1.1 Selection of the Topic
As healthcare has been the biggest concern for the people in the recent times in Australia.
Thus it is important to make such studies in this topic as this will help the readers of the topic to
draw different reasons on their studies as well. This topic was chosen by me because on thing
that it is the recent issue of discussion among the experts of the field and due to its popularity
and not major study done on this topic i have selected this topic. Further by selecting this topic i
wanted to analyze the concepts and conventions which are beyond the healthcare and
communication part as and when they have been making this sector look promising. Thus it was
important for me to understand the methodology beyond all the scenario.
1.2 Themes Which made the Impact
There are different themes which has made a significant impact on this particular sector
and the scope it covers is commendable thus the three themes which have been encountered by
me are:
Healthcare & communication: Here, in this theme communication have played a significant
part in making the healthcare sector grow in a different manner. Further the communication level
here needs to be simple and easy as it facilitates in making the professionals look proficient
enough for the sake of growth(Healy, 2016).
Doctor Patient Relationship: A doctor and patient relationship is a sensitive relation as patient
always have some sort of hesitation while talking to doctors but as it has been said that a patient
should never hide anything related to the diseases from its doctor in order to be healthy again.
Communication & Doctor Patient Relation: A doctor should make a communication to the
patient about his/her diseases which can make the patient also know what kind of and what level
of impact of disease he /she is suffering from.
1.3 Reaction
As far as the health care study is concerned at first i was pretty happy to undergo with
such a study as i have always wanted to study those topics which recently in news and which are
not been researched so, thus what it gives the researcher like me is that wide world were i can
explore the things related to topic. Thus my reaction was doing the study was quite a promising

one as i have so much interest in this topic but after going in to the deep ocean of the study it has
been a hectic situation for me as I have to draw conclusions on my study. But if i talked about
my overall experience it gave me knowledge about the various kind of different phenomena and
also i was introduced to different sort of relationships.
1.4 Reason for Reaction
As i have interest in the topic thus I was pretty happy in doing the research and also my
reaction was mesmerizing because I have never thought of the things which i am introduced by
conducting this type of research as it was the major advantage for me to have the knowledge of
those things. Also i am bit like a person who always has the craziness to get with the new things
and i have always wished for something which can make my personality level to rise, thus this
has made me happier by doing this study.

Critical reflection process
In the field of healthcare, effectual relationship between doctor and patient is highly
required to deliver quality services. Doctor-patient relationship implies for the understanding
which takes place between both the entities. By placing emphasis on the aspects of effectual
communication health care professional can build and maintain strong relationship with the
individuals. There are mainly three goals by considering this health care professional of Australia
places high level of emphasis on building competent relationship with patients. Goals of doctor-
patient communication are to develop highly interpersonal relationship with the indigenous
people of Australia. Further, sound communication system facilitates exchange of information
between doctor and patient.
In addition to this, through the means of effectual communication health care
professional can include patients in the decision making aspect. Hence, clear and effectual
communication is the key which in turn helps care professional in understanding the needs and
perception level of indigenous people of Australia. By taking into account all such aspects it can
be stated that through the means of effectual communication health care professional can easily
identify the problems which are facing by the patient. Hence, by making evaluation of such

aspect health care professional can recommend suitable medicine to the individual. Patients who
have good communication with their doctors are encouraged to share pertinent information. By
getting information regarding all such aspects doctors would become able to diagnose the
problem of patient in an effectual way. Along with this, indigenous people of Australia will also
follow or adhere with the treatment prescribed by the doctor.
Main themes of such study include effective communication as well as doctor-patient
relationship. Along with this, the main theme of such study is to analyze the extent to which
aspect of effective communication and doctor-patient relationship is highly associated with each
other. All such key themes are highly significant which in turn helps in making evaluation of the
research issue in an effectual way. Moreover, study is highly based on the topic of doctor-patient
relationship in the context of indigenous people of Australia. By evaluating all such themes issue
has been investigated more effectually.
As the part of the study i have examined various books and journals and come up with
the many strong theories which have depicted that health care sector has made a great impact on
the health of the patients in the recent times in Australia. As far as Toner and et.al, 2017
concerned they have made or suggested that people in this sector ha laid their whole e4mphasis
on the patients and they are trusting the patients like they are the only care taker for them and
this has made the doctors to make use of the patients in the positive and negative manner. Thus
this has resulted in the occurrence of the issue which needs to be undertaken. Further extending
the research it was examined that one of the experts who is Obama, 2016 has stated that
communication have played a significant part in making the healthcare sector grow in a different
manner. Further the communication level here needs to be simple and easy as it facilitates in
making the professionals look proficient enough for the sake of growth. Another expert of the
field Fryer and Ogden, 2014 have suggested that doctor should make a communication to the
patient about his/her diseases which can make the patient also know what kind of and what level
of impact of disease he /she is suffering from.
As far as my perceptions over these topics are concerned i have been shocked by these
kind of suggestions by such big names of the sector thus as i was also knowing that it is
secondary data and full reliance on it is should not been made thus it is important to take the data
myself only thus i have gone through various hospitals in Australia to collect the data in relation

to these studies and i have founded that there are some doctors who are taking the advantage of
the people who are making a trust on them and the relationship of doctor and patient have been
increased in terms of communication and in terms of sensitivity also(Ruotsalainen and et.al,
2015). Thus as per my perception it can be said that i think that people should have o realize that
it is their health which has been carried by them and they should not fully really on any doctor
until and unless the results are positive from that doctors treatment or the doctor is in relation to
you. Further for the classification purpose it can be said that Australia's first peoples in health
care are the one's which have made a great help to me in making my study success.
Being a health care professional, my experience is also in line with the theoretical
findings. Moreover, while dealing with the patient I have identified disease can be diagnosed in
a better way when effective communication takes place between doctor and patient. Moreover,
without having information about the issues which are facing by patient health care professional
is not in situation to deal with it in a proper way. Hence, to build up effectual communication
with the individual or patient I have placed emphasis on offering relaxing environment to the
patients. Hence, via effectual communication healthcare professional can encourage patients to
share the information regarding the issues that are facing by them. While working as a care
professional my understanding level regarding the importance of communication in doctor-
patient relationship increased significantly. I have identified that communication is the heart of
doctor-patient relationship. Moreover, it helps in understanding the viewpoints of patients and
thereby helps healthcare professional in taking suitable decision. Hence, by keeping such aspect
in mind it can be stated that experience level has placed positive impact on the perception level
of me. At the time of dealing with the patients I have assessed that by taking assistance of
effectual communication aspect I can understand the needs and issues of patients in an effectual.
This in turn helps me in recommending suitable suggestion to the indigenous people of Australia
for the prevention of disease to a great extent.
From such reflective process, I have learnt several aspects in relation to dealing with the
problems or issues of patients in an effectual way. From overall reflection process or aspect I
have identified that the extent to which communication is highly important in relationship of
doctor-patient. Beside this, by doing such investigation I have found that communication is the
main element which in turn helps in evaluating the mindset of personnel. Besides this, depression

and tension level of patient can also be reduced significantly through the means of
communication. I have understood that by evolving the system of effective communication high
level of satisfaction can be developed among the patients. Along with this, by involving patients
in the decision making aspect, being a health care professional, I would become able to take
suitable decision that place positive impact on patient’s life.
In addition to this, the overall process makes high level of contribution in my learning
aspects. Moreover, by undertaking the system of communication I would become able to highly
competent health professional. Through the means of reflective process I have understood the
manner in which issues or problems of the indigenous people of Australia can be resolved. By
keeping all the above mentioned aspects it can be stated that critical reflection process is highly
significant which in turn facilitates better understanding about the research issue. By
undertaking critical reflection process I would become able to evaluate my competencies in
against to set standards more effectually.
