Crime prevention is a significant approach which is significant for reducing and
eventually oust crime from the society. It is an important national approach to build a crime
free community. Therefore, it is of extreme importance to be aware of the different
framework and typologies of crime prevention in order to implement to make the society
crime free, or at least to build a society having lesser crime rate. In Australia, the Australian
Institute of Criminology has developed the National Crime Prevention Framework which acts
as an effective method to prevent crime. Knowing the framework and typologies of crime
prevention would reduce the risk of crime occurring in the society, along with reducing the
harmful effect of crime in the society. The frameworks of crime prevention are implemented
on people, organisations, communities, institutions, businesses, governmental and non-
governmental organisation in order to target the population which has a higher chance of
increasing the risk factor of crime occurring in a particular society.
There are accumulated body of information regarding different techniques, strategies
and frameworks that are important to know in order to learn the various crime prevention
policies. Therefore, to prevent or abolish crime from the society, it is important to understand
the interventions that are implemented for the prevention of crime. Dissemination of
knowledge regarding the matter should be encouraged in order to make the society crime
free. In this regard, government have started various programs to make people aware of the
different strategies of crime prevention.
