Article 1: ‘Aging out of adolescent delinquency: Results from a longitudinal sample of youth
and young adults’
Yes the introduction and the literature review address relevant topics that lead into the
study. The various aspects of the adolescents and teen crime behaviors has been analyzed that
has to the development and elimination of the psychosocial complexes – are described well
and properly.
Age group classification is not done properly, neither in the literature review nor in
the introduction. The adolescence on the overall has been mentioned.
The researchers of this study uses binary regression model to calculate the results
which is appropriate as the results are analyzed in a quantitative manner.
The results follow the research hypotheses but the development of criminal behavior
in the child has not been elucidated.
The results are presented with clarity and there is no bias in the same, whatsoever.
The results elucidates the finding in congruence with the research objectives and hypotheses.
In the discussion, there is a complete evidence based support to the findings and a
critical analysis has been done.
The manuscript advance knowledge to the higher research settings.
I would have used a mixed method design in order to explore the research aim further.
Article 2: ‘On Public Protest, Violence, and Street Gangs’
It is to be noted that in this research, there is no clear introduction and literature
review that address the relevant topics that lead into the study.

As the research article deals with social and group behaviors in the development of
anti – social behaviors but there is no clear background, introduction or literature review to
address the purpose of research.
The researchers of this study use a narrative review to describe and elaborate the
topic.
The results follow the research hypotheses but with digression.
The results are incongruent and lacks clarity.
The discussion part is elaborated well and the critical analysis of the data is done
properly and with much explanations which is an important component of the study.
The manuscript advance knowledge to the higher research settings.
On an alternative note, a systematic literature review could have helped the purpose of
the study.
Article 3: ‘When Twitter Fingers Turn to Trigger Fingers: a Qualitative Study of Social
Media-Related Gang Violence’
While the introduction is written and supported well by evidences, the literature
review is lacking in content.
The literature review has not been undertaken properly by the researchers of this
study. The problems pertaining to the online internet based conflict leading to offline
violence are not researches by many articles and this forms a difficulty in the literature
review.

The researchers of this study incorporates vignette methodology and qualitative
interviews in this sociolinguistic study to understand and analyses perspective of the research
aim and this is quite accurate.
The results follow the research hypotheses.
The results are presented with appropriateness.
In the discussion, there is a complete evidence based support to the findings and a
critical analysis has been done.
The manuscript advance knowledge to the higher research settings.
Alternatively, a cohort study could have been performed in order to address the
research problem in a more accurate manner.
Article 4: ‘Developmental Changes in Deviant and Violent Behaviors from Early to Late
Adolescence: Associations with Parental Monitoring and Peer Deviance’
Yes the introduction and the literature review address relevant topics that lead into the
study. The deviant and the violent behaviors in the adolescent phase are addressed properly.
The literature review has not been undertaken properly by the researchers of this
study. The exact problems has not been revealed by existing literature.
The researchers of this study uses accelerated longitudinal design along with peer
deviance and parental monitoring which is relevant and appropriate.
The results follow the research hypotheses coherently.
The results are presented with bias. There is confirmation bias being shown in this
section of the research.

and a rational or logical flow is developed through the content and its reading.

Article 5: ‘The Consequences of Adolescent Delinquent Behavior for Adult Employment
Outcomes’
Both introduction and literature review is relevant to the topics of the study.
The literature review is considerably appropriate and in the introduction, the factors
such as educational attainment, disconnectedness from work and education, work experience
have not been analyzed properly.
The study used National Longitudinal Survey’s first four waves in order to analyze
the data, which is appropriate.
The results follow the research hypotheses.
The results are coherent, relevant to the aim and purpose of the research.
In the discussion, there is a complete evidence based support to the findings.
The manuscript advance knowledge to the higher research settings.
Alternatively, given the purpose of the research – a sociolingual study with
explanatory approach would have been more relevant.
