INTRODUCTION
The criminal justice system consists of three broad elements which are law enforcement,
an adjudication and correction. This system is responsible for identification of the crime through
public services then justifies them and gives punishment thorough the court justice and finally
sending to correction homes to make a person better. In the present report detailed discussion
related with the role and responsibility of public service under criminal justice is done. Along
with this the role agencies play in establishment of fairer justice system is presented. Moreover,
use of crime data and figures is defined in proving or disapproving a crime. The evaluation of
this is also done to define the effectiveness of data and figures.

The Criminal justice system of the UK gives justice to those who have committed crime.
The justice system is a series of government agencies and institutions which have a single goal of
identifying and catch the unlawful individuals to inflict punishment on them.
Prison: is an integral part of the criminal justice system with having its own necessity
and essentiality. The prison services plays a vital role in upholding the rules of the law by
providing assistance in ensuring that the alleged offenders are brought to justice by giving them
sanction for the breach of law and committing serious offences (Fox, Bannister and Miszczak,
2016). The responsibility of the prison is to make sure that the offender remain captive in the
custody and cannot leave the prison until a valid order is given to release such offender.
Probation services: is a national service which is significantly responsible for supervision
of the offender in the community and provision of reporting to the criminal courts to provide the
assistance in the sentencing duty for the offender. This service is related with supervising the
offender which is an order given by the court than serving a time in prison. In certain condition
probation means to send an offender under community services.
Youth offending team (YOT): is multi agency team which is coordinated with the local
authorities and oversees the youth justice board (Youdell and McGimpsey, 2015). The YOT
deals with the young offenders, set community services and reparation plans from them. The
responsibility of this team is prevention of the youth reoffending and imprisonment. The Youth

the number of police records in the offences having involvement of firearms. For the years ended
30 September 2019 the number of robbery crime was 300. The cases of public order offences
were high to 2636, the number of cases for sexual offenses were 1660, rather the cases of
stalking and harassment were 2182. The case of violence with and without injury were
numbered to 5613 and 5744 respectively.
All there above data and percentage increase shows that there is a vast increases in the
offence where offender use knives and sharps object to hurt the other and they suffer major
injuries as there is increases in the number of those who were hospitalized. It can also be seen
that the cases of violence have also increase in 2018 where there is not much difference in the
case involving injury or not.
