organizations want to cut off their labor costs
and this is the reason they are engaging the child labor to complete their works.
The size of states is being reduced and the various policies are in favor of being open to
the global opportunities. The organizations would have to be careful about this in case of global
expansion. It is because they can avail the employees at the cheap labor costs. The incidents of
human trafficking have increased because global business environment has been much market-
friendly (Cecchet and Thoburn 2014). The neoliberal approach to the economic policies can also
be attributed as the cause of the rapidly increasing human trafficking.

This piece of scholarly book is on the human trafficking and its connection to the neo
liberal economic approach and the globalization. The book is written by Alison Siskin and Liana
Sun Wyler (Siskin and Wyler 2012). The book was published in the year 2012. The book gives a
good insight into the chosen topic. The matter of globalization has put a large shadow on the
issue of the human trafficking in the large ways. The human trafficking has risen very rapidly
over the past few years. The woman and children have been badly misused in this sense.
Their efforts are utilized in the wrong manner by the several organizations as the form of
cheap labor. The governments across several countries, the European Union and the United
Nations are very much concerned about this factor. As the neo liberal approach of the economy
has led the organizational management to choose the labor in return of the cheap labor, they will
definitely choose the labor forces where they will have to pay less (Siskin and Wyler 2012). The
experts have always argued about the fact that the human trafficking will put the woman and
children population under the serious jeopardy. The migrant workers always want the proper
wages but most of the times the proper amount of wages is not given to them. This is the primary
problem related to the globalization and human trafficking.
