Importance of final report
In the prosecution of a case, the final report is important because the report establishes what
happened from many witnesses not just from a single person, plus any evidence that was
collected. The final report establishes a timeline of the actions of the suspect so that the court
can logically follow. For a crime which is major for example murder can lead to a final report
that is several inches thick (Burns, 2007).
Impact of a poorly completed final report on a prosecution case
There is a specific way of writing a final report for the prosecution of a case. It is very
important that the report be detailed and precise because it will be the basis for a successful
prosecution (NEUBAUER, 2018). This means that the final report should use correct
grammar, spelling and punctuation as the report will be used against the victim in a court of
law. If the final report is vague and inaccurate, the evidence collected would not be valid and
the accused could go scot free as a result. Thus, it it is crucial to write accurate and complete
final reports (Hooper & Masters, n.d.).
What is the evidence in the in the stages of criminal justice process
A case under the Criminal Justice System begins at the moment when the complaint is made
or, failing that, with the arrest of the accused. But what happens next is that there are three
more stages of a case process.
1) Research

Subsequent to the complaint, it must be ensured that a crime was committed and who is the
person who probably committed it, of which the state ministry and the Police will be
responsible. When sufficient evidence is available to determine the existence of a possible
crime, witnesses and experts should be added to testify during the trial (Radek & Henning,
n.d.). The case will pass to the Control Judge, who will analyze the information and authorize
the State ministry to take the person charged to a trial. At that time, the accused must be
charged in a public hearing. This is where all the evidence in the crime scene is collected
(Belloni & Hodgson, 2000).
2) Intermediate
During this stage a debate takes place in which the accused and the victim will participate.
Both the State ministry and the defense, will present their evidence before the Judge of
Control and he will approve those that can take to the next phase (Padfield & Bild, n.d.).
3) Oral Judgment
The Judge of Oral Judgment will listen to the accused and the accuser, examine the evidence
that is displayed in the interrogations, finally to issue a sentence explaining orally whether the
accused is innocent or guilty (Belloni & Hodgson, 2000).Remember that in the Criminal
Justice System we have alternative options, in case of non-serious crimes, where you can

reach a solution without having to reach a trial. This allows to streamline the process and
achieve a common agreement in a simpler and more practical way.
Roles of a criminal investigator
The Legal Investigation Audit, as it is the justification of the Forensic Audit, is a
specialization of the traditional audit. It is no longer a matter of evaluating, reporting, or
simply presenting a problem so that it is corrected through internal controls or mechanisms in
an entity, company or institution and then monitored to measure efficiency and effectiveness.
Forensic Audit is, in fact, a very valuable tool in the application of justice, and must
therefore be a legal process that is derived from a series of protocols, such as the
authorization of an official entity (Prosecutor, Comptroller, Tax Reviser, A Civil or Criminal
Court Etc.)
The Forensic Audit is a multidisciplinary activity, where different professionals or experts,
led by a chief investigator, are well aware of their work in the judicial system and the
operational process for the collection of evidence that will serve to support the evidence
against an accused or those accused of the crimes that are during the investigation(Hooper &
Masters, n.d.).. No Auditor, no matter how much experience he may have, can begin an
investigation on his own, let alone usurp the police functions, or impersonate an official
investigator.
These professionals take care of the maintenance of the equipment they use. They also
perform administrative tasks, such as preparing and writing reports, statements and other
documentation(NEUBAUER, 2018).. They also keep detailed records so that other

professionals can consult them when they are needed. Usually use computer systems.
Differentiate between not guilty and Acquitted
In legal terms the not guilty verdict also constitutes an acquittal. This is also possible to say
that to find the defendant not guilty is also another term for an acquittal.The jury at a trial
determines that the prosecution hasn’t been able to provide sufficient evidence to prove the
defendants case beyond reasonable doubt(Belloni & Hodgson, 2000).. However, the jury can
find the defendant not guilty of some charges and not the whole catalogue of charges and in
this case acquittal will also be partial. The jury is not the only party that can find the
defendant not guilty and therefore acquit the judges or the bench can also find the defendants
not guilty and therefore acquit depending on the legal proof that has been presented(Padfield
& Bild, n.d.)..
Does not Acquittal mean investigator has failed?
It may partially mean so, however not all cases brought before the jury will have a water tight
evidence or proof to make a sentence(Burns, 2007).. Some prosecutors however may fail in
proving beyond reasonable doubt that there is enough evidence for the defendant to be
prosecuted. Acquittal may also mean some cases brought before the court the defendant was
found guilty but in some he was innocent therefore acquitted.
Changes that should take place in criminal investigations in the next 20 years

Technology plays a major role in criminal investigations. For example, special equipment
exists to ensure that:
Crime scene investigators work closely with uniformed police officers dressed in plain
clothes, as well as pathologists, forensic scientists, and other emergency service personnel.
Often they must wear protective clothing, such as paper suits, masks and shoe covers, so as
not to contaminate the evidence(Hooper & Masters, n.d.)..
Crime scene investigators are hired by most law enforcement agencies. They investigate
scenarios where incidents have occurred in search of forensic evidence, including crime
scenes. They register and gather these tests, which they can then submit to the courts. Among
other tasks, they are responsible for finding and collecting fingerprints and forensic evidence,
as well as taking photographs of crime scene(Belloni & Hodgson, 2000)..
forensic investigation is designed to find a criminal offense if not also to clarify the truth of
the facts and to exonerate from responsibility a suspect who is innocent or a company or
entity that has been accused of fraud with the intention of obtaining economic benefits.
