ASSIGNMENT 1
The theoretical perspective
According to this transformationalist perspective, which differ from the rest of the
theoretic perspectives because it believes that there is not individual cause when it comes to
globalization (Glenn 2012). This perspective states that globalization is that phenomenon
which advances over the years. The authors of this perspective further states that the changes
which have evolved from globalization has no exact direction that from where they have
come up. Therefore, this means that whatever is happening under globalization has no
definite past or future. Moreover, from the viewpoint of transformationalist they perceive that
though national governments are enlarging with power but their nature is changing (Ryan
2016). Therefore, as per this perspective, there are a series of factors, which are greatly
influencing the procedure of globalization, but the result of globalization is very doubtful.
The topic
David held along with his Colleagues has came up with this theory of
Transformationalist. However, in relation to globalization this theoretical perspective mainly
states an enlarged association in the political, economic, cultural matters all over the world,
which all the more creates a ‘shared social space’. Rosenau (1997) and Giddens (1990) who
are said to be as the renowned transformationalists has proclaimed that globalization arises
when the states or the society all over the world tries to associate or get connected with a
highly undetermined world (Esfahani 2017). However, it has been observed that though the
authors of transformationalist theorists has analyzed various general changes included in
globalization but their approach is still considered to be less certain regarding the historical
path of these changes and thus are less limiting those factors driving globalization (Baylis,
Owens and Smith 2017).

ASSIGNMENT 1
Critical evaluation
Reviewing the literature it has been found that there has been much disagreement
regarding the meaning as well as impact of globalization. However, there has been a group of
theoretical perspectives that guides people understand the basic implications of the
complicated features of globalization (Rappleye 2012). Therefore, it can be said that if any
perspective have the closed view matching with reality then it would be the theoretical
perspective of transformationalists. However, the globalists have unnoticed the economic
inequalities of their capitalist theories and the sceptics have not acknowledged the
dissimilarities between the current global developments but transformationalists have firmly
stand out on the problems of globalization in a more rational and implementable way
(Milanovic 2016).
Taking China as an example were the government did not give up controls to the
MNC’s completely and therefore have further managed to continue with their development in
their economy (Halsall and Cook 2013). On the contrary, there are Latin Americans who
have deteriorated as an outcome of diminished power of the government.
Conclusion
Thus, to conclude the essay it can be said that the chosen theoretical perspective on
globalization which has the point of view that globalization is a continue process that takes
place over the years. It further suggests that the changes which as or will be occurring
through globalization has no specific historical background nor thus, it has any determined
future. Moreover, as related to the topic and the critical evaluation done above it is very clear
that in comparison with other theoretical perspectives, transformationalists have a more
