Football Game
Introduction
I managed to attend a football match between Chelsea FC and Liverpool on 22nd September.
These are among the twenty teams in the premier game. The final results for the game was a win for the
away team. The match was attended by people from different parts of the country. In football, the
players wear shorts, socks, soccer shoes, and jersey. The Chelsea team wore blue and stripped colours
and the other team wore red and stripped colours. Games play very important role of sharing physical
strength (Jeroen, 2015, p.125). This was a male sport and gender really played a role here due to the
physicality of the game. The game had various people of multiple ethnic backgrounds due to its superior
recognition in the country. The players were from different backgrounds too. The jerseys provided them
with freedom of movement and also were light for their ability to perform in the game. In the game,
advertisement played a great aspect of promotions since there were various platforms of advertisement
which included the fences and screens (Molyneux, 2019, p.239).
There were adverts of various goods while others showed different messages. The ground was
noisy due to the shouting of the fans and screaming which came from them too. The media played a
huge role in covering the game. Being held in London, the capital of England, the game was also
attended several government official in England. It was also a pleasure to have the president of FIFA
attending the game. He began by addressing the fans before the game started. He thanked them for
supporting their teams and ensured them that he would ensure that football integrity is achieved at all
cost (Pawlowski, 2015, p.4130). Old club legends were also among the people present on that day. The
match was scheduled to begin at 0700 hours.

This is what exactly happened since all the preparations had been done. There were four major
official in the game. These include a central referee, three assistant referees. The central referee was the

final decision maker in the game and was tasked with ensuring that all match rules and ethics were
followed. Two of the three assistant referees were on the sidelines to ensure that they were in control of
aspects such as offside and throw corner kicks. The forth referee coordinated with the central referee on
matters such as substitutions. Besides the four referees, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) was also in use.
This is a concept that was recently introduced the football world to help video referee review decisions
made by the central referee (Waddington, 2017, p.1012690217733678). This is possible by use of a
video footage. The communication is done through a headset. During the start of the second half,
Chelsea scored an equalizer by the goal was unfortunately ruled out as offside, a decision that came
minutes later after communication between the head and video referees.
Stewards and ball-boys were also aided in coordinating the game (Rogers, J., 2017, p.650). The
stewards ensured that the fans did not disrupt the game while the boy-boys supplied the players with the
ball.
Gender and Age
This was a male competition. However, females from all over the world also play football. There
are several leagues for both in almost every country. Women also have their own league, in which they
compete with their fellow females. The ages of the player in the game were totally different. The
average age was 25 years. Players as young as 18 years and as old as 34 years all participated in the
game. All the referees in this match were males, however female referee are also used to officiate

Media Coverage
Premier League is one of the most watched league in the world (Bushby, 2019, p.266). Due to
this fact, there was need to broadcast every event that happened in the game to different people around
the world. Football fans who did not make to the pitch either watched the game on televisions or
final decision maker in the game and was tasked with ensuring that all match rules and ethics were
followed. Two of the three assistant referees were on the sidelines to ensure that they were in control of

streamed it. This was only made possible by media coverage. Media groups from all the world were
present to broadcast the game to their views. Some of the media groups present on that day were BBC,
CNN, SuperSport and EAsport. The media groups were made of both male and female representatives.
Both radio and television presenters were also present. Game analysts were also not left behind. They
ensured that they attended the game so that they could have insight of the happenings and collect enough
data for analysis. Both teams’ media departments were also present. Besides the video streaming groups,
sports article and magazine were also present. Given that the game was held in the Chelsea’s football
club, Stamford Bridge which is in London, most of the local media personalities came from London.
After the game came to an end, the media interviewed the Liverpool head coach about the techniques
which contributed to his massive win. Other several players were also interviewed by the journalists.
Advertisement during the Game
Advertisement targets large groups of people (Constandt, 2019, p.630). Given the large number
of fans that these two teams have, different organizations were aware that they can easily reach out by
advertising their products and services through this platform (Halouani, 2019, p.117). There were
different products advertised on the screens. For example Yokohama Company’s products were
constantly displayed on the screens. Several banks also took advantage of the large number of funs to
advertise their services. Betting sites also took advantage of this platform to retain and convince new
customers into their sites. Different clubs’ sponsors such as Chicago Bulls were also given time to
advertise their products. The home team, Chelsea also used the advertisement platform to inform their
fans about the upcoming games and ticket information. Advertisement was done both on the fence and
on the screens. Different products and services were advertised frequently.

According to Kelley, 2018, p.385, Halouani et al., 201, p.157, Miles & Prasad, 2016, p.7
&Schroeder, 2017, p.675 cases of racial discrimination in football have decreased. Dupont,
(2014.p.581), also states that discrimination based on race or color in sporting activities should be
condemned. The game was attended by people of different races from all over the world. Some were
residents of the London while others came from neighboring cities. A significant number of people also
travelled from Liverpool to support their team. Premier League is the most followed league in the world.
Due to this reason, people also travelled from all over the world to watch the match. However, most of
the fans were whites given that the game was held in their home country. Having been held on weekend,
the game was attended by both children and adults. Parents could be seen cheering their teams together
with their children. There were no gender discrimination in this game, hence, both female and male fans
attended the match.
Teams Uniform.
Team uniform are very distinctive features in every game (Beaver, 2016, p.160). This was a
football match and every team had to have their jersey. The Chelsea team wore blues were entirely on
blue uniform while their opponents wore red one. One common feature in the player’s jersey is that they
both advertised several organizations on them. For example, Chelsea had the Yokohama logo on their
jersey. On the other hand, many fans also wore uniform in support of their teams.
Player violence
According to Anne, (2016, p.60), player violence can happen if there are no proper decision from the
match officials. Luckily, there were no player violence reported in this game.
Healthcare
Injuries are likely to occur in any game (Walls, 2016, p.8). According to (Junge, 2018, p.49,

significant factors that are related to the issue of football and concussion is specifically nursing care and
the provision of public administration which is a subsequent effect that brings along the development of
the same condition in players who suffer from the same (Sorani & Ferguson, 2016). It is indeed one of
the factors that bring along and contribute to the subsequent issue and also the development of football
and concussion. Even for many players with healthy living and other healthy body conditions, there are
higher records of being able to present some issues of dysfunction which is considered a further issue
that contributes to the risks of having a football and concussion. When it comes to gender
considerations, different studies in this field revealed that the male players are at a higher risk of
developing the football and concussion condition while at the same time, the women may also be at a
higher level of the same issue due to some of the specific complications that are related to public
administration (Abreu, Cromartie & Spradley, 2016). It is, therefore, one of the leading concerns on
caring for the same players that have stressed the pubic administrators and other healthcare developers.
For the same public administrators and other health caregivers to the players, the issues of providing
care and choosing the best safety methods and measures are a great concern and it is also made difficult
due to various factors.
Owing to these factors, every team had its own treatment official who ensured that first aid was
given when required. Only minor injuries from both teams were reported in this game.
