Critical Examination of the following statements by Samsung:
Vision Statement (Vision 2020)
The vision statement of Samsung enunciates that they are looking forward to inspiring
the entire world and create the future ahead. The company has become one of the biggest
organizations in the world and has gained extremely good brand image, making it one of the
primary strengths of the company. The company has gathered so much recognition because
of the products and services, but as per the principles of strategic management, it falls short
of delivering appropriately to its vision statement, thus nullifying the statement. For inspiring
the entire world and creating a future ahead, it has to be the best in the business, where it has
a lack in segmentations and product differentiations. Thus, it has somewhat failed to inspire
the world and lead the future ahead as claimed in its vision statement.
Mission Statement
The mission statement of Samsung states the organization’s mission to inspire the
world with their innovative technology, which is true to some extent for the innovative and
ingenious technologies represented through the products developed by Samsung Creative
Labs. There are so many inspiring products like Tag+, S-Skin, Lumini, and others that varied
in applications. All these products have inspired the world with their creativity and also
enriches the lives of people. With the help of the C-Labs, Samsung is looking forward to a
better future with innovations at various segments implementing technology.
Values
People:
The reports about the exploitative and unethical conduct to the employees prove that
the organization does not hold its value statement as it has previously proposed.

Excellence:
The development of the C-Labs for innovative product development and utilizing
technology to develop and innovate products, with comparative analysis of the market
enunciates that the organization is true to this value.
Change:
Thinking about its better future, the organization understands the changes in the
market and stays true to their change values by bringing in organizational changes. This
reflects on their varied products available to the market.
Integrity:
Even after the proposed value statements, there have been reports about the
organization and its unethical practises. From treating the employees in an exploitative way
to exploiting the underage employees in China making them overwork, Samsung has been
reported several times due to their unethical and non-integral conduct.
Co-prosperity:
This statement also does not hold true due to the conducts on the employees, and even
on the customers by adopting to illegal practises.
