Qualification
I hold a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) from the Queensland University of
Technology, a Master of Criminology from Bond University and a Doctor of Philosophy
(Ph.D.) from Bond University where currently I am Associate Professor and Coordinator of
Criminology.
I taught in the various subject such as Criminal Motivation, Crime Victimology, Forensic
Criminology, and Applied Crime Analysis among others

Summary of the Opinions
Using the following hypotheses and information, construct a matrix to determine which of
the scenarios is more/most likely given the information you have.
● That the victim was hit by an object at his head first.
● The pathologist stated that the victim could have lived for several minutes after being
directly hit, but was likely unconscious
● The victim had petechial haemorrhages in his eyes.
● The victim had functional in the lungs after the struck.
● The victim had no scratch marks on his neck indicating he made no attempt to
alleviate pressure while being strangled.
● There is a lack of defensive wounds present on the victim’s hands or arms.
● There are no signs of struggle or disarray in any rooms of the house.

● The victim had no signs of abrasions around the head and neck from the object he
was hit with indicating he was not moving around while being hit.
Crime History
John Prisk had no criminal history according to the data that we received at hand and also
evidence from the wife Kristin Pamela. Though went to custody battle through the family
courts with John Prisk against his mother. She won the battle due to Prisk John's violent
history and his drug abuse. At the time she was working as a bottle shop attendant at the
Bottle shop at the Hotel.
John Prisk would often come to the Hotel and be abusive towards me in front of my
colleagues. On one occasion one of my colleagues, we were running the bottle shop at Bray
Park. She stayed at his and his wife's home due to a violent episode with John Prisk. He was
taking me to the Bottle Shop at Bray Park and he came out at me in his white XF ford from
out of nowhere and tried to run at us off the road.
Psychological History
Information provided by the family suggests that John had no known psychological
problems, but that he has low self-esteem. He had previously had depression and was taking
anti-depressant medications for this. The family report no psychological problems in other
family members.

Shortly thereafter the Petric Hotel was held up. My daughter Chloe's father was the hotel
manager at the time and he had a gun put at his head that evening. I had been working the
bottle shop that day; John had not picked me up from work that day. He had an ex-girlfriend,
Jeanette. She had been unusually been coming to the hotel that week. I was told she was in
the pokies room a lot. This particular night I was able to come home.
I got up that next morning and John Prisk wouldn't take me to work. I phoned Jason and
asked him if he would pick me up and give me a lift to work because he was the Manager that
day. He was on the other end of the phone crying and told me he had been stuck up at the pub
the night before and had m. a gun put to his head and had been robbed. Therefore he wasn't
going in to work. I demanded John Prisk take me to work. I arrived early and got to the hotel.
I got there early and went into the pokies room. The hotel manager told me that what had
happened was true. I rang Jason that day and he sounded distraught.
I always believed that John Prisk and Jeanette had something to do with that stick up but I
was never able to prove it. Jeannette stopped coming to the hotel immediately after that. John
became very aggressive when I confront that afternoon about what had happened at the hotel.
He hated Jason. Jason ended up leaving with Chloe because he didn't feel safe with John. She
said Chloe for $10,000. This pregnancy make and children. John Prisk denuded any
knowledge of what had happened at the hotel. Because of his and Jeanette becoming close
again and the time she had been spending at the hotel and because she stopped going shortly
after it I never had any proof of it.

John Prisk would constantly take my key card after every payday. He would spend all my
wages and more often than not would not pick me up from the shop after the end of my shift.
I would have to phone the hotel and ring the manager and I would have to get a taxi to the
hotel. The manager would also give me a lift home because I would still be sitting outside the
hotel at midnight waiting to be picked
I became pregnant with Jaelyn and the stress got too much for me and in the end, I had to
give up work. By this stage, I had no friends left. People were too scared to come near me
because of John Prisk. Or even phone me. We moved into a property at Margate opposite the
711 on the road that runs through the Margate shops. There were numerous times that he
abused me. I never used speed but I smoked pot in my teenage years but I had never taken to
it. John Prisk would become very aggressive. He would go from being very happy to snap at
the drop of the hat. I would have frozen meat at me from down the

One occasion I had my daughter Chloe she was still living in Brisbane. I went through the
family courts and I won custody of her. John Prisk didn't like Chloe. She was the same age as
Gabrielle. He thought that because he couldn't have Gabrielle why I should have Chloe.
He was very nasty to her. One day I was in the kitchen, Chloe was with me. He started
beating me with the broomstick and broke it over my back. I was on the floor in the kitchen
near the oven. Chloe was screaming and crying 'Stop it leaves my mummy alone'.
John Prisk turned around and screamed 'Get that fucking slut out of my house'. She could
have been about four or five at the time I got up and put Chloe in between my arms and I ran
for the back door. I went down the back steps through the garage to get into the car. But he
had the keys. I led her by the hand and ran out onto the street. We went to the right heading to
the 711 down the street. We got halfway down the street and I heard the car screaming out of

the driveway. I could hear the car screaming down behind us. We were running down the
footpath.
He pulled up beside us and said 'Get in the fucking car'. I refused to. Chloe and I ran down to
the shop hiding behind the 711. There were a news agency and Bakery there. The solicitor I
used with the custody battle. He saw us pulled up. He knew what John Prisk was like because
of during the custody battle. I was crying and told him John Prisk was chasing us. He put us
in his car and took us to the Police Station and dropped us off out the front. John was ringing
my phone constantly. I finally answered and he had calmed down. John Prisk was Crying
apologizing didn't understand what was happening saying please don't go to the police. Once
again I would go home I had Jason come over and pick Chloe.
Before or after that incident, Iphone Jason one day and asked him if he would meet me at the
beach. I asked if I could speak to him. He met me at the beach and asked if he would be
interested in changing the family law court order and change it to have Chloe living with him
and I would be able to visit. Reverse the order. He agreed to this. Jason brought me a car and
he gave me money to get me away from John Prisk. Ultimately that is what happened. He
took Chloe with him He lived next to the street where I was leaving. A street or two away so
Chloe was still living close to me. I was having Chloe on contact and I would take her to the
beach or take her out as much as possible to spend time with her myself. I tried spending time
with John Prisk but that would cause me to greet with John Prisk. One time I ended up in the
hospital with 21 weeks pregnant with Jaelyn and John Prisk beat me and my waters broke. I
went to the Hospital. They transferred me to the Royal Women's Hospital. That is where I
spent the rest of my pregnancy between the Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. On
one occasion John Prisk picked me up from the hospital and he told me to go home with him
for the day. John Prisk picked me up in the car and he was with his friend Joel O. He made
me drive. He was off his face. He was on speed. His eyes were beaming and he was frothing

at the mouth. He was being very nice at that time but once we left the area of the hospital and
got closer to the bridge. We came the Sandgate way and as we got to the bridge he flipped it.
I think I said I needed to go to the hospital because my waters were broken. John Prisk
grabbed a crew driver from out of the glove box. He was sitting next to me. It had a yellow
handle Perspex sort of see-through. He started stabbing the dash screaming uncontrollably
and was on the Hornbook Bridge. I was crying. I thought he was going to stab me with it. We
got back to the house and I told him I wanted to go back to the hospital. I phoned Jason and
asked him to help me to take me back to the hospital. Jason told me to meet him down the
road. He came to get me. I could hear John Prisk coming down the road in the car. Iphone
Jason and told him not to come. John Prisk was coming and he would kill him. He was scared
of John Prisk so he left.
He was fine. He was very attentive to me for the next y. You couldn't recognize me my face
was damaged. 7:30 that next night. It was a Star Wars movie on TV and it was just about to
start when there was a knock at the door. John Prisk answered the door. He came back to the
bedroom and said 'The Police are here'.
Jaelyn’s bassinet was next to me and I placed him into the bassinet and I went out to the
lounge room. There were two DOCCS workers and two police. They came in and had a look
at Jaelyn. It was pouring down. I had never seen such a big storm. They said to "one or the
other of you have to leave'. (John Prisk said "I'm not leaving. Why should I care? I've got
nowhere to go'. Bullshit) they said 'Someone has to leave tonight or we're taking the baby'. I
said I would leave'. They took me and Jaclyn to a Hostel in the city. On the way there one of
the DOCC workers said 'How can he be so selfish in this weather. I went to stay at this Hostel
for the weekend. That Tuesday a taxi arrived and took me to the

DOCCS office. I was there with Jaclyn. They saw my face. They said “will you go in a
refuge with Jaelyn.'
I said I didn't want to'. I didn't know what they meant by refuge and I didn't realize what
would happen if I said no. They said "We will have to take Jaelyn off you. The decisions
have been made. We're going to take Jaclyn into care'. They took I believe what was a
twelve-week order. I visited Jaclyn every opportunity with what they gave me. John Prisk
refused to have anything to do with the Department of Child Safety. He didn't visit with
Jaelyn. He may have visited once or twice at the most. Jaelyn was given back to me after the
twelve weeks. My sister had been through the papers and found a place down at the Gold
Coast. It was a house that had been split into three units.
Kristin Pamela owners name was Ross. He was good to me. John Prisk arrived at that
property the next evening in the car. He promised he was cutting all his ties with his drug
friends in Brisbane and that he was going to get a job. He got a job within a week with a
Concreting mob from Gavyn. Within a week one of the guys he worked with was associated
with drugs and he started using speed again. This guy and his girlfriend came over to my
house and I refused to associate with them. I took Jaelyn into the bedroom and stayed there
with him. At that time I was not using. I was really pissed off with John Prisk that he was
using again. After they left, John Prisk flipped at me. His friends thought I was a stuck up
cunt. He started on one of his rampages again. He took off with them in his car and I think
rove around with them on one of his rampages again around the Gold Coast.
John Prisk came back early in the morning. He had to start work. He hadn't slept and was in a
really foul mood. I got up and made his lunch as per usual and he was going off his head. I
had a lot of vi photos and trained. I was holding Jaelyn standing next to the living room I the
door, he picked up one of the photos frames and he threw it at me. The wall behind me was

fibro and the glass and frame smashed behind me leaving a big shard of glass sticking out of
the wall behind me. John Prisk went to work. Jaelyn had a fever and I took him to the
Hospital. He a gastro thing and spent three days at the Gold Coast Hospital. I brought him
home from the hospital three days later. John hadn't visited him at the Hospital once.
That day, John Prisk had been using again. We went out to get food for dinner. We went to a
Thai place waiting for food. John flipped out. I don't know what about. I asked John to take
me home. He took me back. Stopped and said 'Get out of the fucking car' and then he left.
(Very Ride? I went down underneath one of the units. John had the keys to the unit. There
was a bathroom window open to our unit. I had Jaelyn wrapped up in a blanket and put my
handbag near him. 1 jumped through the window, ran back outside, picked Jaelyn up, ran
inside and quickly locked the door. John Prisk came back and he had the keys of course. He
came in and started hitting me. He threw the food at the time and I went for the phone and
dialed triple o. I managed to get the police to be aware that I need help before John Prisk
grabbed the phone off me. John Prisk realized I had the police on the phone so he jumped in
the car and pissed off. No longer after he took off the police arrived.
I met with the Department of Child Safety the next working day. They notified me Jaelyn
was in care. I was pregnant with Joshua at the time and they took out what ended up being a
six-month order on Jaelyn. Jaelyn was placed with Debbie and Steve at Bay. John Prisk came
home after they had done with whatever they were doing with him at the Police Station. I was
livid at him because I had lost Jaevyn again.
68. I ended up at the hospital and gave birth to Joshua on the 8th day of January 2005. I
notified John Prisk. I found out quickly from Asylum from the Department of Child Safety
that they would be taking Joshua. The day they took Joshua from the hospital John Prisk
didn't visit. Joshua was at the hospital for three weeks before they took him. I walked out to
the Asylum's car with Joshua before they took him to Jenny Wilcox.

As I got a train home because John Prisk wouldn't pick me up. John Prisk was with Joel again
and he wouldn't pick me up after I had lost my son. I walked into the house and they were
both drinking and off their faces. John Prisk knew what had just taken place. They were just
sitting there as nothing had happened. It was his son and it was as if he just didn't give a strut.
Said 'Shit I've never seen you look so bad. You look like crap. Are you okay?'
I didn't respond and walked straight into my bedroom. I shut the door and was in there crying
to myself. I was just trying to take in what had just happened again. I was still expressing
milk for Joshua and freezing it. I would make sure the Department would get it.
The hospital had given me an espresso machine to use. Started contact with him as well. I
was doing bus trips regularly to Morayfield to see the both of them. Once I realized both the
boys were under six-month orders I went back to work. I was working with the Hotel a
Bribie. I was also running the bottle shop.
One day John Prisk and Joel came into the bottle shop. John Prisk was talking to me and the
demeanor of both of them; I could tell they were on drugs. I could tell this because John Prisk
would always have foam around his mouth and his eyes were glassy and his face would be
patchy. It was unusual because he didn't ask for alcohol. I had some boxes in the back of the
shop. John Prisk offered to help. A customer came in. I knew my stock. I served the
customer. They came back and said they had moved the stock and they hurried out of the
shop. Straight away I went around the back and checked the stock and noticed a two-liter
bottle of rum was missing. I grabbed my keys. I went straight to the door, locked it and went
out to the car park. They were both sitting in the car. I pulled Prisk John's door open and said
hand it over. He said 'Hand what over'. I looked at Joel and he had a long shirt on. I slammed
John Prisk’s door and pulled Joel's door open. I learned in pulled his shirt up and grabbed the
