1CRITICAL REFLECTION ON DIVERSITY AND DIFFERENCE
Critical Reflection on Diversity and difference in Early Childhood Education
with respect to the anti-racist approaches and challenging gender bias:
According to the authors, in the field of education early childhood education is nothing
stream of teaching children in their early age. In the year 1965 in U.S. early childhood education
was initiated. While analyzing the aspect of early childhood education it has been noticed that
the early childhood education process starts from the time of the birth of the children to the time
of that children enter the school for primary education (Davis & Mac Naughton, 2009). Followed
by this concern it has been identified that in the early childhood education there is a major
significance of anti-racist approach as well as the gender equality as these factors impacts the
quality of the education process.
The authors think that making allowance to this factor I have learned several things
related to these factors. Hence, after completion of the analysis on the anti-Racist pedagogies I
have learned that race is nothing but an imaginary concept which holds major significance on
biological categories. While discussing this concern racism comes to the frame which signifies
that the racism is a social process that in which the group of people gets distinct base on the
aspect of race. While analyzing this aspect it is identified that racism stands for a process in
which a group of people or individual people face discrimination based on their nationality,
ethics, and belief as well as based on their skin color (Robinson & Jones-Diaz, 2016). While
discussing these aspects the several major threats on the early childhood education has been
identified due to the occurrence of the racism. Those threats includes a major influence on the
mind of the child as in case of the occurrence of childhood education the child will surely get
effected by the mentality which will destroy the mind set and the future activities of that
children. Thus, there is a major significance of anti-racist pedagogies has been determined.

2CRITICAL REFLECTION ON DIVERSITY AND DIFFERENCE
As per the authors, while analyzing this aspect it is identified that the adoption to anti-
racist pedagogies will surely impact the early childhood education. As the adoption of anti-racist
approach offers session to identify their own identities as well as the identification of their own
culture and love their own. Hence, considering this aspect it is identified that the nominated
approach demands the preschool tutors to be more realistic as well as the needs be diverse in
mind (Mac Naughton & Davis, 2009). Followed by the analysis of these studies I have learned
that in the field of education as well as on other field it is very essential to apply the anti-racism
act as it will help the individuals to belief on their caste, nationality, movements and they must
get equal opportunities.
Along with these concern one of the major objective behind the adoption of this approach
in the early childhood education is to spread the awareness of equality as it is very essential to
eliminate the discrimination among the people which will help them to become better person.
Hence, it can be stated that in the success of early childhood education the approach of anti-racist
approach is very essential (Davis & Mac Naughton, 2009). Along with the concern of anti-racist
approach in early childhood education another significant factor influences this process which is
the gender biases. As it is identified from the studies that he gender biases are one of the major
conflict that may rise a major threat to the childhood education. While discussing the aspect it is
identified that gender bias is nothing but an assumption in which the strength and the capabilities
of a person is analyzed based on their gender. Along with this concern it is also determined that
the sexual difference does not justifies the gender biases as this in the current scenario
capabilities of a person or a group of person can be determined based on their gender (Robinson
& Jones-Diaz, 2016). Considering this aspect it is identified that there are several conflict present
due to gender bias which includes the factor of not providing the equal opportunities to

individuals no matter what the gender of that person is. Hence, from this analysis it is identified
that the gender biasing in the early childhood education will impact their pre-schooling. As from
the initial stage of the childhood education the children starts identifying the difference between
the gender and the significances, it is very essential to eliminate the concept of gender bias
(Davis & Mac Naughton, 2009). Followed by this concern I have learned that due to the adoption
of non-biased education process the children will grow up in such environment where they will
be aware of non-sexist thoughts. Where they will be able to think about the equal opportunities
which will help them to think about the factor that the girls and boys have the same capabilities
to do some specific work.
Hence, as per my view point it have learned that in the pre-schooling education it is very
essential to eliminate the gender bias that will help to mitigate the challenges caused by the
discussed factor.
