AI Summary
This report provides a critical analysis of a research article titled "Understand the relationship between work intensification and burnout in secondary teacher." The study, which employed a quantitative research design using surveys and multiple regression analysis, investigated the correlation between work intensification, job satisfaction, and burnout among secondary school teachers in Australia. The analysis examines the methods, including the use of the Job Demand-Resource Model and the Perceived Organizational Support scale, and the results, highlighting the negative relationship between non-teaching related work and emotional exhaustion. The discussion section critiques the study's cross-sectional nature and limitations, while the conclusion emphasizes the need for further research and the importance of school management support in mitigating teacher burnout. The report assesses the study's strengths, weaknesses, and implications for understanding and addressing teacher well-being and retention.

INTRODUCTION
Cox, (2019) used descriptive research design in their article and it is a Quantitative study
is used in order to understand the relationship between the work increase and burnout secondary
teachers which is the primary concentration in the article name “to understand the relationship
between the work intensification and in burnout secondary teacher”. The author use job demand
Resource Model as a theory that clearly describe the kinship between a work increase,
contentment with the workload and burnout in secondary teachers. The study chooses 215 high
school teacher from Australia's School using online survey method and For that, author uses
Multiple Regression Analysis under Qualtrics Software that clearly indicates non- teaching
related work is the stronger predictor of depression and emotional exhaustion as compared to
teaching related workload. Thus, this essay will critically examine method, result, discussion and
conclusion of the study with regard to the research questions.
Method
As per the view of Heale and Twycross (2015) the strength of the research mainly lies in
the choice of using quantitative method and also in the interpretation of the finding using
thematic coding. For this article, the quantitative method is proven successful as per author point
of view because it helps to get correct results that helps author to meet the defined aim and
research questions with more depth information. While on the other side, .. critic that qualitative
data analysis is not used because it only help to answer the question and even did not provide in
depth information which quantitative method does. Moreover, it is an excellent tool that is also
used in the article to stretch the scope of educational research. For the current study, 215
participants are chosen, who ranged in age from 25 to 75, were presently on the job, on time off
or retired. It has been analysed that inactive Australian high school teachers had taught at least
70% of the teacher provides direct lessons to their students from last many years. On the other
side, Michaelson and et.al., (2018) critic that retired teachers are regarded most important
because they have an experience of burnout or no burnout. In the survey, four question related to
contentment with education related and non- teaching employment is used and it is observed that
the teachers are satisfied with the workload.

In order to attain the purpose and subjective, the survey of Perceived Organizational
Support is used which is a 16- item one-dimensional device and all item are charge on the Likert
scale which varies from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 7 (Strongly agree) to get better outcome.
Result
The article “Understand the relationship between work intensification and burnout in
secondary teacher” in which all the applied Math analyses are performed by using IBM SPSS. In
this article, it has been evaluated that age and years of instruction experience are negatively
related to affectional fatigue and depersonalization dimension of burnout. Apart from this, in
order to critically identify the kinship between the sensed work step-up and burnout evidence, a
multiple regression moderation analysis is used, but it is also did not presented the exact
outcomes which did not clearly shows an important action for emotional exhaustion dimensions
(Van Droogenbroeck, Spruyt and Vanroelen, 2014).
As per the view of Kundu, Tang and Chatterjee (2019) the particular strength of the
article is using multiple regression moderation analysis because it helps to understand how the
dependent variable may change when a researcher changes study's independent variables. In the
same way, through data analysis, response indicates that there is a strong discontentment with
non- teaching related employment and it is inversely proportional to the average contentment
with teaching related workload. Through zero order correlation, it is interpreted that satisfaction
with teaching workload is relatively greater than non- teaching related workload, that clearly
shows the degree that contentment with each type of work is foreseen in each magnitude of
burnout and even there is a positive relationship of satisfaction with teaching workload with POS
because p< .001. In the result, it is found that there are mixed results in the term of burnout, and
in that affectional fatigue is consider the main symptomatic of burnout, it is also a hypothesis to
be an preceding of the lower personal performance (Chatterjee and Hadi, 2015).
Discussion
In this article, the author did not summarise the result but they use an explanation
statement. Bennett and et.al., (2018) workload related to teaching methods only significant for
emotional exhaustion. Even the author also find that teaching related workload is the powerful
forecaster of an affectional fatigue and on the other side, Donovan (2018) critic that POS had a
strong correlation with all property of burnout. Moreover, the result also reveal that the study

also contributed to different literature and National Talent Search Exam also helps to analyse
teachers self- efficiency. In order to critic, the nature of the study is cross sectional which limits
conclusion about the causality as well as directionality among all variables used in the articles.
As per the view of Van Droogenbroeck and Spruyt (2014) extraneous and inner job request as
well as origin may also influence the kinship between work increase and work. On the other side,
there are some new alteration in the method of direction such as introduction of progressively
involved application, current information cause which affect the teachers teaching method.
Therefore, from the study, it is critically observed that by analysing different key factors
that affect teachers burnout, school manager should take some action that helps to minimize the
stress level of teachers and even the chances of losing good teacher also minimized. This is the
way, which author suggested for future.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded that further research related to the understanding the relationship between
workload and burnout of secondary teacher is needed. From the above it has been concluded that
the main purpose of the report is to determine the level up to which teacher of Australia are
experiencing the work load, even how these might be affect the satisfaction with the work as
well as their well- being. The finding from the study also indicates that teachers of secondary
school experiencing work intensification, emotional tiredness, satisfaction and dissatisfaction
with various feature of their job but the questionnaire did not offer insight into motives that
workload actually burnout the secondary teachers. Therefore, study also concluded or encourage
school manager so that they provide finer help to their faculty because sensed social assist is one
of the strong predictor of all the three dimensions of Burnout. In addition to this, the study also
support or concern about he teacher's overall well- being, therefore, manager of school should be
recognise the demand that will further assist to reduce burnout and even the chances of losing
good teachers also minimized.
